SGOTM 16 - Plastic Ducks

Assuming he sends a caravel to the other continent, can Ramses bribe someone on us when we DOW?

Trade Engineer with paper+optics+40 gold

Here's the snapshot of what Ram is building. He still focus on buildings. He can get Nat in 6 turns now. I need to hurry up.

Looks good.

We have ~5 turns to send 2 stacks into attacking positions (to land on 1NE of Ele and 1E of Hel). Each stack has 5~6 mace + 2 swords + 1 treb + 6 catas + 1Pike/LB, Doubt that we can have other new produced units ready.

Switch to OR and then start to whip those infras next turn. Start to 100% research on T173 and push to Steel.

Bib should keep on buildings not CMs, you can let Dur produce CMs instead, 2 pops whip can gives 2 CMs.

No barrack in Paris. Aqu or Colosseum.

Vis should be Forge->FP

Remember to dump the OF to Miao when Stone is ready 2 turns later.

PPP of the next 6 turns.

Research plan,
Go for Edu now. No tasks in Capitol now.
After Edu, I prefer to researching printing press then waiting for more lib/salon/universities.

War plan(logistics)

Spoiler :
Forgot to mention: Brennus was dead.
Whip/whip/whip. 20 units + 4 trebs+1pike+1LB should be on board in 6 turns. 15 units(4trebs+1pike+1lb + 4mace+2swords+1medic+2cats) will go to elephantine first. The second 15 units will move late to the NW of Thebes
One spy may be trained with OF.
Leave 1 mace 1 swords 1 cat at Brennus's cities to defend.

Build plan

Civic switched back to ORG.
Bib will build some missionaries as only 2 cities will be covered by Ram. (Edit: yes, Bib is another capitol, focusing on infra)
Paris may build barracks and some units before it can build universities
Besides the cities whipping units, most cities are still focusing on infra. The priority depends.
OF to moai

Improvement plan

pillage the cottages with chariots.
Workers focus on farming/windmill. Prepare to chop Taj.

Folks, please add more.

I'll be interested in seeing our gpt once the GA ends (and the new cities come out of revolt). If it drops quite low (I'm guessing in the +150 range), there might be a case for Banking before Steel. It's a cheap tech anyway but a few Banks could really be worth it. We're not getting it in a trade for a long time.

What to do with new GM: another cash mission?

It might be worthwhile making a short list of various cities' roles in the future.

As Duckweed pointed out, Bibracte should focus on buildings so that it can get Ironworks online ASAP.

What's use of Aqu and Colosseum now?

Others are fine to me. The war may bring more.

We could get Guild and likely Bank when we cap Hammy, bank is useless for more than 10 turns since we will start researching in 2 turns.

GP cities(10 food surplus?)
Wonder cities(Paris/Bib/Memphis/Thebes)
Navy cities (5~10 food surplus+coastal)
cottage cities(Lyon+Tours?)
hammer cities with farms and work shops for units.(Almost all other cities?)

Will the war be ended by T200?

Lyons and Tours are possibly still making troops due to Barracks (Cannons).

Banking is useful after we run out of cash, which won't be that long (8 turns + 5 if we do another trade mission). By my estimate, we'll be running about +150 gpt at 100% gold, 1g = 2b at the moment... 15t delay on Banking means 600g for Paris alone... ah well. Hope some AI researches down that path.

I unfortunately don't have time to test to see, modelling the comparison out of thin air is never definitive unless you have a good model and account for all variables.

The cost of Guild and Banking is not trivial. Paris will need to produce Univ + Taj + OU, Other cities also have a lot to produce. The war with Ram will be ended soon since we don't need to capture all his cities in one shot so that we can turn to Ham and cap him in 20~25 turns from now.

@sossos

Agree with PP before Steel beeline as long as the cash is enough in one shot.

Yes, I think we can discuss more about the tech path.

The war vs Hammy should not be too difficult as he has been focusing on wonders/techs for such a long time. Most of his lands are lack of hammers.

The current slider can only support 45% Tech, this means that Banks are as good as the universtiy of a phi leadter. However, as we still have a lot infra(with higher return rate) to whip right now, maybe banking is still inferior to PP.

It's too late and I have to think about it more in my dreams.

Guild and Bank are free when we cap Hammy, so that researching it ourselves does not worth.

Make sure to put ~400B into Nat so that we don't need to pay cash for the trade. Edit: maybe just trade away PP + Astro, 400B is not trivial.

Several questions left.

pp or Edu first? I need to count the village/town tiles and the return rate of the top 6 universites tonight and decide. As Paris is idle now, instinctly I may go Edu first. Tech trade for Nat is another pro.

How to deal with the new GM? With one more GM, the importance of Banking is even lower in the short term. I still prefer to send it away as it does more good to beeline steel or Sushi.

When to research constitution? Shall we convert to Repre + Mercantlism in the next GA? If yes, whipping happiness infra may get more priority.
