Simpsons Mafia (Game Thread)

There was one man who had ignored the meeting with the rest of the town and left for the afternoon. He just wanted to take a break from it all. Goodness knows he was always under stress and had to deal with some mistake or another at work. Funding was perpetually being cut, Springfield Elementary was still underperforming and couldn’t afford to send its kids on field trips even to a place like this zoo anymore.

SouthernKing paused and swatted at the air.

“Hmm, a lot of Tabanids around.” He thought to himself. “Here we go, large mammals ahead. Oh, the children do love this part.”

“Tigers and giraffes and…”

“Oh no”

SouthernKing froze in panic as a memory flashed through his mind.

“Private! Get out of there! Noooooooooo!”

He was standing in front of the elephant enclosure, where a large beast was staring him down.

Before his reflexes allowed him to move out of the way, it swung out its trunk which curled around his torso.

SouthernKing was flung around like a ragdoll and smashed up against a stone wall. Emergency responders found the man severely injured.

He would be in a coma for some time, blissfully unaware of any other events in Springfield.




The rest of the town was going forward with the same business today.

Firstly, there was not so much controversy over releasing another person from jail, when Jarrema was chosen today. It was an exceedingly popular decision and the crowd cheered as a squad car drove up and the man carrying his personal affects stepped out. He was modest and thankful to be free after such a long time.



Unfortunately, there was no clear consensus once more on the other decision.

A couple individual citizens got in quarrels with others, and the mob wanted someone to face justice but couldn’t decide on whom. That was when the the mayor and other officers of the law selected one suspect.

“You there. Don’t move.”

Mergle faced the large crowd gathered around and shuddered.

“Gotta be nice, diddily diddily…”

“Ah hell, diddily ding dong crap! CAN’T YOU MORONS DO ANYTHING RIGHT!?”

A police officer stepped forward, cautious about the safety of the situation.

“What do we have here? The long, flabby arm of the law. The last case you got to the bottom of was a case of Mallomars.”

Turning to another citizen, he continued his rant:

“And as for you, I don’t know you but I’m sure you’re a jerk!”

“Hey, I’ve barely been posting at all.”

Spinning around towards yet another man, he spoke with a somber expression:

“Homer, you are the worst human being I have ever met.”

“I got off pretty easy.” Homer replied as Mergle was finally being hauled away.

After suffering this psychotic breakdown, Mergle would be staying at a mental institution for a while.

I'm not sure what to think about the hospitalization/jailing of Pizzaguy. The fact that he's willing to put someone completely random in jail is questionable, but his behavior strikes me as normal. For him, at least.
I'd rather look into the bandwagoners. Ras, Celt, do you have any contributions of your own?

NIGHT TEN​

Fortunately, Springfield suffered no further attacks to compound the trouble many citizens were already in.

The only significant action of the night was when one man, equipped with certain tools and supplies, made his way to the prison.

Once inside, he found the cell where BigTin was biding his time. The same old type of lock did not provide much more security this time, and with the lack of human security anywhere, both the prisoner and accomplice quickly made their way out.




Summary
- No successful attacks during the night
- BigTin escaped from jail with outside help

In the morning a large crowd proceeded towards the hospital.

First, there was news about the patients attacked a few nights back, which was received quickly.

There was little doubt that Visorslash was targeted because of his celebrity status, but he would be safe here in the hospital and would survive.



Meanwhile, the man pardoned from prison was indeed a longtime criminal, convicted of several felonies in the past. Whatever TheLastDays had done since he got out was unknown, though he too was recovering as a free man.




The people of Springfield were remorseful for their decision the previous day. They had wronged one of the town's most beloved citizens and felt the need to make up for it.

One by one, visitors waited to see Ned Flanders and apologize.

By the time the sun was setting, there had been no attempts at the same process of finding criminals. Instead, citizens were asked to stay safe and dispersed as they went home for another night.


Summary
Citizens of Springfield spent the day being kind to Ned Flanders
No other actions occured

Mayhaps jailing Flanders caused that? It says everyone spent the entire day being nice to him. Out of curiosity, what would have happened if someone ninja'd a vote in?

As for Mergle, whatever. I have no idea who is who, and I was the sole vote on him. Blame yourselves for not having any sort of consensus.

Still no protection for our tracker.

We can let The Bake out of jail tomorrow, he's safe.

Well, the vote count was low [aside: ridiculously and dangerously low, you won't catch scumbags with the vote this easy to disrupt] and I have a double-voting power. It's possible someone else also manipulated the vote, or he was selected randomly from the first-place ties.

I believe the skip is directly related to Ned Flanders being Ned Flanders, it may be an innate ability Mergle never told us about.

That said it's a really freaky one. Would have been nice to get some warning.
