Chapter 17: Defensive Demands and Tech Trades

I'm back! I have a really bad really good habit of staying up until 1-3 AM playing Civ and then waking up between 10-12 AM, so that's why I'm updating so late every day. Anyway, time for another update!

Our pirate fleet sails into Turkish waters to attempt to screw them over. However, the Turks have a lot of frigates, so our pirates are forced to flee back west. Also note how everyone except for me has the plague.




At the same time, several people ask us for a Defensive Pact. The obvious answer is no, because we only will ever have ONE city.




Some people also ask us for tribute. We say no, for no particular reason.





We get a Great Engineer. We hold on to him for now.


We finish the Trading Company.


We do get a few tech trades done, keeping us in the race. I also haven't seen Ataturk as leader of Turkey before.





I like turtles, too.


A nice little text problem, just for entertainment.


We discover Nationalism, giving us another tech with which to trade as well as the opportunity to build an Olympic Park.

Chapter 18: WORLD WAR ?!!!!!!!!!!!

Update time!

It seems that a world war has started. I'm glad we didn't sign all of those Defensive Pacts...






We finish researching Radio. We also get to work on the United Nations.



We get a tech trade done with the Greeks.


We get a Great Merchant, Shah Jahan. He discovers several (but not all) secrets to Industrialization. However, while perfecting a Factory design, a smokestack fell on top of him and killed him. It doesn't take us too much time afterwards to get Industrialization.



Spain collapses under the pressure of the world war. Neutrality rocks, everyone!


I'll leave things off with a picture of our glorious neutral empire.

Chapter 19: Nations United

Hello! Starting Sunday night, I will be gone for 3 (possibly 4) weeks in a row without Internet with the exception of one or two Saturdays in between. As a result, I am going to try and cram the end of this story in now and get to the Babylon story and the sequel story after I get back. Time for an update!

Here is a view of our amazing empire while seeing that we are excluded from this congress. However, because of our work project, that won't last for too long...


Protestant Italy (I can't get over that Italy is Protestant, being a dual citizen of Italy myself) demands a tech from us. We say no, but we trade him a different tech. We also get some other tech trades done, namely with Lincoln of the CSA.





We encounter a little Python exception. I should probably put this in the bug reports sticky in the DoC sub-forum, but I'm feeling pretty lazy at the moment.


As usual, some meanie-poos still want us to fight their wars for them. We say NEVAAH!


Wrapping things up, our glorious capital city finishes building the United Nations, a tribute to all of the nations that are still beating the crap out of each other.

Chapter 20: Meanie-poos and Poopyheads

Hello! I'm back again!

There are a few riots around the Mughal city of Govapuri. Heh heh heh... Akbar already hates us enough, so why not? Also, Mexico has made peace with Mexico.



Stupid poopyheads still try to demand things from us. Python error screenshot as a bonus! I hope Leoreth is reading this right now.





We do get some trades (more than the one shown) to get more money and to butter up our potential voters.


We discover how to make Legos. YAAAY! Ah, childhood memories...


Vote for me, everyone!


We get beaten to the Internet, a VERY important project, by the Mughals. This cripples our chances of winning space race victory.


I'll leave things off here. As the end of the game gets near, many questions are raised. Will we win the UN vote and subsequently win a diplomatic victory vote? Will I lose and die a horrible death? Chapter 21: Nukes???????

Hello! Sorry I updated so late today, I woke up late and was playing Magic the Gathering until now, and in a bit, I am going to eat dinner and go to Friday Night Magic, so this one might be a bit short. Here we go!

Some poopyheads keep trying to demand things from me. I say no, as usual.



We accomplish some tech trades that keep us going.



Our citizens are scared by the jail. They shouldn't be, except for the massive clown face on the outside. I'm not scared of clowns, btw.


We get a Great Merchant, Jamshetji Tata. He settles down and builds a multimillonare real estate industry, buying nearly all of Sri Lanka with just a few clever investments.


We get Rocketry. Combined with Fission, this lets us build nukes as well as the Apollo Program. Can we? Will we? Until next time, may you not put clown faces on jails.

Please finish this before I have to go to Pennsylvania on Wednesday. Please?

I have to leave for camps Sunday night for 3 weeks (possibly 4) without Internet with barely any break in between, so I'll finish it by Sunday.

Chapter 22: Why isn't 22 a Round Number?

This is it! The final gameplay update!

Meiji asks us for a Defensive Pact. With nukes flying everywhere, I don't like this idea.


People STILL want things from us. We say no.




Oh, if only, if only.


We dicover some new techs.




We obviously don't get voted in, as we are defying a resolution.


Since we can't get Uranium, Roosevelt beats us to launching the first nuke.


And guess who wins?

So we don't win. At the same time, Rajendra finds out that he is dying. When he asks people to vote on his rating as a leader, he gets..........................................


Upon finding that out that rating, the following response was reported from Rajendra.
"WHAT?????? DAN QUAYLE????? I made the most glorious city ever known to mankind, and I get this? I SWEAR VENGEANCE ON ALL WHO WEAKENED ME! IF I WERE TO BE REINCARNATED, I WOULD MAKE A GLORIOUS EMPIRE! I WOULD"- and just like that, a bolt of divine lightning crashed through the ceiling and killed Rajendra. However, his body completely vanished without a trace. Historians still do not know how he died and what caused his death. If only they knew what really happened...

I'm kind of necro-ing my own thread here, but I can't believe that it's been (two days over) a year since I finished my first story. Wow.
