Caveman 2 Cosmos

Just wanted to thank the team and regular players of C2C. I have finally sad down for a longer game rather than modding at the moment and I am very impressed with all the stuff in the mod. As a modder I always have the urge to stop the game and add stuff that not in the game yet. While this urge has not gone away, I am having lots of fun exploring all the new stuff that I have not personally put in or helped design. So thank you so much C2C team. This mod is turning into all the things I wished the game was plus more! I know how much time and effort it takes, so I cannot thank you guys enough for working along side me in making this mod so awesome!

Keep it up! :worship: :hatsoff:

Awesome, I love it when designer sit down and play their creations, I mean what else is it for than to enjoy?
btw, I finally compiled the RoN intro. Not sure how to get it working, but I think it's pretty simple.
Heres the link.

Yeah right now I am late medieval era. Been holding off gunpowder to savor the entire era. I am #2 in power and #1 is my ally. I have been more warmongerish in this game than I normally am. I have a very eclectic stack, ballista elephants, elephant rider, zebra chariots, bandit riders, horse archers, light cavalry, some siege rams, a catapult, arsonist, bandit footpads, swordsmen, a noble, field general and even Attila the Hun. My civ is a hybrid of American civ but Pericles leaderhead. I have assimilated European and Middle Eastern civs as well a my American base culture. I have built some culture buildings, but always seem to miss the useful units.

So far very fun fun!

Seems as though power lines are no longer providing power. This was build 588 so unsure if it was fixed in a later build, didn't see anything in the SVN log.

They haven't for ages. Poer liens are just a pre-req to USE power. You still need a power station of some sort

D'oh, wans't thinking. Btw The game runs much faster now in the later eras w/many cities. I see the large amount of lag I would get from spreading corporations has also been sigificantly reduced. Very nice.

some notes.
1 why i cant see the great poeple bar
2 every while no one attacks me( i mean it)
every while i get this description
" has attacked you"

When something like this happens (to anyone) always try to include a screenie and a Max Comp savedgame one turn before it happens, thx. But PLEASE post it in the Crashes/Errors thread also.

it happens in random turns so unless i save every turn i cant track it

Sure you can, thats why they made autosave, you can go BACK to your last autosaved game and then proceed from there to where ever the error happens then just Max Comp Save it from there.

1 - you can turn it on or off in the BUG options menu, have a look there and see if it is turned off

2 - I get " has declared war on you" - this is new in version 17, I worked out it's that I play with Barbarian Civs turned on and when a barbarian city evolves into a minor civ they will be in a state of perpetual war with you until they develop inot a proper civ with a leader. So whenever a minor civ arises out of a barbarian city, I get that message. But it didn't do it in previous versions.

also the fact that you made building to produce goods in all cities in continent is not a good thing

1 it is not realistic that a farm can give good to a whole empire
2 what the reason to build the goods buildings in the other cities

Goods represent things (typically components required to make other things) that are traded within your civilization (ever considered where the goat woool for Kashmere sweaters comes from? (hint - not the same place that knits them in most cases)). Latest version gives them only in trade-route-connected cities BTW.

i know but still .if you have many coastal cities then only with one farm you can supply a whole empire(same continent)

this is the save with the "has declared war on you problem.
also around this turns i had an infinitive turn loading problem

Technically, that is the way it has always been in Civ 4. Fake Goods aside, if you had a Pig or Horse or Iron or any other resource connected to one town, it becomes available to ALL your other connected towns, providing :) or :health: etc. Or allowing the other cities to build certain troops.

yes but as i said this in both not realistic and negates the need of building all those good building.

#2. None really if the "good" once built is connected to the other cities by trade routes as Koshling said. So if you build it in another city (as I sometimes do) it's for the extra Gold, hammer, culture, happiness, etc. that the building might give that particular city. Otherwise don't build it.

Now if you build the "Good" in one city and it doesn't show up in the other trade route connected cities then it needs to be reported to Hydro as a bug.

#1. Not true, as has been pointed out.
