Summary

-Global population more than doubled last year's estimates.
-GDP per capita has increased from $0.49 to $2.34 due to greater productivity and emergence of trade.

White Prelate Dimitri smiled as he read the reports the Violet Prelate - and his third cousin once removed - Locke had handed to him.
The Mobian Empire had the world's second largest GDP, based on estimates, and third largest GNP once investments and trade agreements overseas were factored in. Right off the bat, it was readily apparent the Imperium's economic rival would be the SSRM. ...he only hoped the rivalry would remain peaceful.
"Keep up the good work, Violet. It's important we know what the world holds... it is a dangerous place, if the events across the sea are any indication. Hopefully, it will stay across the sea."
"Of course, Son of Shah." Handed back the folder, Locke bowed respectfully and left, closing the door behind him to get back to work. The Violet Prelate was one of the finest minds in the Imperium, and had many find minds to craft so whenever his life force was snuffed out by Sukaj, god of death, someone of the same caliber could replace him.
The Son of Shah, as the White Prelate was called, said to be a spiritual descendent of Shah, god of law and order, bestower of civil code and justice unto mortals, leaned back in his chair, finger under his chin, as he tried to think of a way to improve the Imperium's position.
Analysing the maps of the region that had been provided, he used his own personal savvy to devise the most efficient allocation of resources. He sent for the Yellow and Red Prelates; he'd need to pass the epiphanies of the Gods unto the lords of the roads and combat.

The oil reserves of the western deserts, and the vast surplus of crops from the Nile, are open to any who'd accept them.
Trade is offered to the SSRM.
It is hoped that, through trade, friendship can be fostered between our peoples.

Our Republic is expanding outward, taking the northern lands and parts of the northern Baltic. To allow the easier administration of the Baltic people, we have rebuilt Pleskovĕ, once the capital of our great and ancient ally. We continue to increase our industry, this time with more ease, having laid our foundations. Our trade relations continue to increase, hopefully bringing good relations likewise. Meanwhile, our republic continues to flourish under Kŏnigĕ Iaroslav Vĕsevolodovits, who has had his fourth son, Vlodimirŏ Iaroslavits, at age 33.Новъградьская Республика

A band of Frankish merchants claiming to be from a nation called "Novogrod" appeared in Kabul offering trade to the Caliphate. Although the merchants appear to be Christian, trade is accepted nonetheless in the name of world peace, so long as the benefits of trade are equally distributed among the population.
However, more worringly, Persian and Arab traders operating in the recently annexed western area of Afghanistan are telling stories of a nation of pagan beastmen who live in Egypt. Although the more level-headed scholars of Afghanistan point out the impossibility of animal-human hybrids, the implication of a major pagan nation so close to the holy cities of Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem worry many of the more devout of the Caliphate. The Mahdi has ordered a party of 500 Muslim missionaries to travel down the Silk Road to Egypt in order to possibly convert them to Islam.
On a lighter note, the Mahdi has ordered the formation of a 5-year plan in order to better improve the industry and infrastructure of the Caliphate. More and more people are flocking to Kandahar and Kabul in order to seek more job opportunities and eek out a better life for themselves. A militia has been raised in order to guard the cities more adequately.

Santos stepped off of the last-generation VTOL - a Raptor class, in this instance - and walked up the steps to the Latin American embassy in Virginia. He wasn't particularly looking forwards to his job - Virginia remained one of Latin America's closest allies. Nevertheless, the economic disparity between the two countries was far too great to continue trading, at least until Virginia's economy improved. Striding forwards, he addressed his Virginian counterpart.
"Espanol?" the ambassador asked.
No response.
"English?" he queried again.
The Virginian diplomat nodded, and led Santos into the building.

Cesar de Zavala stood on the shores of Havana, holding his recently copied (and complete) edition of the book. Though life in Latin America was easily among the best in the world - the Republic was the most industrialised nation on the planet, and had a dramatically higher GDP than any other nation - he could not shake off the feeling of unease that surrounded him. Though the text seemed to indicate that this island - Cuba - and another recent territory - Puerto Rico - were not parts of the original Republic, it did seem to indicate that El Lluvia del Fuego had occured - or, at least, been started - from somewhere on this island....
And if it was in the scientist's book, what connection had their ancestors had to this disaster?...

- Re-establish cities at Cuidad de Panama (Western Panama), Havana (Northern Cuba), and Arecibo (Puerto Rico)
