Hi everybody!
I'm a member of the developer-team from the german TAC-modification for Colonization. As time passed i have made plenty of graphical stuff. Units, Citysets, Leaderheads etc.
You can find my Leaderheads here. They are originally made for Colonization so if you like, you can use them unconsidered in Colonization too.

In this thread i will release the units i have made. But you need to integrate the units yourself, i will only upload the graphical files.
If you have some requests for Units, LHs, etc. please go ahead and ask me. But i won't promise anything.

A Ship of the line. This unit is a heavy modified pirates-import and therefore has a high polycount and many textures. I haven't encountered any problems so far, but be warned.
No damage texture (maybe i will update this in the future). The Europescreen-picture of the ship is made for koma's "New Europe screen", but need some polishing too.

A couple of Civilian units.
3 male units: Master builder, bishop, nobleman
3 female units: noble woman, peasant woman, townswoman
2 units: spice trader and hunter

Use them as any profession you like. Buttons and cityscreen-portrait are included.

Credits: Mostly modified pirates-imports. The hunter model is from FFH2, but i have no clue who has made this.

Native units for UnitArtStyles! All native nations from Colonization included plus Maya ,Tehuelche and one great general. For better clearness all units of one nation/tribe have the same basemodel. No extra buttons yet, i'm not sure how to handle this best.

pack 1: Apache, Arawak, Cherokee, Iroquois
pack 2: Inca, Maya, Sioux, Tehuelche
pack 3: Aztec, Tupi, Native general

Credits: I used some meshes and textures from the "Age of Further Discovery"-mod so i'm not totally sure about that. Deliverator, i guess.

Awesome work, melcher, I've seen somethings I'll add to my Medieval mod for sure. Funny, I just had worked to get the "Hunter" unit into my Medieval mod the other day as an Hunter archer, I love that unit. I can use your version as a early gunpowder unit.

I have a unit request, authentic war galleys of the 15 -18 century. There have been a few attempts made in other mods but I have never seen one that looked authentic. Below I posted some links and some pictures I scanned from my "The History of Pirates" book. They will give you the idea of what I am talking about.

Hey, I am trying to download these but I keep getting this error. I can download other stuff just not your units... any idea why?

Great work, melcher kürzer!

Really, now impossible to download from civfanatics.com. Here direct links to download.

However, I could find on the German forum only these sets:

1. -Bischof
-großer Staatsmann
-großer Baumeister

2. 3 weibliche Einheiten:
Adel, Mittelschicht und Unterschicht

3. Gewürzhändlerin und erfahrener Jäger.

4. Ein Linienschiff unter spanischer Flagge

However, these sets

pack 1: Apache, Arawak, Cherokee, Iroquois
pack 2: Inca, Maya, Sioux, Tehuelche
pack 3: Aztec, Tupi, Native general

are absent. Do you have links to these sets on the German forum?

Sorry guys,
the files are currently in the moderation queue. They need to be approved first and should be available in the next few days.
I should have explained that understandable in my startpost, my fault.
I have created that thread first because i wanted a forum link in the download description. Editing the files afterwards leads to the moderation queue again so it's the only solution.

And thanks, i'm glad you like the units.

Nice to hear.

I will think about it. Normally i don't try to make historical accurate units but it's sounds interesting.
If i make that unit i will need quite some time. First, i have to do some other units.
Second, ships are as opposed to other units a lot of work.
And i see directly one big problem with the animations. The cannons are placed to fire forwards. All ships in Civ fights side by side. This could be tricky.

No. There is no download possibility on the german forum for these. Just wait a few days.

If you want to make the galleys, here is a galleas made by C.Roland a while ago (later the animation must be fixed, the original thread is here) with more bows working. Also the attack angel of ships isn´t written in stone - eg submarines don´t fight side to side. I´m not sure, but iirc it was a entry in the ArtDefines, this one looks especially promising, the Battleship has this entry, the submarine not.

Code:
<fExchangeAngle>25.0</fExchangeAngle>

Yep, I have tried to get the galleas to work with Colonization but never could. Well infact a lot of the custom ships want work with Colonization so just getting them to work would add more variaty for sure.

here is a nif for C.Rolands galleas (use the animation from wolfshanze thread - scale around half of the caravel) which works in Colonization.

If there are still problems converting civ4 units to col - because i only seldom check this subfora nowadays - pm me and if i have time a will have a look [or ask in the main Civ4 C&C fora]

@ Melcher
and now i will stop to take over your thread ;) - btw iirc after 30 posts your files no longer need the moderators queue

Sweet, Coyote, I been wanting to get that unit in my Privateers mod ever sense I saw it. I tested it out and it all works. I did notice there was a flash of pink textures when the cannons fire. That may have something to do with missing effects files though.

Yeah, to get Ships to face forward when they attack you just set up the art file like a submaries. I'd still like an authentic 16th Century pirate galley with the cannons on the front :)

And yeah, melcher.. get to posting :)

How could i forget that. It's been a long time since i have played Civ4 the last time and i didn't reached modern ages often. :D Good to know how this is handled anyway.
But i like the idea of making a galley fires forward. I will make that unit but don't expect it will finishs soon. As i have said before, lots of other work to do first.

I don't mind.:) And i know i need 30 posts but this isn't quite easy as it sounds.

The units are approved now and you can download them.:)
Currently i'm working on european units, should finish them unitl next week.

Wow, these units are awesome!
Especially the natives will be useful
I may even continue modding Age of Further Discovery because of them (and because your LHs of course ;))
