Brave New World's 9 new Civs

Trung Sisters, or just Trung Trac, the more "important" one, could be a Vietnamese female leader. Indonesia/Majapahit also has Tribuhawana (however you spell that). Both would be qualified choices for their respective civs, though the Trung sisters more so because they're seen as one of the most important national heroes of Vietnam (if not the most important, given that they led the first major fight against the evil Chinese - which is a reoccuring theme in Vietnam's narrative of its own history).

If Italy is in, it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect Queen Margherita, Caterina Sforza, or Lucrezia Borgia.

Personally, I'd want Caterina of the three; she is amazing in Assassin's Creed II

I could see Italy as the one with another female leader, though they already have a European female leader this round. Then again that didn't stop them from adding a bunch of female leaders from Europe in G&K.

Am I the only one who thinks they'll add another western NA tribe to replace the Pueblo? Ute maybe? A northwestern tribe would be awesome imo.

I do expect a replacement NA civ and I really hope it's from the west. I've sort of been using "Sioux" as proxy for "some other tribe which could fit in an after-P slot." Here are some Western tribes which work: Shoshoni, Ute.

And that's about it for "rock-star famous." Of course, there are a whole lot of other groups and I'm just doing this quickly. Please correct me if I'm missing some with "brand recognition" (admittedly not a stated requirement), but that's who I can think of out west.

Western groups who'd be awesome but wouldn't work alphabetically: Nez Perce, Navajo, Comanche, Hopi, Paiute, Blackfoot, Pawnee, Chumash, Zuni.

Who else? Maybe the Yokut or Yaqui? I know their names because I'm out west. Not sure they're well known elsewhere?

I want Garibaldi.

Meanwhile I still prefer a Medici or Garibaldi, I have to say, from the female leaders, Caterina Sforza dressing something like [this] would be awesome. (And yea, from what I read it is Caterina on the portrait, despite being the depiction of a myth and stuff)

They've done a pretty good job in V of adding hitherto unseen civs: Siam, Songhai, Denmark, Polynesia, Austria, Huns, Sweden, Assyria, Brazil, Poland, Morocco (presumably), and maybe a couple more to come. Of course, that's partly to be expected since they've never had this many civs. I hope they keep adding!

Perhaps, even if this is the last of V, they will start VI with more civs than usual which would accelerate the process of getting us to the point of campaigning for our pet favorites... Argentina..... Minoa.........

Out of the civs listed, Songhai, Siam, Denmark, Austria, and Assyria are all similar enough to previously included civs to count as really being new. (Songhai is like Mali, Denmark is the Vikings, Austria the HRE, Assyria is Sumer, and Siam the Khmer.) While they aren't all as closely similar to each other as some, it's enough so that if one gets in it counts as the other. So to me, we only have 6 new civs, which I am grateful for.

Yeah, personally I prefer Garibaldi or Medici.

But Matilda of Tuscany wouldn't be bad. But that's just me as a CKII fan speaking.

If Morocco is confirmed, then we'd have one more civ from B-P. It could most likely be Italy, Hungary, or Indonesia.

I believe it's obvious who I prefer!

Enrico?

I want Garibaldi.

Garibaldi was was an extraordinary General, but like Hannibal, was never a decisive national leader and shouldn't lead an Italian Civilization.

I'm in the same boat. I want the Sioux more than any but I really want a Western or Plains tribe; particularly the horse based tribes.

Although a peaceful, spiritual tribe would work fine as well.

Looks like they learned their lesson from yesterday's picture. I can't get much by fiddling with the brightness and contrast.

Opinions are trending towards Indonesia/Majapahit at the moment. This could be the kiss of death for Italy.

Fair enough. And I'm guessing Brazil & Incas don't count for Argentina? :(

I'm not being cheeky. You make a fair point. The only answer is more civs. Probably not likely, but I for one would be ecstatic.

I could see an ancient/medieval Vietnamese leaader with that kind of look (the Vietnmese still kept SE Asian styles up until the early modern era); Khmer or Burma are also possible.

If we were to only include undisputed Heads of State then we would need to throw out Bismarck, Gandhi, and Oda Nobunaga too. It would also make Isabella and Theodora look like curious choices given that they were both outlived by their husbands.

Looks like an elf until revealed I am going to call him elfy
