Pre-SysNES2: Beta-testing and Submission

Nope.

So what? It seems to have escaped your notice that this will not be a computer game - I'm not going to give social adaption to a warm area to someone who hates warm :p. Also if someone likes something about a region, why do you need to adapt them towards it?

Right, sorry, I'm not arguing just for the sake of being a , but because I truley disagree:

Example, exotic.
Give a Deluger an exotic environment, it gives -9 to world value. Give a Praxzen an exotic environment, it gives -2 to world value.
Give both parties "Modification".
The Deluger now has +18 to world value. The Praxzen now has +4 to world value.

Holy doody look at all those Praxgen science.

Holy doody look at all those Praxgen science.

Holy doody look at that Coran innate Networking Effect :p. Speaking of which, we should talk diplo whenever you feel comfortable with the stats and all.

@Dis:
- What happens if two factions order a create roll on the same market on the same turn (especially, but not solely due to some calc inputs, if there's only one free share left)?
- What happens if two factions order a compete roll against the same market share on the same turn (especially, but not solely due to some calc inputs, if the owner only have one total market share)?
- Fairly sure this one is obvious, but will check nevertheless. System has filled shares, Faction A orders a compete roll and destroys a rival share, Faction B orders a create roll.

Nvm, I shall contain my rules questions until the actual NES with the actual ruleset goes up in the near future.

Uhh, sure, qoou, shoot diplo whenever you want.

Unless it involves actual shooting.

In that case **** no.

Spoiler just introducing a few characters go away :
Tirna ran down the dark streets of the Quiet City alone, the lumbering Praxzen with a huge sword right on her tail. This scene was strange for many reasons, or so Tirna thought. She couldn't remember exactly what she did that made the Praxzen so angry... it involved some flightless birds? A cup of coffee? An electronic dating site that she approved the creation of two days ago? Oh, and her comms weren't working. She only got them a few months ago! And why was the city freaking dark at all? It's like perpetually day in the city here and ohgodhe'srightbehindme wait WHAT'S A PRAXZEN ANYWAYS AND WHY THE *$^& IS THIS MANIAC USING A SWORD? WHERE ARE ALL THE AUTHORITHY? DON'T THEY HAVE CAMERAS EVERY FREAKING CORNER?!

She felt the giant hand grab her neck and lift her up. She screamed as she clutched the huge arm, trying desperately to wriggle out of it. The swor-

Tirna grabbed her sandvich and squeezed it until it burst, exploding its content all across the desk, the computer, and her face.

"Tirna, I grabbed the reports that you nee- are you alright?" a male figure that she didn't recognize before showed up in the office. He was carrying a stack of paper just as tall as the stack that was in her "out" box. He didn't grow his hair very long as per the norm, and thus the mass of horn was clearly visible. That made Tirna uncomfortable.

"Yeah I'm alright," she said, wiping some pieces of meat off her face and glasses. "Just had some sandwich malfunction brought on by daydreaming."

"Oh, I heard that you do that! How's it like!" the man said excitedly, leaning forward towards her. The horn was even more visible to Tirna now. Tirna jerked a little back instinctively. She didn't like people getting too close to her. It made them notice that she lacked a horn.

Not only did she not have a horn, but her genes and the immune system was completely incompatible with the current Coran Map IO devices. She chuckled, adjusted her AR glasses a bit, and replied:

"I strangled someone with my bare hands," she said.

"Well, um, okay then," the man said, reaching across the table with one hand towards her out box and then putting the stack that he was holding into her "in" box.

"I'll just put this here."

"Thanks."

She sighed at the insanely large stack of paper before her. While most transactions used the Coran Map nowadays, there were just some people who insisted on having physical evidence. The higher ups of many companies in Cora didn't really care for that. Hell, they sometimes acted annoyed for having to SPEAK instead of being able to mind-text someone. So that's where people like her, either foreign workers or native-born Corans with defects, came in.

"An order for two boxes of- who the hell needs a signature for that..." she mumbled out aloud as she flipped through the papers, checking the details with the data fed through her computer screen. She noticed a bit of lettuce stuck on the screen and flicked it off.

One good thing about the Coran Illuminate is that it never really forgot about its people, or so they said. An Illuminated One assigned to her sent her a mind-text every once in a while to check her status. They easily found jobs for her. Except she hated her job. So frak them.

*Ding*, a new message. It was probably just another thing that the guy forgot to print out to give to her. She clicked on the message...

"Hey, this isn't a..." she lifted one eyebrow as she noticed the seal of the Illuminate on the center of the paper. It was addressed to her?

Could it be?

"YES. YES. YES. FRAK YES," She yelled out loud. Her coworkers all suddenly leaned out of their cubicles to look at her.

"Aw, hell, finally," she said, shaking her head. Coworkers silently stood still-Tirna knew that they were "talking" to each other- before a few of them approached her.

"Is it good news?" they asked. "Did they finally find a way to make you See the path as we do?"

"Oh no," she said. "They just accepted my request to move to Cathedral F."

Pause. The coworkers looked at each other.

"We are sorry," they said simultaneously.

"Oh frak you guys," Tirna said out loud. The men giggled before returning to their posts. She sighed happily and leaned back on her chair. The letter simply claimed to have found a place for her within the outpost. It is a vacuum and frigid as hell there, but surely that had to be better than this freaking job.

Has anyone else have problems getting the new Economics excel spreadsheet? When I click on it, it says "Invalid Attachment specified"

Cells L6 and L7 on the ship designer's Design. They say that Orbital Installations can be 4 times as big/massive while Planetary Installations can be 2 times as big/massive. That's in contradiction with the thread (and S5), which says 4/2:big/massive for Orbital and 2/4:big/massive for Planetary. This actually has a huge impact on me.

my bad, no changes allowed though.

dis, I'm having problems with the feasibility of the ship designs you asked of me - can you hop on #nes if you have a chance since I can't contact you privately?

actually, fck secrecy, here's the problem i'm having:

You asked for:
[08:55] <dis> A. A long range IS colony vessel (range >5) with ample cargo room and
[08:56] <dis> carrier space. Can carry weapons if you like, and you can set it up as a command vessel if you have the room

My current tech only gives me access to burst drives, which means I require a ridiculous amount of them to exceed 5 range to have the requisite 4x habitat section 1x supply section necessary. At my construction level, that would leave space for only one hanger and one cargo bay, not enough space for the other designs you desired (and make the ship essentially useless as a carrier, anyway). Even 5 range is a massive headache; something more reasonable for my tech level to carry the ships you wanted would be like 3 IS range.

?

31 x Burst Drive
1 x Basic Fusion Core
3 x Deuterium Drives
1 x Recyclers
3 x Habitat Section
1 x Supply Section
3 x External Hangers
3 x External Pods
1 x Command Deck
1 x Water Suspension (Refined)

It's the > and not = to 5 that had him saying that. Ironically, I gave him almost exactly the same design as advice:

[10:42:38] +SymphonyD: 32 Burst Drive, 1 Basic Fusion Core, 3 Deuterium Drive, 1 Recyclers, 3 Habitat Section, 1 Supply Section, 3 Internal Hangars, 3 Cargo Bay, 1 Water Suspension (Refined), 1 Scanners
[10:42:40] +SymphonyD: Enjoy.
Hangar space is kinda crap but you skew it more towards Hangars over Bays and it gets a bit better (especially since you have 5 Range anyway.)

Dis your design only provides for 28 size to carry ships... which makes it really difficult to stuff in multiple fighters and the heavy lander you asked for, and it = 5 range instead of > 5 range. I can change the specs to 4 hangers vs 1 cargo bay, but it's still squeezing for space, and I honestly think a 3 IS range ship would be far more practical. What exactly is the motivation to ask me to design one with >5 range, especially since my people haven't actually ventured outside of the Glon system yet, anyway?

At IS 5, your ship can access low energy range jumps. See the map for more details.

Mm, I suppose that could be useful, but with my current tech limitations, jumping beyond the immediate neighborhood with the hope of colonization seems like it could be overreaching.

EDIT: We're talking about range, not IS rating, so that's not even relevant.
