NinNES I: Antiquity Broken

Persis has three days (rl hours) to answer our offer.

To: Phoenicia
From: Assyria
We will give you 1x Stone for 1x Ivory.

OOC: What are the effects of those resources?

OOC: Stone gives defensive bonuses, Ivory EP and a currently un-developed bonus. War elemphants.

To: Assyria

We reject your "offer" and look forward to meeting you on the field of battle!

OOC: Ninz, can you explain to me how creating new units works?

Sure thing.

One of the main methods is TP investure, which will allow you develop an advanced unit. Currently, only Phoenicia's Pikeman and Troy's Catapult has shown the results of such. These units are generally much better and cost-efficient than anything else you'll find. However, TP investure is nigh impossible for tribes, and the social reformation is what unlocks practical TP use.

Alternatively, you could spend money on a project designed to unlock a certain type of unit. However, you need to already have access to the correct materials and tech. Mercenaries and Chariots are examples of this. People there knew how they worked, but lacked the infrastructure to produce said units. "Mercenary Contracts" and "Chariot Construction" represent this.

Got it, social reformation first and then new units.

Unfortunately, we will have to reject that offer, as we are already receiving stone from Hellas. However, we can offer you these elephants if you provide us wheat so our people will not want for food.

We would be willing to make this trade.

And to Persis: we give you one last chance. If you do not accept you will be annexed and your royal family executed. If you accept you will have relative autonomy as well as protection from all threats.

You have one last chance.

OOC: Nintz, how many units does Persis have?
And why didn't the reform I asked you to implement happen?

OOC: Hey Ninz, can you tell me if my eastern expansion will count as a project or not? And how do you remove the annoying winky face at the top of this post?

The Evolution of Norwegian Society

With the unification of the tribes under one strong ruler, the society of the Norwegians began to evolve away from their tribal roots. A strong military and a solid workforce allowed for wealthier men to sustain themselves off of other professions. This lead to a split in the social classes as two major classes emerged. The first were the people of heaven and the second were the people of earth.

The people of heaven sustained themselves off of the work of the people of earth. No longer having to waste time on substance farming they became artisans, governors, and most commonly priests. They derived their name from the fact that they spent a majority of their time thinking of the divine and their creations or on creating new inventions themselves such as sturdier housing in the case of some artisans.

The people of earth far outnumbered the people of heaven, they were the workers and the warriors. They were named the people of earth since their lives were devoted to earthly matters, such as farming the inhospitable soil or fighting the wars of mortals.

The High King was considered to be a man of both worlds, heaven and earth in equal amounts. He was given the blessing of the gods to rule over men and lead them into glorious battle to expand his kingdom.

ooc: all the norse heroes have different names, so that would be nice !

OOC: Hmm? What do you mean by that?

The only hero unit i've created was my king and he has a name.

ooc : now i am confused each of the heroes have different names in Age of Mythology , isnt it ?

Very true, the heisiers (The unit my king is) in particular have a large bank of names that they can take. You can tell what unit is a hero by a yellow glow surrounding him. Note that no unit except my king has that glow, so there are no other hero units for me to name.

@ CivDad-

I slightly tweaked the rules. Instead of leader name, I need "dynasty name".

We spit on you, you mangy dog. Damn you, damn your father, damn your 7th grandfather! War it is!

OOC: Persis has high discipline, but much fewer units and a smaller income than yourself at this point.

Also, your people are more or less religiously united right now, thus it didn't have an effect.

@ Patchy-

Military and economic expansion are both possible. You do do one, the other, or a combination for extra effect. Also, try editing the post and un-selecting the post icon at the bottom of the window.

Orders incoming.

Also, Nintz, you completely ignored the diplomacy I posted in my last orders. I'll post it here.

Sorry about that. In my defense, I told everyone repeatedly to separate NPC diplo and orders.
