SGOTM 16 - Plastic Ducks

All the front cities will be whipped at small size, basically size of number of food resources +1~2, so Tours will hardly works on those plain tiles when producing units. Afterwards, cottages are better to balance the happiness and commerce.

Edit: therefore, 2 plain cottage improvement should be enough for Tours for a while, you can then road towards the barbarian city (offer the chance of capturing workers) and send 1 more worker to the clam/iron city.

Micro in Dij, before Hindu spread there, you can hold the OF from gra whip by building wealth.

Yes, I may consider this. Cottaging can save 1 work turn also. It depends on how urgent the situation is.

Micro in Dij, before Hindu spread there, you can hold the OF from gra whip by building wealth.

The granary cannot be whipped at 12/24 in that way. This is a trade off between 12h and 6f. BTW, Hindu missionary could have arrived there 1 turn earlier actually, if my galley had not been distracted by one babarian galley. This time, I was involved in 3 wars with babarian galleys. I need to consider which waste is more probable, the waste on more galleys or the waste on more WBs if pillaged. Currently, I still lean to take the waste on WBs because of its lower cost and the short period before the cities can fogbust most coastal tiles.

When running tests, you can take away any unexpected issues like barbarian. In real game, you need to consider how to deal with. The way is to put 1 turn on trireme immediately when trireme is available. Chart is the best place.

Your test also solved shakabrade's puzzle, barbarian galleys do spawn in hemisphere map.;)

One unexpected thing happened: Brennus asked for code of laws.

My opinion is to give him, so he can build some courthouses for us. What's your thought?

I cannot save, so I'll wait for 1 hour and play again.

Brennus is now spreading buddism in our land instead of judaism. Consider train some missionaries again.
Because of this change, the first Christian missionary goes to Orleans to get lower failure rate at turn 132. Brennus fails to spread buddism in Orlean at the next turn.

The Colossus is completed by an unknown civilization at T132

1 mistake in the play caused a loss of 2f13h4c.

Some of the tile differences are corrected, but there're still some differences from real game.
1. In the real game, the resources are traded for 6 gold/turn.
2. the worker macro at Poiters is different since the forest does not exist in the real game.
3. the worker macro at Gre is different because two Brennus units threaten the barb city for 2 turns.

Looks good, sossos.

Some screenshots are much better than the wall of text dumped by BUFFY.:)

I'm afraid not... maybe I can scrap a few turns together this weekend but even then it's a stretch.

Nonetheless, there are still 4 available players in the rotation at the moment, you guys should manage ;)

On the game:
-The Chariot by Chinook is preventing the barb worker from leaving the city.
-a few tiles can be changed
-blast! I forgot that borders don't expand beyond 2 tiles on water... we'll never flip Aryan with Chartres.

:goodjob:

shakabrade is UP then. Time for conquering!:D Some appetizers/barbarian cities 1st.

2. the worker macro at Poiters is different since the forest does not exist in the real game.

Your should not change the city location, there's a plain forest for chop 1E of the Iron.

:goodjob:, sossos.
Nice pace.

I should be able to test/play next days so it is fine with me to take the turn set.

Now have to rest. Exhausting week.

@DW

I got some problems to upload the pictures. Let me try to post directly here.

This picture is to show the Egyptian cities. 9 Brennus cities and 8 Egyptian cities are all connected by scouting this way. Christian holy city is found.

No other important finding... 2 Brennus units are scouting our territory.

I didn't change, but the tiles in the real game are different from the testing file.

I can settle 1N of the current location but I have to lose more grasslands that way.

Thanks. I'm a bit frustrated as I made a stupid mistake.

The chariot at Chinook is only going to that position in the last turn because the babarian workers build a road on the suger tile. As the babarian archer can harass Poiters with that road, the chariot may go to Poiters to defend.

My impression was that you settled on the desert tile 1E of the clam in the test game, that was also I mentioned in previous post. That site gets more workable tiles, 1 turn earlier to settle, and a forest which was convenient to chop into granary. Anyway, it's not a big deal. In this stage, only major strategical decision like tech path will have effect on the final result .

BTW, where was the barbarian galley from, that was a close battle!:goodjob:

You could choose a free site to upload your picture there.

And who is Vivec Shaka?

You are on deck now, hope you behave like a dragon then:D

@DW

It emerged from the coastal tile 2NW of the babarian city.

My free site is down. Do you have any recommendation?.

So the barbarian city produced it, smart.

I'm using photobucket right now, the img code tag is quite convenient.
