6,050 Years in the Life of a Confused City-State

Not on an OCC...

score is hard to come by. Expect a lot of military.

225 BC. Aaaand... we're back!

NinjaCow: with another episode of 6,050 Years in the Life of a Confused City-State!
Choxorn: That's just 6,050 Years, Ninja. Olaf got too lazy to write out the full title every time...
NinjaCow:Well, fair enough. What on Erebus possessed him to have such a long title?
Choxorn: Wrong mod, Ninja. And about the title: I think it's supposed to be funny.
NinjaCow: Shame it didn't work.
Olaf (CFCer): I heard that!

In the alternate universe of 6,050 Years, another Olaf is busy talking to one of his advisors.

Olaf: Actually, they're quite nice.
Ilduce: I agree - these will completely do away with the barter system! That's quality paper as well. We were going to use some sort of metal, but bronze is the only one going at the moment, and we need that for weapons.
Olaf: And so we get these... coins? Little circular pieces of paper? Well, they smell better than bronze, that's for sure.
Ilduce: Beeswax!
Olaf: Do you know who you're talking to, Financial Advisor?
Ilduce: No, no, sire: they're covered in a thin layer OF beeswax. I wasn't disputing your opinion. It makes them more resilient... and as you've noticed, they also smell a bit like honey.
Olaf: Aah! I could sit here smelling coins all day.
Choxorn:Ok, let's move on...

175 BC. Yes, we still haven't got to year 0. Guess what just got built...

Civ'ed: Sire! Excellent news!
Olaf: They're putting out a new series of Coup d'Etat Street?
veBear:Um... no. Our Pyramids are finished!
Olaf: (Stops his celebratory jig in mid-air, and promptly faceplants) ...Oh. Ah, well. So, what can these Pyramids do for us?
Civ'ed: Well, we can now ensure you and your descendants have absolute power over the city-state...
Olaf: I'm immortal. That's useless!
veBear: ...or we could use it to subjugate any rebellions...
Olaf: What? By dropping it on top of them? Anyway, the populace are perfectly content. In wartime... maybe. But this isn't wartime. It's supper. By the way, this is excellent fish.
Bestrfcplayer (Leader of the Guilds): Caught just offshore early this morning. The toxic waste from the sewers may have affected it a bit, but I have to agree, it's very tasty.
Everyone except bestrfcplayer: The what from the where? (Civ'ed dry-retches.)
Bestrfcplayer: Er... nothing! :mischief:
Anyway, is there anything else we could do with these pyramids?

veBear: We could give everyone a chance to choose who leads them...
Olaf: If I did that, how long d'you think I'd stay attached to my head? I'm a despot! People only stay here because it's better than being eaten by wild animals with three strength! I don't even know what that means! (Olaf stops, as he realises he is beginning to babble incoherently.)
Civ'ed: ...anyway, sire, the other option is that we use it to give the people of this city representation. The people will tell us more about their discoveries, they're happier, and nothing changes, since we all already 'represent the people'. Cough.
Olaf: ...I don't know. I'll procrastinate on it overnight. Goodnight.

All of the Council leave the table.

I think I did revolt. I just can't remember when I revolted or whether I got a screenshot of it :p :D

Representation!!! Power to the PEOPLE!!!!

(Well, more like the elite, but hey.)

Nice update.

BTW, nice to see Portal 2 in a signature. :goodjob: I’ll put it back in mine.

2 techs and i somehow wasn't there...
IM THE FREAKIN TECH ADVISOR:mad:

The people are rebelling against our Anarchy. Our civilization has descended into Anarchy!

Oh wait, wrong game.

Now you're speaking my language!:spear::spear:

Please people! The people do not want war, and neither do the Guilds. I as the Guild Leader condemn such actions of inohotep and mbkkbm for suggesting that war is the best rout to go. I say we build more of these "wonders" and focus on economy.

Where has your second in command been? :p
