SLNES II: Descendants of Aadora

Shiny things were always better. I dislike this forests, this sands and plains. I will cover it all in shiny. I want my lands to be pretty in my eyes! I will cover all with my crystal.

Update Two
The Scattering of Divinity

Pond-Woods.jpg

And so many suns came to rise and set, as the world of Sunfane continued its climb out of the void. The sons and daughters of Aadora avoided each other, for the most part, resigning to specific regions of Sunfane. In turn, these regions became symbols of their powers and personalities. Some of Aadora's children flew half-way across the world to spread their divinity, while others harbored their powers in a tidy corner of Sunfane. Still, many regions of Sunfane were left in the void, their emptiness taking a toll on the lands of the descendants.

Within the reaches of white,
Mirrors along the starshine gave way.
Forces of fear and lonely lights,
Knew the speakers and their eyes.

Shapes and colors,
Rise and set,
Cool breeze and drought,
A storm for every blink.

Children of soil,
Sink, and sky,
Place your hearts,
Into land's near.

Conditions of Turn Three

* Geomancing only. One territory only. Remember that geomancing includes changing terrain, weather, and natural resources.
* Deities may not geomance regions that have already been formed.
* Deities may geomance areas adjacent to any player territory (not only adjacent to their own). All areas are available to geomance except 21, 25, 26, 27, and 28 (until someone develops the regions adjacent).
* Please note that region numbers have changed based on the new world we have for this turn.
* While strange geographic forms such as rings around rings and bizarre rock formations are perfectly acceptable and interesting, try to think about a landscape which might work in a practical sense. Just asking you to think about it.
* Remember that anyone can join at any time.
* Have fun!

OOC: The notes I wrote about you are what the other gods and goddesses think of you. Therefore, it is not necessarily what you want to be known as. In order to change it to what you want to be known as, you should post accordingly and try to sway the minds of divinity (me, in this case). If I said you are "unclear so far", it means that I did not have enough information to pin you and you are still relatively unknown. This has nothing to do with the quality of your posts, and perhaps you want to remain unclear.

My crystal lands grow daily and forever. The world looks better fitting for my greatness. Yet one cannot rule a world from a single spot and cover it in crystal, for it will take many ages.

A second obelisk of crystal will rise in the far south. Rainy lands CURRENTLY (after geomancing 20) covered in a rich rainforest. The rains continue to fall as the obelisk rises and crystal begins to form. Strange lakes form above the crystal, what a wonderful sight. They slowly expand from the massive rains and slowly evaporate back to the skies only to become rain again that falls. Mountains north of the rainforest block massive clouds to escape into other areas of the north. The large jungle in here slowly covered under crystals, slowly dies away except for the fastest growing trees that succeed in breaking through my crystal and survive. Interesting jungle caves form under the crystal, amazing sight, what could be living there? It is not dark for light goes right through.

And in the center of all the obelisk. Continues to form more crystal outwards. Eventually all would be mine.

Woololo got up and stretched, blinking in the bright lights, and noticed that he, again, was in a peice of untouched land. Deciding that that wouldn't do, Woololo decided to go for a walk, stepping over the reclining forms of the sleeping entourage, he wandered the lands, carving and connecting rivers, making gentle rolling hills...

On these hills, he placed soft green grass, so that his entourage could sleep comfortably. and then, having a craving for different boozes, he dotted the hills with grapes, fruit trees, grains, and, potatoes, knowing that someone would come along to domesticate them eventually... and where there is domestication, there is wine.

OOC: land 23 will have a number of rivers in between hundreds of small rolling hills... these rivers should connect to Seed's territory, but spring in the springs of woololo's previous lands. the land itself should be of highest fertility, practically a paradise on earth. all manners of crops should be waiting the first inhabitants.

There certainly are a lot of mountains; The Scholar mused as it walked south, in search of new place to conduct another experiment. It finally reached the southernmost point of the mainland. Here the god would make a new desert. But not one where the heat was dangerous, but rather the absence of heat.

After the land became cold and even the water in the air froze; the Scholar was hit with another idea. Any who settled in this land would have a chance, it decided. To the north, it knew there were areas where molten rock came out of mountains, the invention of a sibling. The Scholar placed a similar system underground, causing the earth to melt and bubble and spurt with the heat. Some parts, the parts right above the volcano, gave off poisonous gases, and the volcano itself would probably erupt at some point. But for now, there were oases of heat in the desert of cold.

OOC: Coldland and underground volcano (causing geysers and abundant geothermal energy) at 21.

Apatè had looked on his creation, and sighed a sigh of contentment. He had a home in these Shifting Caverns. Atop these Phosphorescent mushroom. He would travel north and apologize to the world for his harsh treatment. His scarring of the world would not do.

Apatè walked, and walked, and walked. And walked some more. Hills erupted around him as he walked, but the path he walked remained flat, and straight, and true. Beyond the hills lay endless fields of wheat and corn, and food, and water. Trees sprouted from these fields that dropped delicious sweet fruits as their bounty.

Apatè knew not where he would end. He would walk until he got there. When he reached his end, he would bless this path, and make it a corridor for many travellers in their time. In the distant past, the distant future, and all the times in betwee.

OOC: Region 7: A river should flow from the foot of the Shifting Caverns Mountains (create by Apatè last turn). On both sides of this river, a wide flat path which will never grow over with plants will exist. This will be a corridor for civilization in times to come. Mountains in the south merging into hills in the north (connecting The Wild One's hills in the north and Apatè's mounains in the south) will line this path on the outside. Beyond the mountains and hills, bountiful fields full of fruit and wheat and corn and all types of wonderful foods. This is in reparation for the scars # left on the world.

The Goddess Carpathia the Puppeteer
Spoiler :
81da85b462983a9484ea59faa119a4ea-d3je1uy.jpg

Carpathia saw her work and was pleased by it. The river Gardead split the forces of life and death, and the Valley of Volcold was sure to be a great land of strife. But there was one force that she felt lacked a home: herself.

Carpathia looked high upon the world, and saw an island far to the north. It would do, she though. She descended upon the island and spread her hand across the land, flatly, without movement, and all the land surrounding her became barren desert, endlessly flat. Then, upon the very spot she stood, in the very center of the island, she pulled the ground up. It rose quickly and violently, with a very steep and vertical slope. It was very tall, visible from all around, yet was surrounded by endless miles of treacherous desert. She plunged beneath the earth and pushed up great columns surrounding the mountain with her fingers, then returning to the surface, she spread seed in the small area. The mountain and the land surrounding it became lush with vegetation and springs, and all manner of fruit, along with some unique to the land, grew. But all the fruit was under her command; at her whim, it could be the fruit of eternal life, or the fruit of instant death, after one had eaten it; the water, likewise, could make one the strongest of the strong, or the weakest of the weak.

At the very top of the mountain, in the center of a great garden, Carpathia built her throne, surrounded by great and beautifully-carved columns. Surrounding the throne within the area of the columns was a zone of weather and land changing to her emotions. It could be icy cold, volcanic hot, barren and dead, or lush and green, depending on her mood. The throne had a view of all the lands of the earth, from which Carpathia could rule her domain.

After all this had been done, Carpathia sat upon her throne. The throne's garden immediately grew fruit, for she was in a pleased mood. Her dominion had been set, and she was ready to command all the lands before her eyes. But the fruit was poisonous, for she would not be a benevolent ruler.

OOC: Zone 1 will be all desert save for the very center, where a tropical jungle and extremely fertile mountain resides, surrounded by great pillars of stone. The mountain is very high, and surrounded by desert so vast and without any water that one could die crossing it. All manner of fruit, and some that don't exist anywhere else, grow on the mountain, and it can either bring eternal life or immediate death depending on Carpathia's whim, and the water can make one incredibly strong or weak. At the very top of the mountain, surrounded by classical (Greco-Roman) columns, is Carpathia's throne, the area within being changing terrain related to Carpathia's mood.

The mountain is called Carpathia's Throne

The empty land stretched out before him. Behind him, his first great creation stood, protected from the outside world. Impiosa had initially spent his time content, walking among the trees, viewing up close the wondrous life he had crafted. Yet as time wore on, he became restless, unable to find comfort in his domain. He desired to build, yearned to create, just as he had before. And so, he was drawn here, to this lifeless region just northwest of his domain. Just as his first great creation, this was a blank canvas, flat and barren. The perfect place to create once again.

He drew a long, winding ditch, as if through sand, along the edge of the land, starting from the mountain. It connected with the river from the west, and water flowed in, filling up the deep moat. He waved his hands over the waters, and they became like glass, smooth and clear. Now, however crossed this river would feel all discontent lifted from them, their minds clear and free.

Impiosa turned back to the expanse, and let his hands fly. Up came great trees and plants, reaching towards the heavens. Yet these were not the plants of his first great creation. Instead of broad leaves resting on their branches, millions of needles sprouted from their limbs, covering the surface of the plant. Firs, pines, cypresses, spruces, all rose up to cover the mounds of earth which had risen with them.

But even these seemed to generic. So Impiosa took one of the great trees and began to alter it. The needles, the would shine like crystals, to designate which was his creation. The cones, they would become a bright orange, and its hard wood would be replaced with soft fruit, sweet with a hint of salt. From within, a thick sap would collect, tasting of everything, yet nothing at the same time. This plant he spread across the landscape, intermingling with the others.

Impiosa scooped up a handful of rocks, and closed his fists around them. When he opened his hands, they had become a dark red. He grasped one in his fingers, and watched it burst into flames. The fire roared mightily, and a warm, pleasant aroma rose from the flames. He extinguished this, and cast the stones into the wind. They were carried across the land, and fell to the ground, buried beneath the soil.

Now, only one thing remained. He spread his hands wide, and began to gather together great clouds. These clouds came in from the west, and began a journey eastwards. When they had reached the river, they began to release their loads, letting millions of crystals fall to the ground. Soon, the land was blanketed in a layer of white, glistening in the sunlight. Now, his second great creation was complete.

OOC: Geomance territory 15 (hereby named Hailose). A river will run from Apate to Blackstorm, all along the border of territories 14 and 15. It will connect with the river from Shara. The waters are enchanted so that anyone who crosses them will feel a euphoric sensation, often resulting in them forgetting why they came to his land. The interior will be covered in coniferous forest, with hills dotting the landscape. A new tree will be formed. It will produce fruit all year round, as well as a sap which has a taste that will change depending on the taster's preference. A coal like substance is buried beneath the ground. It will burn like coal, but produce fewer pollutants, and will have a hickory scent. Finally, the land will be in eternal winter, but with conditions that make life there bearable, almost enjoyable (think a winter wonderland).

Dinaus flew northwards, looking at all those mountains all over the world, and thinking they had some merit, were gorgeous to behold, but they were becoming monotonous after a while. Living on top of a peak got boring rather fast. His desert experiment had been funny, but in all hhonesty a bit futile. There again, the landscape was glorious, and not so boring for it was everchanging, but it was no place to live in, only a place to visit.

In the vast grayness between the plains and the northern forests, Dinaus decided to shape a land where life could be pleasant, and would be ordained according to the natural laws. North of apaté's scar lakes, he rose a first step, creating a vast plateau expanding northwards, a plateau with a slight downwards slope as one moved north. Halfway north, he made the land rise again, creating another plateau, and then another step halfway north again in this huge stair he was building. He thus created 5 plateaux, the biggest to the south, the smallest to the north. In each of these he created equall riches: Trees, sparse in the south, dense in the north, veins of copper, tin, lead and iron ore running under the land and most visible in the steps and cliffs of the plateaux.

The northernmost step reached the lands he had first shaped on this world, and he decided that there, at the junction, he would create yet another step, but not one of stone. He created a waterfall, that fell from clouds above the lands, and these clouds he made so that, should one manage to reach them, one could walk over them, holding the water vapor in place with diamonds, crystals and maybe some lichens.

OOC:
Something like this
Spoiler :

slnesii2.png

Big steps, each step of the stair being as rich as a whole as the next, but the northernmost are smaller, so the southernmost is, for a surface 30 times bigger than the northernmost, as rich as every other in terms of woods and minerals. Probably water too.
The northernmost step is partially covered by solid clouds which rain a waterfall upon the land, probably creating a river. As long as it doesn't create a big lake, Dinaus lets it flow wherever it will.
And that's region 10 btw.
Calling this place 'The Marches' would be fitting.

Blackstorm looked upon the blank land of this realm. He though about what to do. There was a wall of mountains to the north and east, and he was puzzled. Then he had an idea. He took a long pointy stick and drew a deep, wide line across the realm from the northeast mountains to the southwest. There, he dug a deep, wide ditch. Blackstorm filled these with water, to form a wide river and a great lake. Around this he created a great plain, good for farming. Around this he created a ring of mountains, surrounding this, but stopping at the lake.

OOC: Plains, a river running from NE to SW into a large lake, the province surrounded by mountains that stop at the lake
