SKNES II: The Bonaparte Legacy

OOC: By the way, is R.B. Bennett supposed to be in power? In OTL, it was Mackenzie King's Liberals at this time, or is it one of the changes in the timeline?

Yeah guys responding ICly to my Deloncle rant is kind of silly. Its meant to be a private speech for the sake of background fluff, its not exactly foreign policy.

The whole point is that the ideology is based on whatever Deloncle says is a real person and that changes depending on the geopolitical situation.

I'm going to treat everybody's response to it as pseudo-OOC anyway.

I'm going to take you up on that offer about an extension of orders if thats alright SK? I'll try to get them in within 24 hours of the end of the orders period. Cheers :)

The Republic of Hungary declares war on the Ottoman Empire. The Balkans belongs to its people, not to foreigners.

The Sublime Porte appeals to Serbia, Romania and Croatia to close their borders and airspace to Hungary.

We have no quarrel with Hungary, and no desire to kill Hungarians. Please, save their citizens from their government.

Please restrain your client.

The Kingdom of Serbia is pleased with the successful negotiations between the Kingdom of Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire, and would like to present the Treaty of Plovdiv for signing by both sides.

Treaty of Plovdiv

1. The Kingdom of Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire will agree to a twelve-month cease-fire, which, upon the end of this time period, can be renegotiated if necessary.

2. Upon the conclusion of hostilities between the Kingdom of Greece and the Ottoman Empire, the Ottoman Empire will agree to hold referenda in Bulgarian-majority areas under its domain on whether those areas wish to cede themselves to the Kingdom of Bulgaria.

3. The rights of ethnic and national minorities in the affected areas shall not be abridged.

The Ottomans promise peace to the Balkans. Perhaps that is true for now. But ambitious leaders can come and go, and if imperialism is not completely brought down, it shall return again. Do not believe their lies.

OOC: I have a really bad fever, and my brain is still undecided if its doing this out of stupidity, or mock-stupidity, or if there's even a difference between the two.

For the duration of the current crisis with Greece, the Ottoman Empire regretfully informs that the Bosporus and Dardanelles will be closed to military traffic.

Civilian ships wishing to transit the straits will be inspected for contraband. Nations wishing to expedite the inspection process should duly instruct their ambassador in Istanbul.

Treaty of Plovdiv:
Signed, King Boris III of Bulgaria
Signed, Konstantin Muraviev, Prime Minister of Bulgaria

To: Hungary

From: Croatia, Romania

While under normal circumstances we would not take suggestions from the Ottoman Empire of all countries, these are not normal circumstances. While such policies may already be in place, we are reinforcing the point: no Communist scum shall cross our borders, whether they be on land, on sea, or in the air, whether they are Hungarian, Finnish, or Russian.

To: The Hungarian Dictatorship

You're not getting your troops through Serbia, ne, you are most certainly not. Nor are they getting through Romania or Croatia. Stop making fools out of yourselves. If you even make an attempt to put any Hungarian soldier on Serbian soil, or any Hungarian aircraft in Serbian airspace, it will be seen as an act of aggression against the Kingdom of Serbia, and we shall act accordingly. Stop pushing yourselves upon Balkan issues.

From: Professor Andrej Crnovic of the University of Sarajevo
To: Mr. Eugene Deloncle of the Front Nationale-Socialiste

While I do not particularly approve of your harsh words on Slavs, your recent speech has piqued my interest greatly. If I may ask, what are your views on the Turks, who also conquered "the Slavic neanderthals and mongoloids of the Balkans," just as your so-called 'Romance Austrians' did, but more successfully and much earlier? I would also like to ask of your opinion on the Arab peoples and Far-Easterners as well.

Sincerely,
Andrej Crnovic

Given Bohemia-Moravia's status as a member of the League of Democratic Nations, we recommend that you do not make threats towards them.

It was not a threat, but a suggestion. There are very large differences between the two. I myself would like to see war averted, though if the Sudeten Germans are not allowed to separate from Bohemia-Moravia with their lands, war might occur. Have a good day Chancellor.

Adolph then hung up the phone.
Heinrich, these democracies are led by warmongers. We may need to prepare should they attack us.

Consider this the 24 hour warning.

I'm sending reminders to those people who haven't sent orders or told me they're sending orders yet. Like I said in the OP, if you find this annoying just let me know.

From the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics

To the Turkish Empire

The peoples of the Soviet Union offer mediation, and propose a referendum similar to that which the Turkish Empire has already agreed to hold in Rumelia, regarding the status of Greek-speaking European territories of the Turkish Empire. It's only fair.

To the Kingdoms of Romania, Croatia, Serbia

Your antagonism is disappointing.

To the People's Republic of Portugal

Believe in the me that believes in you, little bro.

EDIT:

To the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

We've heard unfortunate rumors that Britain intends to violate the popular sovereignty of the Portuguese people by sending troops. Recognize that doing so will do irreparable harm to Anglo-Soviet relations, which currently have no points of conflict.

We do not believe negotiation is possible with a government that does not fundamentally recognize the legitmacy of the Ottoman state. While Serbia and Bulgaria accept Turkey's right to exist, the Athens regime is intent on total annexation of our state, as they have repeatedly mentioned in numerous public communiques.

Any referenda we hold will not lead to a lasting peace; instead, the territories gained by Athens will simply be used as a stepping-stone for the next war.

As such, we must regretfully decline the Soviet offer of mediation, until such time as a new government takes power in Athens.

The Soviet Union notes with regret that the Turkish Empire has rejected a diplomatic solution. May Zombie Lenin have mercy on their souls.

Sorry, I've been away for a few days! One thing: Mexico has no research in the game info posts. I would appreciate that before sending in my orders for this turn; I will send those orders soon anyway to make the deadline, but SK if you can get back to me before the next update I would appreciate the chance to update those orders if I so desire.

Thanks!
