Reports are coming in from the former People’s Republic of Siberia that its government has collapsed. The country is now ablaze in the fires of a civil war, with the borders becoming a mess as civilians pour out while foreign fighters pour in. What side will emerge triumphant? There’s opportunity for any foreign power to profit from this conflict, particularly in securing whatever’s left of Siberia at the end of the war for itself.

Siberia is now a minor power. However, it is in a civil war. When in civil war, a country does not break into rebel factions as is usual, but influence and espionage begin to represent the effective good fortune of every faction. Every country begins with 100 Influence in Siberia, and as turns go on this will decrease as damage is done to factions loyal to those countries. By investing more into the country, however, you increase the chance that the winner is loyal to you and thus your client / ally.

Even if you don’t win, you will receive client income in the meantime, while also receiving a bonus once the conflict ends for your participation.

The Fate of Mongolia

As with Siberia, it appears Mongolia has collapsed into a civil war, with Ganzorig’s regime not as supported as was originally thought. Ganzorig has aligned himself with the Sino-Japanese forces, but large numbers of people have also declared their preference to be the Golden Horde or 501st Legion. The country could go either way at this point, either remaining neutral as a friend of China-Japan, or being a huge boon to the Horde and 501st’s war with eachother.

Mongolia has the same rules as the Siberian conflict, but with the playing field starting divided between the East Asian powers rather than being a free for all.

Yes.

There any way I can get an ally to increase my influence by stationing troops and perhaps economic investment?

Theoretically yes. They’d keep their commitment minimal in all likelihood unless paid.

There any way I can disrupt the influences of other countries?

Every turn several nations will lose influence at random to represent decisive victories by one faction or another. However, you can make use of espionage in the country to sabotage enemy positions.

A Civil War requires both overt (money, troops) and covert (spies) actions to come out on top. If you invest 1000 into your side's army, and 0 into your espionage, what shall keep another country's spies from sabotaging all of your side's shiny new tanks?
 
==West African War==

Cape Verde Forces: 110,260 soldiers; 110,000 sailors
Tayloristan: 459,456 soldiers; 114,864 sailors
Congo: 262,599 soldiers

Prior to the battles, the Verdeans suffer some sabotage to their radar, albeit minor.

85,864 Taylor sailors confront the Verdean fleet; 29,000 are transporting 290,000 soldiers. The plans are dealt a blow when 10,000 Crimson Court sailors do not show up (the deal having been in exchange for an embargo of the now-defunct Mongolian), but the Ashanti field 54,466 sailors and Kenya fields 106,400.

246,730 versus 110,000

In a series of thirteen battles, nine are won by the coalition forces. 60,000 Verdeans die and 40,000 are captured. 4,000 Taylor soldiers are lost, as well as 4,000 Kenyan and 4,000 Ashanti. However, the Verdeans lose all ports to blockade except their capital’s.

140,000 Taylor soldiers launch an operation to reclaim Ashanti. 100,000 Congolese soldiers aid in this offensive. 70,000 Cape Verde troops stand in opposition.

Out of fourteen battles, the Allied forces emerge victorious in nine of them, routing the Verdeans from Ashanti. The Verdeans ruthlessly scorch the Earth as they retreat, and no less than 120,000 Ashanti perish between this and the intense fighting between the extremely-advanced Verdean military and the more numerous Allied forces.

The Verdeans kill 5,000 Taylor forces and 4,000 Congolese, while the Allied forces kill 50,000 Verdeans and capture 15,000. Only a handful of Verdean forces make it back to the homeland to tell the tale of the horrific defeat they suffered.

100,000 Congolese soldiers attempt to encircle the Verdean forces by invading Cape Verde’s territory via Benin and Cameroon. Only 40,000 Verdean armies remain in the area. They are however, backed up by a timid band of 140,000 conscripts at training centers throughout the countryside.

The Congolese kill 25,000 Verdeans and capture 10,000. The Verdeans slay 29,000 Congolese troops, making up for their lack of training with their sheer numbers.

The Congolese occupy 8 provinces. 1.04 million people perish or are displaced, many suspect by the government of Nero himself to avoid their falling into enemy hands. In a matter of weeks West Africa has become a hellhole, torn between two clashing armies and the chaos of war.

Regardless, Cape Verde is crushed. Its ports blockaded and much of its homeland under occupation, there are ramblings of surrender and even coups within the government. But the Allies have one last masterful stroke…

20,000 Taylor soldiers participate in Operation: Guillotine, in an attempt to storm Cape Verde itself. A hastily assembled militia of 36,000 troops awaits them, but not being regulars, they are less intimidating then the rank and file. These “Praetorians” are told to die for their Emperor, and they do their best… which isn’t saying much. With some fire support from the navy, the Islands of Cape Verde come under siege…

In a bloody battle, Taylor forces emerge victorious by a narrow margin. They kill 6,000 Verdean troops and capture 2,000 others. The Verdeans slay 5,000 Taylor forces. Despite the Praetorians’ efforts, the capital falls, and the government is decapitated as the operation intended; the Emperor is nowhere to be found. As a result of the heavy fighting, 21,000 civilians die. Fortunately the number is still nonetheless minimal thanks to the Tayloristani troops’ discipline.

Iceland-Norway is announcing the Bahamas Survival Games!


The Survival Games are an upcoming series of events where Icelandic slaves, who want to earn their freedom, will be airdropped into the middle of an island in the Bahamas, and their mission is to make it to a neighboring island alive!

-For volunteering in the Survival Games, a slave's entire family and one person of their choosing will go free and receive a living wage from the Icelandic government, along with a public works job and free housing in Reykjavik or some other part of the Kingdom

-If they survive, they will also go free with the same benefits as above.

-They must make their own boats, or swim.

-They will be airdropped in the center of the island with 9 other participants. They must work together to survive.

-Any Icelandic citizen, or foreigner, who wishes to participate will receive 2,000,000 Icelandic Krone if they survive!

-Battleships are patrolling just out of sight of the island to keep megaspiders from building rafts and escaping!

-There will be cameras positions in hidden areas to allow every moment of the action to be video taped!

Arstotzka announces the Megaspider Diplomacy Program

Since Talyoristan so generously gave us a Megaspider we will conduct some research.

Begining this month Arstotzkan Scientists will attempt to communicate with the sentient A. Titanis, the scientists will attempt to befriend the spider by offering the one male that Talyoristan so generously gave us.

In the event that no communication is possible the Arstotzkan Military will attempt to elimitate the Megaspider, with extreme prejudice.
 
Mainland China-Japan is pleased to announce the creation of the Mega-Arachnid Research and Intelligence Association. This organization, aimed at understanding the biology of the megaspiders, will use the specimen obtained from Tayloristan to understand the natural limits of the species and use the information gathered to benefit China-Japan as a whole. Do note that the arachnid itself will not be used to benefit the countries, rather, the information gathered from it. We thank Tayloristan for letting us have this opportunity.

It's basically a straight-winged RL Harrier - down to the VTOL capability. It's not so common anymore, being almost forty years old, but it sees some favor with interceptor wings and certain pilots due to its unmatched vertical climb.

S-37-E Raider:
Dimensions: 22.54 meters by 18.00 meters
Powerplant: 3xturbojet (One fuselage inset, two underwing)
Armament: Dual nose-inset 23mm miniguns, seven omni-hardpoints (six under wings, one under fuselage), computer-controlled 23mm point defense (rear facing)

The Si-37-E was the first conscious choice to try and combine the roles of zeppelin-killing helicopter and VTOL interceptor. In the modern day, it has received megaspider webbing upgrades to its significant armor and is greatly favored by the army as a rapid-response gunship.

Armament: 3x15mm nose-inset minigun, three omni-hardpoints (Two under wings, one under fuselage

The Si-47 Leopard is a new fighter, largely intended to replace all existing Tayloristani VTOL craft. So far, that hasn't happened.

G-2 Shooting Star

Armament: dual 15mm nose-inset miniguns, four omni-hardpoints (under wings), two wingtip missile racks

The G-2 Shooting Star(Think F-18 hornet) is an older craft, but it perfectly expresses the superiority of non-VTOL airplanes. The aircraft is in heavy service as an air superiority fighter, although it cannot be launched from zeppelins.

A medium-sized light helicopter used mostly for troop deployment, but possessing two omni-hardpoints. Used by every branch of the Tayloristani military.

AH-33 Topachula

A medium sized heavy gunship possessing four omni-hardpoints and incredible damage resistance. Primarily used by city militias - not favored by the naval or zeppelin corps due to its minimal maneuverability.

H-62 Quapaw

A large, heavy lift helicopter used on more or less every modern zeppelin ever. Capable of being retrofitted with weapons, but more often used to drop troops.

The "Knacker" is Tayloristan's equivalent to a tank. It's not well respected in the military except by the army, who love its combat versatility. Recent models have megaspider webbing reinforced armor.

A standard issue 10-round sidearm produced to such excessive quantities regulation is impossible.

Tayloristan's gunsmiths, when noting the need for a troop-carried automatic weapon, chose to stick with existing calibers of rounds in order to thin the ammunition types which needed to be manufactured.

8.11x47mm Sniper Rifle

A larger, higher-velocity bullet was needed for a sniper rifle, so the exception was granted.

15mm Heavy Sniper Rifle

Possibly the smallest (and fastest) helicopter in the world. Always painted black.

57mm Grenade Launcher

A five-shot rapid fire grenade launcher. Primarily used in Megaspider containment, also issued to army troops on special missions.

11.47mm Revolver

A five-shot high power, high velocity handgun. Issued to high-ranking members of the government as self-defense weapons. Typically then ornamented by their owners. Not used by regular forces.

5x16mm Submachinegun

Small, light, and capable of expelling 46 bullets per second. Extremely inaccurate at anything except point blank range. Tayloristan does not bother manufacturing anything but armor piercing rounds for this gun. Due to difficulty of use, not often issued to regular troops.

Spritzer can

A small spray bottle full of Anthrax Epsilon. Spray on a Megaspider, watch it die over the span of fifteen seconds. Low effective range and the secret nature of Anthrax Epsilon discourage large-scale deployment.

While the Revolution primarily uses G-2 Shooting Stars and Si-37-E Raiders as its aircraft, Formidda and its allies are nothing if not resourceful. The Viking is a Raider heavily modified for mass production and increased maneuverability. An unpopular choice was to replace the traditional aircraft cannons with a 76mm anti-tank gun due to the weapon's availability. The Si-41-A carries the unusual distinction of being the only Tayloristani-designed STOL aircraft - being incapable of thrust vectoring as the Raider is, the Viking is instead a short takeoff craft requiring only a hundred meters of runway to pick up enough speed to leap into the sky.

The Seaborne Carrier is the successor to Formidda's first Revolution. The original carrier less than a fourth of the second Carrier's tonnage - this is due to Formidda's psychosis: the original carrier was a tool of war, designed to allow fighting inland cities with their own interceptor wings such as Apocalypta on equal terms. This second carrier is a different design philosophy - unstoppable floating fortress instead of surgical scalpel.
 
==Scandinavian War==

75,000 forces from the Combined Syndicates deploy in Finland and march westward, having reached the area through neutral airspaces throughout Europe to bypass Iceland’s blockade. 111,344 Icelandic troops set up defenses from north to south rather than pressing an offensive. Finland deploys 10,000 soldiers and 10,000 sailors, while Kirov deploys 25,000 soldiers.

While Norway keeps half its fleet on the defensive, sending 111,344 against the Swedish fleet of 281,633 and Finnish fleet of 10,000.

26,000 Swedes and 1,000 Finns perish on the seas in the Swedish victory. 69,000 Norwegians die in the process, however. The Swedes manage to emerge victorious but suffer so many vicious losses their blockade on Sweden is broken as they hastily have to retreat.

With the demise of the blockade, the Syndicalists have entered Sweden and are prepared to use the full might of their 75,000 soldiers with the help of Sweden’s 281,633, Kirov’s 25,000, and Finland’s 10,000 against Iceland’s 111,344 soldiers. The Combined Syndicates have assumed command of this massive horde of soldiers, devising war plans with the intent to evict the Icelandic forces from Sweden and take Norway itself.

==Battle of the North==

In the north, 75,000 Syndicalist forces, 10,000 Finns and 15,000 Swedes attack Norway’s northern extremities. 25,100 Icelandic troops, backed by 50,000 conscripts, oppose them.

While the Coalition fail to take over northern Norway, they do inflict 23,000 deaths upon the Norwegian ranks. Norway scores 1,000 Finns, 1,000 Swedes, and kills 4,000 Syndicalists, while also capturing 2,000 Syndicalists. 5,000 Norwegian civilians perish in the crossfire.

==Battle of the South==

In the south, 266,633 Swedes and 25,000 Kirovites press an assault to claim back occupied Sweden and all of Norway. 71,244 Icelandic troops and 100,000 conscripts stand in opposition.

The Swedish forces hit Norway hard in the heart, killing 100,000 Icelandic soldiers and capturing 10,000. 22,000 Swedes and 2,000 Kirovites perish. 25,000 Swedish civilians and 55,000 Icelandic citizens are killed in the crossfire, minimal casualties due to great humanitarian discipline by both fighting factions. 2.2 million Norwegian citizens are placed under Swedish occupation, many of them from the fallen city of Oslo.

Iceland-Norway has foiled an invasion in one part of its territory but suffered a massive reversal in another. Will Reykjavik yield to the Syndicate forces, or will it call upon its American allies to even the odds, plunging the entire Atlantic into open war? Only time will tell.

==African War==

Minor continuation since I forgot something. Some of Tayloristan’s troops assault Cape Verde’s coastline.

270,000 Taylor forces invade 6 Cape Verde coastal provinces. 135,000 conscripts stand ready to fight them, the main army too disorganized to do much.


Tayloristan kills 80,000 Cape Verde soldiers and seizes 10,000 as prisoners of war. Cape Verde kills 22,000 soldiers.

50,000 Cape Verde civilians are lost of 2.3 million, a very small number compared to most conflicts.
