@Japan: If you want land in South America, there are better ways to ask for it. I took the issue up with Brasil and Klein Venedig. You really should look somewhere less crowded, though.

News from The Horde:

After kidnapping a bunch of scientists and engineers from the decaying ruins of former-Russian cities, The Horde is pleased to announce a new military technology has been developed. We have managed to convert 80% of our tanks and mechanized infantry to solar power from oil power. This will allow unparalleled mobility for both our cavalry forces and infantry forces, as they no longer need to worry about refilling their tanks with fuel when in enemy territory, and can simply power themselves while moving. The other 20% will be converted soon.

Other technologies been developed are mostly along the lines of making machinery more maneuverable on the battle field, as to have more freedom of movement around slower, less agile enemies.

Australia would like to point out to the Horde that oil is superior to solar in every way but the fact that it isn't renewable. So you just actually downgraded.

Carthage would also like to point out that solar powered vehicles may be slightly underpowered in the middle of a russian winter. You'd have to be in a desert to get solid use out of them. Oil is more flexible, despite it's storage and Enviromental Problems.

Why do you think we stole a bunch of engineers and scientists? We have tested over the course of the year and have come out with conclusive results, although our tanks and vehicles are now slightly smaller as a result of less power coming from solar than compared to oil, they are literally unstoppable. Our army is now totally mobile, and can outrun any enemy, no matter the situation. It also makes our army even more flexible, contrary to what you might think. Supplies are a thing of the past, now that our camps are totally mobile, there is no need for supply lines for fuel and such, we merely just stand outside during the day and all the energy we'll ever need is provided for us.

You can have fun with the black sludge, but The Horde is moving on bigger and better things.

We're done with Russia, and we're moving on greener, and sunnier pastures.

Russia has VERY sunny summers, but not very sunny winters. Attack the Horde in winter, and they are decapacitated. Brasilian vehicles work on E100 (Pure Ethanol).

Ethanol is surely not as green as you may think (or renewable) it uses massive amounts of fossil fuels to produce it Juuuuuust saying.

No it doesn't. How to produce E100 yourself, and you won't use fossil fuels unless your electricity is powered by it. Everything can be made bigger.

What the Chancellor meant was that the USSR has the size and power that merits some sort of active involvement on the world stage. Previously we have limited ourselves to local agreements, never commenting much on Japan, the Horde, or any other nations that worry the people of the world. This is why the Conservatives and Republicans swept Congress, on a platform of greater international involvement rather than cowardly neutrality as before.

The President and the Libertarians were very non-interventionist, but reforms within the Republican party, combined with the surge of the Conservatives, have mitigated their influence.

Overall, in the USSR, neutrality as before is considered cowardly. This comment was in no way or means a reference to other neutral powers, who likely have a genuine interest in neutrality.

We agree to all of the above as well.

Of particular interest, the USSR has large oil reserves and a vast excess of surplus food. Most of the food stays in granaries(or is distributed to the people thanks to a Democratic initiative), but it is a large surplus and a valuable tool to use in trade and foreign assistance.
