The Entrance to the Bay:

I cancelled our fish for 1 gpt with SB to re-do it for 2 gpt, but then he wouldn't trade for fish.

We could trade corn as we're about to get a new one:

Some War Moves:

Spoiler :

Who said no pain no gain?

Ben Was Stupid / Brennus Was Smart

Spoiler :

Odds at Vienne are good and he didn't whip another longbow. I say the longbows all bombard and then we take the city with the 4 maces.

Brennus' move was smart. But he can't reach any city with anything except the chariots. And we have a lot more movement possibility than he does.

Edit: and hang on, how did you whip the forge and the mish.... didn;t know you could whip 2 units in the same turn

Heck yeah you can man! I've whipped up to 4 things before on one turn.

Ooookay.

He moved towards Tolosa because that was the least defended City. You were supposed to leave CamareDumDum empty.

Need some time to come up with a strategy.....

Ohhhhhh. I'm sorry, I thought I understood that,:sad:. I thought you wanted me to move the units that were in it down, and the units in the forest into Camera. I guess we should just hold our ground and see where he goes?

So, so sorry again.

No probs, I shouldn't have been so sarcastic.... we can recover from this.

Will the chariots split up from the stack? Or is Brennus going to keep them all together. My testing last night made it seem like a pikeman with combat one, and a mace with combat 1 and Shock can take down almost the whole stack barring something unlucky.

Also, will he change his target now that he's set on Tolosa?

His combined stack strength is greater than ours. Doesn't look very good imo. Plus, he does suicide units quite a bit (due to belief that he has a higher chance of winning than is actually so)

This is just wrong though! He's got more units. Nothing else?

Results from yesterday

Here it goes:

The plan is to have enough units in each of the 3 cities so that we can defend against the 6 Chariots that can attack any of them:

We also now want them to continue to Tolosa, as that is where he seems to want to go. So we need to leave that the least defended.

We also want to move the killer part of our stack to somewhere they can reach his stack in the open.

Move all of the trebs outside CameraDumDum inside it.
Move Super medic and Pike into CameraDumDum as well.
Move the 2 Maces outside CameraDumDum to Tolosa
Move Sugar Gems spear to CameraDumDum (arrives next turn)

Move 4 maces, 2 xbows & 2 cats from Bibracte to the PH south of Tolosa - within range of Bibracte & Tolosa and of wherever he moves his stack. If he keeps moving towards Tolosa, then this mini-stack can move into Tolosa and still attck his stack on the same turn.

Bombard Vienne with all 3 Trebs, attack with 3 maces, pray all 3 win. :please:, move last Mace back to Bibracte. edit: Do this first, before you move the Bibracte units, just in case

This will all leave:
CameraDumDum: 2 Maces, 1 Xbow, 5 Trebs, 1 Spear, 1 Pike, 1 super-medic
Tolosa: 1 Xbow, 1 Treb, 2 Maces
Bibracte: 2 Trebs, 1 Cat, 2 Maces, 1 Xbow, 1 Pike, 1 LB, 1 spear, 1 medic (upgrade the spear)

Floating: 4 maces, 2 X-bows, 1 Cats

More general question.

Neil, what made you think that Brennus would move to the town if he was targeting Camera dumdum? Why wouldn't he still move to the forest?

Good point, so I'm not only nasty, I'm dumb!

Perhaps another option is that we could take Vienne, ceasefire, take a turn to organise all our units and declare again. Diplo is irrelevant since he's dying anyway and other AI haven't met him yet.

THIS!!!!!!!

I didn't even think of this, but it is briliant!!!

Actually, I just checked, and we can get peace for:
Thebes (I know!!)
40 Gold
3 GPT

I think Revents first suggestion of the cease fire is better, as we can position our stack so we can break the cease fire and attack the Brennus SoD in a turn or 2

edit: After we take Vienne of course.

Would capturing Vienne affect this? That is, if we capture Vienne would Thebes become his new capital? Or are captured cities not on the list/low on the list of capital priorities?

Yeah, as tempting as Thebes is, I think this leaves us better positioned.

Probably, but I think we just want the cease fire. He should take a cease fire even oif we take Vienne.

We can still attack his stack next turn, just on our terms.

Thebes is currently in revolt. Imagine if it rejoined the Egyptians and was Brennus's last city  Would save us quite a bit of work

Ceasefire would let us fight his stack on our terms :)

part -turn mini plan copyright by Revent

Bombard Vienne with the 3 Trebs, and take it with 3 Maces.
Then ask Brennus for a cease-fire.

Green from me, since I just got this video of the situation in Tolosa.
