Pre order Date is 5th August ~ 10th August

Civ5 Special pack + Korean DLC = 45,000 Won

Wait. so is the contest to choose the Leader? If that's true.. shouldn't it be released atleast several days to make the proper Leaderhead?

it is uncertain.

I don't know in detail.

Maybe that picture from the Korean Online shoppingmall

Korean Civ 5 Special Package: Civ 5 + Korean Manual Book (233P) + Two Music CDs
Pre Order Civ 5 Special Package: Korean Civ 5 Special Pack + Korean Civ DLC + 3 Maps (Asia, Mediterranean, Americas)
Price: 45,000원 ($42)

That is Russia. It's an add to buy the game and the Korea DLC, so some of the screenshots are the basic screenshots that were released with the main game a year ago. The Russian city is one of them.

So five days from now, on Tuesday, we should get the information. That would be great. I'm betting Korea will be the following:

Korea
Led by Sejong
UA: Industrious Thoughts -- All specialists generate science, can adopt conflicting social policies without losing the benefits of previous policies (like Rationalism AND Piety can both be active at the same time).
UU: Hwacha, replaces Catapult, does not need a turn to set up and bonus against units.
UU: Kobukson, replaces Trireme, stronger than normal trireme with bonus land bombardment.
The catapult is a Classical Age unit but the H'Wacha wasn't invented till the 1500's - it would be more appropriate for the Hwacha to replace the cannon. Similar situation with the turtle ship which should probably replace the caravel if anything.

Interesting, it comes combined with a "cradle of civilization scenario pack".

Is that a translation error and do they mean a map pack instead of scenario pack, or is it the Wonders of the World scenario translated a bit differently of what? And does that mean Wonders of the ancient world isn't one but multiple scenarios? (That would be awesome, by the way).
Also, can anyone make out what is says between "cradle of civilization scenario pack" and "Korea Civilization DLC"?
Civ5 Special pack + Korean DLC = 45,000 Won
Why the smiley? Is that cheap or expensive? (I don't know how 'much' a Won is).

1$ = 1087 Won

45000 Won = about 40$ it's cheap :)

But i don't know about Wonders of the World scenario DLC

Maybe Wonders of the World scenario is in Korean DLC ?

like one + one :crazyeye:

"Industrious Thoughts" is a weird UA name, and I doubt it's official. If it is, I think I just lost my appetite for the Korea DLC.

Kobukson replacing Trireme? No way.

Hwacha replacing Catapult? *sorta* makes sense, but realistically it'd replace the trebuchet, which was also around in the 15th century. Maybe it'd have less damage vs cities, more defense, not require set up time, and have the ability to fire multiple times at infantry.

12th August is a rather late release date...you'd think they'd be ready to get it finished in a few days or so, but nooooo....oh well, I guess I'll be playing the Korea DLC while I'm at grad school. LOL.

Why not have the Hwach'a replace a Trebuchet? Better for time period, better for balance (already have a catapult replacement). I'd make the argument for a Turtle replacing a Caravel for similar reasons.

Firaxis always releases DLC info like RIGHT before the DLC comes out...maybe 3-4 days in advance. It's very annoying, and a bad marketing scheme. If you want your fans to anticipate it, release info slowly and tantalizingly. =_=

Oh well.

That was fan speculation, as per any Korean thread thus far.

They're coupling the Korea DLC with the base game, so there's already precedent for Korea doing it's own thing. I'd venture that the Deluxe Korean edition does come with 3 map packs.

* Ok, here's a description of the conventions I've used. The texts in quotation marks are translated directly from the image. Text in italics denotes a particular sub-image within the image. How the sections are divided below mirrors the actual composition of the image. (ie. will appear in order used in the image.)

I didn't exactly translate it word for word, so there will be some bits missed out, but I assure you, those bits are really not important. (For example, I don't think you guys want to know that an external paper box casing is included in the package deal.)

Now that that's out of the way, let's get to it eh :)

------------------------

"Sid Meier's Civilization V

On August 12th, 2011 -
Korean Civ DLC Release!"

------------------------

And then comes the first box which contains information on the Civilization V package deal they are offering which mentions that it comes with the Korean Civ DLC.

------------------------

The red text is saying that you can install and play the game off Steam. The list after that is the minimum specs for playing Civ 5.

------------------------

"Special pre-order offer information

Offer available between 5th - 10th August
Will be shipped on 11th August
Official release: 12th August
Special pre-order bonus: Map pack DLC (3pcs)

Asia, America, Mediterranean maps

* Note: As there is a limited number of available copies, this offer may potentially become sold out and unavailable."

------------------------

"Package offer contents

  • Civilization V Original DVD Package (with English manual, tech tree poster, etc.)
  • Civilization V Korean language manual (233 pages)
  • Civilization V OST (2 CDs)
  • Civilization V Korean Civ DLC

Disclaimer: The image above is included as a decoration. Actual contents of the deal may not appear the same as the image."

------------------------

And then the paragraph below is a description of the game itself. It's actually a bit misleading, saying that the game focuses on the 18th century. (I think they might have confused it with Napoleon Total War cuz it's saying that the previous game took place 10 years ago scenario-wise, for which I think Empire Total War fits the description.)

------------------------

"Game characteristics"

George Washington's portrait

A list of the civs included (Something tells me you guys didn't need my translation skills for this part... :p)

Rocket Artilleries range attacking

"Range attack now enabled"

A bunch of units on a hex grid

"A new hex system has been introduced to improve upon the old square grids. Only one unit is now allowed on a particular tile - this increases the importance of appropriate tactics."

Archers range attacking over a lake

"Improved AI allows a more realistic display of diplomacy options." lololololol "Upgraded graphics employed to portray many battles of epic scales."

------------------------

And then a bunch of old screenshots. (Which I'm sure you guys aren't in the least bit interested about. :p)

That's all folks! :)
