SGOTM 16 - U'nu'sual S'us'pec'ts

End of Turn 165

Everything went according to plan. I whipped where we said we were going to. I made the trades we planned on. And I moved the Vienne task force into position.

Trades Made:

Spoiler :

Renegotiated this one:

Brennus' Turn:

Spoiler :

The fool attacked the original scouting crossbow with his city's one longbow. The longbow is now at 1.5 strength. We have pretty good odds against him.

This is what's now in Vienne:

The stack moved to the fort!

Possible Military Responses:

Spoiler :

It seems to me we have two main options.
1) Move most our stack to copper and hope that Brennus attacks across the river. With the 25% odds if he attacks we will take him.
2) Stay in our cities and see where he goes. This might be safer? But then we'd have to attack him. And given the diversity of both of our stacks, I want him attacking us. And I want him doing it soon so we can get on with the war

New Cities:

Spoiler :

Whipping the forge it is. Courthouse will come next. Same thing in Ski Resort

Actually, I think this city should go Forge -> Granary -> Courthouse. Or maybe even granary first?

Trade Offers:

OK, green from me, no wait......

Is brennus going to attack across a river?

I find it more likely that if we leave bibracte, he will go for bibracte, moving to the forest

I am actually going to choose secret option C, leave nothing in Camel town, and put the mini stack 1SE, so that the chariots cannot get to camel town. He will move the stack to the village. Attack his stack there

Edit: sell the map to hammy, its a good price and he cannot trade it on yet

He can't reach Bibracte. If he doesn't attack us at copper but instead moves to Bibracte, we move the stack back to Bibracte where we will definitely crush him.

I THINK he can't get to Bibracte except with the chariots. Somebody verify please?

I agree that if we pull everything out of Bibracte he'll move there. I like neil's plan.

And this is why the BUFFY log can be so important...

Also, gotta like that shrine income in Bibracte.

How on earth do they know each other? Neither has optics

How on earth do they know each other? Neither has optics

It might be worth checking the Relations screen at this point to see who has contact with who. I can't since I'm at work.

Most of his stack is promoted with CR, and the GW's get an extra 10% city attack. So +35% City attack, and we will have burned our fortify bonuses by moving. I would much rather wait a turn and either attack him in the open, or keep our fortify bonuses if he does move on bibracte

I just checked the 1050 save and Ramesses II and Saladin did not know each other. The only thing I can think is that there must be an island passageway in the north - there's a lot of unexplored territory up there.

In the land of bizzaro, the 1060 save shows Saladin and Ramesses II *not* knowing each other.

p.s. I'm with Neil, I think. I'd rather not see us lose our fortification bonuses.

p.p.s. I'm also with Revent, our GPP is very low and slow - we need to be in Caste soon.

No probs regarding gpp, gp farm has all its available pop working specialists.

Even if we are a little slow, once we have sushi and 20 specialists in gp farm, the great people will be popping out

In the land of bizzaro, the 1060 save shows Saladin and Ramesses II *not* knowing each other.

So I assume this means that they do not know each other as far as game mechanics are concerned, and that this is just a glitch in BUFFY?

Neil's plan it is for that war zone.

In Vienne I'll move everything to the spot where the longbow is. I don't think brennus will attack us.

The rest of the empire is still in the PPP.

I will trade for hammy and his map.

Green me or tell me what to do!

Well, as great as that is it's past the time in which GP's are SIGNIFICANTLY useful. :p As you can see, GP's only save us like 5 turns per tech or so and then eventually, they may go as little as 1-3 turns!

Edit: No green from me yet! Sorry but I'm in the process of Bur Vs FS and where to build OU. It's A LOT of work so it's taking time :( BUT I don't have work tomorrow so I'll be up late doing the calculations. It's a lot to post in a post so I'm going to be attaching a spreadsheet if that is fine. :)
