WHich direction he should go after seeing 2 gold and a wet corn just next to that clam......

Are you using the flying camera trick again? You know that's a no-no. :nono:

Haha., something along the lines of what Neil said. But more seriously. I don't know. And it's this not knowing that makes me want to stop and talk. I'm hoping it's not just more plains and 4-food food specials. If it is maybe don't stop, since that would just be depressing. :(.

I'm easy either way. The good thing about not getting screenies early is that they are then easier to analyse, as you carry no prejudice's and you see everything at once.

Like neilmeister, I'm fine with playing the whole 30 or pausing after turn 4 for demo screen reading.

However, the relevant question (I think) is would we see anything in the demo screen that would make us alter our plan? I'm not convinced we would, and if Chris saw anything really out of the ordinary, he would pause anyway.

Edit: To be clear, I'm fine with stopping and talking earlier if that makes people more comfortable.

OK, played 4 turns, no surprises. I'll hold off a few hours for people to comment on the warrior path.

Neil was right about the flood plain and there are no visible resources in the SIP location, so we didn't lose out on much (though we likely moved away from copper or horses or iron or some such). There is a silk off to the west. In the south, we found gems and pigs, both overrun by jungle. There's a great coastal clams/gems/pigs city waiting for us after we get iron working and clear that jungle.

Paris's borders expand

My demographics guesses:

  • At least two coastal AI, probably more
  • Only one AI with more water than us
  • At least one expansive AI with more health than us
  • No creative AI

Anyone want to take a stab at looking through the demographics to calculate likely and impossible opponents and their city situations?

Calculating as we speak.

Edit: Is there an article that actually explains what all of the demographics mean?

Thanks. The GNP explanation does seem a bit unclear to me actually. I've been trying to work out how to get the GNP calculated but I don't even know how it works!

Green from me. Let's see what's out there. Especially since the best city site we see requires IW to access, which could impact our tech stealing objective.

Yes. Green light. This will just be some info that may help for a while whilst we explore

Can I get a demographics screenshot for Turn 5? I believe that is when they get the border pop.

OK, I played two more turns, and we met Brennus of the Celts.

Spoiler :

His scout came from the south and is 5 spaces from our capital on turn 6, so the Carthaginian capital is at most 15 spaces from ours.

And here is the turn 5 demographics screen for Revent.

I don't think this changes anything yet, since we still need to find a second city site. I propose to continue the turnset as planned. Do I have a green light?

edit: d'oh, Brennus is Celtic, not Carthaginian. Corrected above.
