SGOTM 16 - Maple Sporks

There is bound to be copper on that grass hill to our west east that we have just moved away from... :)

That would be nice, as it would give fish city some base production. It should probably get Maoi in that case :D

I played until the worker is in. Poooooooooooooor land!

Warrior was attacked by a lion on a ForestHill, is still recovering now.
Buddhism founded in 3720bc (turn 7)
Hinduism founded in 3600bc (turn 10)
No human barbs yet
No contact with AI yet

It seems we are in the northern hemisphere, at the end of a continent/large island. More to explore to the west and south.

Plan: farm the corn then mine the PH next to corn (I suggest to cottage the FP later on, not farm it), continue scouting anti-clockwise. Stop when BW is in.

Huh, there's no creative civ besides us. Now I'm going to have to figure out how any non-creative AI can have a commerce of 20 at the start.

Other then that, it looks like we've got at least two civs starting with Myst.

Anyway, the land looks poor indeed, but we should be able to settle a bunch of whipping cities. Here's to hoping for a greener south.

Plan looks good, but put a turn into a road 1W of the Cap (cancel immediately) on the way to the corn.

Thank heavens we are creative regarding the pig/fish/deer spot!

Plan is okay.

After BW, AH and fishing look obvious, with hunting possibly squeezed in. We'll discuss that later. :)

Here's what I've got:
Apart from the 16 everyone starts with (1 city tile, 1 basebeaker, 14 palace), there's 4 more commerce needed to make 20.
My first guess was Creative (+2) and a 2-commerce tile, but that was proven untrue.
The problem is, I can't think of any other solution, as there are no 4 commerce tiles at game start.
Three commerce tiles is doable with Fin, but then there's still 1 commerce missing. While it is possible to get that from the city center by settling a resource. With Fin, it would end up as +2 for the city center, giving a total of 21. Without Fin, there are no 3 commerce tiles, and the city center would have only +1, meaning a total of 19.
So, in all, I have no clue at all.

And there's at least 1 Coastal civ, with 2 a very likely thing, but not a certainty.

I was thinking of Pottery after BW, for a cottage on the FP, and granaries... But that'll just be a placeholder and can be discussed further later on

Do we have enough Okays for me to continue? Hands up please

I thought of farming the FP most definitely, so yeah, we'll have something to discuss later on. :p

For now surely hands up, little that can be discussed, really. :)

*waves enthusiastically*

Yeah, we can discuss further techplans when BW is in.

Yeah, nothing too pressing to discuss until we have BW. *waves*

BW is in, see if you can spot the Copper in our BFC:

I can't, neither anywhere else in our lands

On turn 20 in the South West we meet the founder of Buddhism, and put our EP on +1 against him:

Here's the southwestern lands. Warrior is about to turn east again taking our soon to expand borders into account.

I believe we might not be alone with Brennus on our continent, since he has only 1 city, but Buddhism has 14% influence against 7% for Hinduism. He must have spread it to someone else already. Or is it population points, and is his city size2, and the Hindu city size 1?

As long as you interpret 1W as 1E we'll be fine. :p

Don't worry, I did. (didn't notice the mix up actually). As long as we all talk the same mixed up language, it doesn't really matter, does it :)

Got it! Won't play for a while though. :)

No bronze, I'll bet you anything we don't have horses either. I'm sure kcd wanted to make the stealing-or-not of IW a bit more interesting... Archery anyone? Going to look at the save now.

Edit, btw the link to the save as you posted it won't work for me... This might work better.
