When was Germany beaten in WW1?

On a related note, I've never actuall known much about Bulgaria's actions in the war. It seems to be covered even less than the Ottoman front. What exactly did they get up to?

They also took part in crushing Romania very quickly, after their ill-timed entry in 1917. I don't know if they fought on the Russian front.

since ı am not qualified for philosophy and deal with it only when it is on the tech tree of this game , the one thing ı can safely say is no one can win all the time , yet it is quite enough to win when you decide/need to fight .

this post claims to discuss Wilson's 14 points . Remember the ratio.

Spoiler :

maybe this is an opportune moment to examine the Wilson's 14 points . Participants in this subforum might have argued it to death already but ı will be confident enough to assure the readers that they haven't seen this one yet . Of course the relevance to the thread is the Germans were ready to accept the declared demands , or at least to start the talk from them . Hence between June (here certain parts were totally unacceptable) to August ( Ludendorff losing confidence day by day ) and September ( by the end of which he physically collapsed ) where an American led peace was the only possible way out for Germany , the notions were fully in the forefront of debates and public was led to believe they were fair and respectful of the sacrifices so far endured . It seems brusque refusal of German attempts in October did much to totally destabilise authority at home . A candidate , maybe , as an answer to the question that forms the thread title .

ı am known to be rather dismissive of United States when it comes to having/showing initiative before the start of Cold War and Point Two is an indication . American shipping is to be left alone in any kind of war to do its thing , British brusqness in searching for contraband and taking over ships as repeated in the early WW1 must stop . Even better , London has to cooperate with Washington and ask for permission in starving enemy nations to death ; those who are about to starve pay much more . American Navy can not be expected to do this so it has be by treaty .

as business is the only business of America , though the exact sentence is yet to be uttered , any protective tariffs arranged against US interests has to be abolished , as Point Three shows . Those who pray to the god of capitalism will of course be totally in agreement with the sentence that defines global trade as somethin' covered under the name of peace and protected militarily and a club only for select members .

keeping with the theme US agrees with the colonial needs to smash any attempt by the lesser people that are ruled from European capitals but weaponry that can be used against club members are better to be pared down . First rate enemies break the treasury , dreadnoughts are not much use against primitives , only needed against those who own their own . A disarmament is in the interests of everybody , as it will definately remove the teeth from -say - those USN types who actively plan for war , God forbid , even with the UK . The thing Point Four doesn't say of course is considering the size of the US industry in any arms race the advantage will lie with the Americans and the dreadnought race is fresh in the mind of Wilson . Where it was presumed England and Germany had started from equal positions . So if business interests demands a war with a first rate power , it will be cheaper for US to produce more weapons , if the standing arms are limited in number and quality .

point Five is cheeky enough to suggest the Europeans are to conduct an open door policy in their colonies so that US business can operate in European holdings too . Those who actually understand English are free to say it is nothing of the sort , but this is Atlantic Charter 20 odd years early .

so far nothing new ? Indeed , such waste is regularly produced by the lowliest of conspiracy addicts . Who read a book or two and establish non-existent links between events , to their own satisfaction . Say , something along the lines of Russian revolution making it imperative for the Anglo-French condomium to pay attention to this mighty reserve of manpower who is ready to play , and offer its sons to be killed by Germans , only if the conditions asked are accepted . Which explains , in my forlorn existance , the importance given to Point Six . Much mumbo jumbo is in there regarding Russia , though one can discern Tsardom is no more . The version ı have is 621 words long , in the way ı counted it from the book , and the Russian point turns out to be one fifths of the entire piece.

point Seven is the place where American promises openly begin and demands openly end . For language changes somewhat . Shoulds and musts appear as modal verbs in the primary sentence instead of being in the subsections . Britain is promised a free Belgium enabling it to claim victory . Because , you see , they haven't done much to achieve their declared goal and there are enough Yanks to be buried in European cemeteries . And the Germans are smart enough to understand this is number one condition and it is undisputable . England weighs sooo much in American politics . Though Russian territory does not get an imperative .

the junior partner France also gets its victory in Point Eight , though my grammer was / is always weak and am not sure which one is the stronger , must or should ?

italy as befits their being Italians get their 16 words in the shortest of all , Point Nine . Though their territorial gains are accepted .

point Ten is a perfect tautology , Austria Hungary is to be destroyed by division yet lulled with a wellcome to civilized world .

balkan countries are given an American nod , though Bulgaria - the American creation - has been in betrayal so Washington needs new clients . Point Eleven still manages to put the mechanisms in place though .

yeah , our turn . Nothing un-understandable and it is really neat to see the refusal of self determination for Turks . The operative phrase is the "present Ottoman Empire" and anybody living outside is not a Turk . ı was born in Bulgaria , as a member of the Turkish minority and ı exist because the Bulgarian massacres in 1912-13 was cut short .

point Thirteen is still an indication of a lack of self confidence in the American prowess and power as their business interests in Russia could have been hampered by a necessary Russian nationalism if there wasn't a buffer zone between them and the mighty Germany . Besides the newly created markets Ten to Thirteen are indeed are all about securing Russian democracy in some way .

it is interesting to see the country that would win the war to end all wars has offered so little to the Allies , a face saving in case of Britain and land to the remaining two . In both cases land the countries had reason to believe they had every right to . Yeah out of 14 points we - in the stupid r16 way- have deduced there are 3 offers and 10 demands . What of the first ? Well , ı said my grammer was weak . So , ı don't remember ever encountering the use of shall unless it referred to I and We . Oh yeah , Uncle Sam is promising not to talk to the devil . You know they were always so ashamed of the fact that Morocco was the first country to recognize United States , their first attempt at global expansion was a secret deal of arms sales to Ottoman Empire which was quickly shot down in the Senate and so on . Unimaginable was an American fiction all along .

which kinda explains the rejection of certain American overtures to talk since 2007 , just about the time the investigations against the military gained in speed . Point Ten kinda . America's bought men were delivered to the law with all the juicy details on how they were betraying this country . Those now in custody even talked of Agartha as a Turkish reality as if somebody had deduced it would be helpful in the initial phase . It is not only the Muslimness of this country that the story takes aim at , Wikipedia has a link far too heavy for me that deals with the interaction of Nazism and the idea of the said location . The process goes on with good speed . Only because this weekend is the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Airforce and a large airshow was planned , resulting in 144 aircraft from 22 countries with airforce commanders of 55 countries attending . The risk of leading to youth getting impressed with military decided that the arrest of the next airforce commander was delayed for 5 months . Navy was getting hammer generally , it appears it is now the turn of the Airforce . Would have made sense , had we have the means to do anything but as everybody knows , it is the myths that drive people .

by the way let the publishers of the Economist be informed that they are going to be charged with inciting anti-Semitism in this country , through regular election time politics . They were always for the goverment , yet just after the #2 party declared its foreign policy goals , they called for voting for the opposition with their representative here cutely caling the goverment as a dictatorship to be ... Which one is the smiley for the Incredibbbbble ? Considering she was the staunchest of defenders for the said goverment . When our civil war starts there will be so much talk of backstabbing . You know , the word goals is actually wrong , only thing they said was better relationship with Israel .

it is indeed puzzling for Americans to get blamed for a civil war they are merely threatening us with . In private , in PR they are so ready to explain how they are on our side . Well , there is going to be a talk , a very visible talk in the well known lingua franca on how Turkish Military regularly got it handed to them despite those unique American capabilities used to spot our enemies . When it was essential to show the hollowness of the reputation of the military and people needed a justification for the Waffen SS of their own in the shape heavily armed / professional border guards instead of the conscript army that got trounced in live footage on prime time TV . The case of Germany is well studied .

it pays to study the example of others , something Wilson's army did not spend much time to do . Can't blame them much , Wilson was only interested in businessmanship . Asking for the best price for the goods at hand . And not much interest in the end use , and this even after they got in . Because Russians were slipping out of the ring , that kinda increased American bargaining power which finally resulted in US getting in . Because previously the price was too steep . And don't ı really deserve to be pelted with tomatoes from the stands for this little thing ?

have used a couple of terms in this post , in a time period before they were said . The arsenal of democracy might be similar as ı think it was a WW2 invention . Because the deal was not to the shape Wilson wanted the US industry was delayed in certain areas . Have talked of the tanks , due to constraints of line-production America saw it cheaper to complete about 1050 tanks instead of scrapping after the war . And they were delayed because the US aircraft production was delayed which was in return delayed because of the bottlenecks in the DH-4 production which was delayed because ...

let me see , that plane was a British product who used Imperial measurements and ı believe Americans were also familiar with feet and inches . That is why time was spent in translating the DH-4 blueprints from metric among other things . ı am sorry , there is historical evidence for this . Which then says time was also spent in translation to metric to begin with .

this coupled with the chief American export of 1917-18 , the millions under arms and the reluctance for their employment might have been interesting .Though Pershing can be understood for keeping his troops away from the Allied command for they were sure to be wasted , he might have allowed investigation of the newest fads in battle . May God have mercy on the allies of America...
