Hmm, I might claim what would be the former New England. Though if possible to have a human majority (Since I have as the background for mines as Vault Dwellers coming out of the vaults, think Fallout series)

Though being a ninja, not sure if I can have a Shinobi Clan or just start my own.
 
New England'd be a perfect place for a majority human society; it's where the majority of humans/overlanders live in the comic universe. ;)

Shinobi refers to the Shinobi Clan of Chameleon ninja in the Dragon Kingdom. Rival ninja clans being the Yagyu(bats), Raiju(lynxes), and Gossamer(spiders). Shinobi are known for espionage, Yagyu for theft and pillaging, Raiju for aggression and ferocity, and Gossamer for working with prophecies.

After many years traveling in generationships. The human colonists from Earth have finally landed in an uncharted planet, though the planet itself is very vaguely familiar to many of the colonist. Almost to the point of causing a "Planet of the Apes" scenario. However, they came to not expect to see sentient creatures on the planet. The first contact was met with surprise and curiosity, though had to take time to gain trust of the locals due to the friction between the Mobians and what they term "Overlanders".

A bit of a factoid:

While humans and overlanders are similar in appearance(Overlanders merely have four fingers rather than five), their attitudes towards Mobians are vastly different. Overlanders grew up alongside the Mobians after the planet Earth was ravaged by gene bombs ages ago. Constant warfare has made the two races hate eachother.

Humans, by contrast, exist in those scattered settlements around the globe, having found some way to avoid the gene bombs. Due to being humans that survived the original Apocalypse, they are not only advanced, but also far more tolerant than the generally-racist Overlanders.

As for setting, I've decided that, more or less, this IOT should take place after the Xorda assault wiped out the humans, as Mobian life finally began to evolve...

Unless you'd all rather we'd make this a SECOND apocalypse's aftermath. Either one works for me.

A confederation of human colonies whose people hail from lands that ruled the world in times long past. Its people are devoted to recovering the splendor of human civilization. Fascism runs rampant based on the belief in human superiority, and a new society has arisen whose culture imitates that of the ancient humans as best as it can. However, the majority of information about ancient human history has been lost to the ages. Much of what has survived are stories of valor and glory on the battlefield, giving rise to an extremely militant society. Frequent combat with the overlanders has only increased this. As overlander raids became common amongst the struggling colonies, the people's hearts were hardened towards the overlanders, who are widely viewed as subhuman beasts. These conflicts are what eventually led to an increased sense of unification amongst human colonies and the formation of a central government. Once united, the humans utilized their advanced weapons technology to crush the overlanders, who were enslaved. The same fate soon came to the mobians. After a large slave revolt, the populace's fears of the mobians grew, leading to their expulsion from the Dominion, upon penalty of death. This new civilization is built on the back of slave labor, and held together by the belief in human superiority, and thus, it is illegal to have a child of mixed human and mobian or overlander blood. In the rare instances that this does occur, the child is doomed to a life of slavery, and the parents are executed.

Military- Emphasis on highly trained, human soldiers with advanced weaponry. The overlanders have poor weaponry and supplies, and function mostly as cannon fodder.

Language- Many different dialects of former human languages, with Humanspeak as the official language. It is based mostly off ancient Latin based languages.
Currency- Denarii, in imitation of one of one of the most successful ancient humans civilizations
Religion- Ancient human religions are revered and studied, and their holidays are celebrated, but the majority of the populace view religion as obsolete and are atheists

Ethnic Breakdown: 78% Mobian, 16% Human, 6% Overlander

Government: Confederation of autonomous city-states, most of which are mercantile republics, but some are principalities or democracies. Most are ruled by Mobians, though a few are ruled by humans. Each state sends representives, democratically-elected or otherwise, to the Confederal Congress in Santhiago.

Leader: President Sebastian James Gray, Consul of the State of Santhiago

Currency: Oceanian Dollar

Language: English (co-official), Spanish (co-official), Oceanian Creole (non-official, but widely spoken)

Religion: No nationwide official religion. Most Mobians and humans are followers of the "New Religions", that combines elements of the human Old Religions with Mobian elements. Overlanders are invariably followers of the Old Religions, mostly Christianity.

The State of Santhiago is ruled by an expatriate Downundan (Sebastian of course. Or rather, I'll make it someone who looks like him and with the same name. I don't like my characters jumping between universes :p ).

Also, I'm of the opinion that Downunda is a terrible name for a country. If they want to mock Australian pronounciations they could've gone with Stralya.

In the meantime, I'm designing a few NPCs, but they won't be as numerous as Sons of Mars' by far. At MOST, there will be one per human player. Unlike you know, the 4-5 per player Sons of Mars had going on.
