Capto Iugulum

Statsminister Anders Kristiansen of Vinland notes his appreciation for the Empire of Scandinavia's concern, and reaffirms once again the unique relationship that exists between our two sovereign nations.

From: Empire of Scandinavia
To: Concerned Parties

It is noted that the Empire of Scandinavia abides by "Resolution 002" to the exclusion of the Kingdom of Vinland, whereby it is agreed we are endowed with the rights to maintain the "special relationship" between Scandinavia and Vinland and provide whatever aid, succor, etc. that we may consider appropriate or Vinland may request or be interested in, as well as maintain all existing ties.

OOC: Interesting, that. Right now, the rest of you chaps have to stay out of the West, what with world peace and all that. But us, we have a special relationship with these Vinland blokes, so... except us.

Statsminister Kristiansen notes that Vinland and Scandinavia present a unique case of two sibling nations, and that Vinland strongly hopes that Scandinavians shall never need to cross the Atlantic in our defense.

to Naples:
We can only agree to a ceasefire without one between you and the Pope if the Freidman Proposal will be upheld even if you win against the Pope, and perhaps improved to force the papacy only to the Vatican with Rome as the true capital of Italy. I think we both can agree on that.

OOC: I will send new orders in a few moments.

OOC: I'm just being snarky. :mischief:

OOC: Well, you raised a decent point, so I addressed it in case anyone else wanted to approach it in an IC manner. ;)

"Those international obligations and diplomatic agreements were meaningless. Commitments? Pshaw! I have a declaration right here that says I don't need to bother with you fellows ever again. Toodles, Herr Kristiansen!" ;)

We would agree to this, we wish for a united Italy with the least amount of bloodshed possible.

We second that motion. A united Italy, to the choice of the people, with as little bloodshed as possible.

Don't give us a reason to cross the border and everything will be just fine.

OOC: Someone please just burn down all of Italy. To the ground. No survivors. And then just start all over again. It's not genocide. It's correcting an error.

If any of our plans of economic development, industrialization and national defense provide you with a reason, please give us advance warning so that we may avoid the bloodbaths that tend to develop in Europe over minor matters.

Our greatest concern is Vinnish support for the guerrillas in New England. Should we discover that Vinnish public monetary or arms support is given to the guerrillas, we will demand some sort of compensation.

Once again, we reassure you that we see absolutely nothing to gain from destabilizing the government of the United States of America, especially given that the present American government has taken progressive actions in its domestic affairs which Vinland views favourably. You have my word and the word of my government that we will provide no support of any kind for these gerillas.

We're glad to hear this. We were not implying that the Vinnish government was supporting the guerrillas. We were merely giving Vinland the "advanced warning" asked for.

Brandenburg notes that only the Italian Republic and the Kingdom of Naples have accepted the Friedman Proposal. If the Papal States and the Kingdom of Sardinia do not accept at the base minimum a ceasefire with all parties, Brandenburg and Austria will send the German Expeditionary Force to maintain peace, and if necessary, to remove Papal control of their military

We ask permission to work with the German Expeditionary Force in enforcing the Friedman Proposal.

To: All involved with the Italian incident

If the Pope refuses then we shall just have to force him to cooperate. We will remove the Pope from power and take over the Papal States if he does not wish to agree to the Friedman Proposal, then after that we will not allow the Pope to rule Rome and there will be an election among Italy to determine the rightful leaders. A new Pope will have a place in Italy should our leadership be elected, but with the current Pope's actions we cannot allow the Pope his own nation to rule over as that would jeopardize those Italian's freedoms.
