Part #5 - Rampage in India

Enkidu repution for his iron fist negociations was spreading like wildfire in the European continent. Enkidu stumbled in Iberia and the Iberic People was struck in fear to anger such non human beast. They complied in giving their dearest secrets on Mathematics.
They also said there was another tribe living in the North-East region. Enkidu rushed for that area, encountering in the passage some Phalanx. He realized at the sight of a burning village the Phalanxes arrived before him. He shouted a feral cry and pushed more into the wild.

Meanwhile, deep into Africa, a squad of warriors was exchanging with tribe men. After months of contact, they realized nothing could be learnt from such primitive tribe and decided to loot the village to gain something out of it. Sadly, they then got caught by hungry panthers and only a few survived to give to the Pharaoh what they got from the reckoning.

India is interestingly advanced, but unwilling to share most of their secrets. The mercenaries then launched their furor upon the city-states.

Babilû people were definitely knowledgeable ones, possessing techiques no other nations would know. The Pharaoh agreed that city will become a center of science and marvels. He ordered a library and the immense monument in his honor, a great Pyramid, to be build there.

Still, not every Sumerian agreed on the Egyptian domination. Several factions outside the borders of the core of the Fertile Crescent were constantly about to invade. And at the news of the immense riches and projects in Babilû, they encroached and attempted to loot. A bunch of farmers near Shushan were attacked and looted, but Shushan people retaliated in time with their siege army. This allowed the soldiers with inferior weapons to bash those barbarians with relative easiness. It was certainly a close one.

Nevertheless, the Elamites were also a potential danger.
Spoiler :

The thraldom of Sumeria was quite pious and this was a common feeling with the Egyptian people. Class of priests was thus created for the benefit of the venerations of Gods. This also led to unexpected sects, one of them being the ZoroAster's group growing in control over the Egyptian empire.

Pheonicia was unwilling to bend to the Pharaoh's demands, but he couldn't help to agree he needed to get his hands of the refined knowledge of theirs about ship construction. Pheonicia was reknowned traders and sailers. A trade was ensued, but the Pharaoh's dark intentions were still well alive. But to dilute the suspicions, he finally agreed on opening Borders.

Here a small window of the improvements the workers had to build. Mainly cottages plus horses and elephants of Nubia. A road between Djanet and Yebu was unnecessary as local people prefered to use the Nile for transportation of goods.

Here's a view of random city screens at random moments.
Spoiler :

Finally, Yerushalayim will have its granary. Poor city, with such poor sources of food.

The Elamites threatening the region of Shushan triggered a keen interest in siege weaponry. It was produced en masse.
And it was important to mention a growing power, the Medes, were roaming around. No surprises they may rise as a contender in the future. Better safe than sorry.

Spoiler :
STRATEGIC THOUGHT
Given I know that Persia rises on turn 84 and demands Shushan flip by T85-86, then I shall whip that city down to the lowest pop and give it to Persia for free in the diplo table to makehim PLEASED. I checked in the XML files and Cyrus doesn't plot on PLEASED and that's good. Another interesting point is the fact they don't receive free culture through gifting, thus I can crush that city culturally. One stone two birds.

At some point, once Sailing was gotten out of the Phoenicians, a galley was in the bucket list. Because of the long trek through Anatolia and the dangers because of Hittite Hulugannis, it was safer and zipping to attack Athens from sea. Also, Djanet hired scientists, but it was important to avoid spawning the GScientist. The GEngineer was more important first. Occasionally, the Great Sphinx project was started and stopped to get future good fail gold when selling the parts of the unfinished wonder.

The rapacious Pheonicians stole the sole wheat source from Babilû.

Zoroaster's influence grew and that concerned the Pharaoh. The Pantheon of Egyptian Gods was supreme and no heresy shall claim superior to them.

An event was triggered; Horse Whispering. The interest plummeted at the sight of investing in lots of stables. Egypt wasn't in need for strong military right now and was needing every penny into science. The Prophet said so. And it shall be followed minutely.
Spoiler :

be careful when you build all those stables, for example: if you put pastel colored equines in them, you'll attract the rare and elusive brony :D

Great Story Tachy!
I thought you were dead!

In fact, I'm pretty dead to the eyes of many tale readers. It's so obvious my eyes burn. No matter how hard I work, this is ever gonna work for me. :D

Anyways, despite this, update on the way. The epic part is starting now.

if it helps, i think you're great at this

Moai, I don't reprove anything from ya. You support me really well. As much as others. You're balanced in supporting everyone. It's just so hard to hook up new readers. For some, it seems so easy. There are regular readers here that never ever commented any of my stories and I'm asking myself, what am I doing wrong in my stories. Three ones with more or less different approaches. Man dawgs, what's the problem. It would help if I wasn't a subjected to leprosy in RL. :p

But I have Oceletto. I'm glad to see a new reader.

Part #6 - Rise of Persia and Revenge on Canaanites

Spoiler :
It doesn't look like it, but because of GIF images, I can compress over 100 images into a post. Nice, isn't it!?

==========================================================

The War Chariots (let's say that unit represents many of them) were rampaging hard in the Indian lands. The Hinduism center was captured and handed over to Indo-Aryan people to the ire of Asoka. His rage was such he refused right away to give in our demand, but once he saw the city handed over, he knew that no hope was awaiting him. He relinquished his precious knowledges of Iron Working and vehemently dismissed the Egyptian diplomate.

Upon hearing the blight of India, the strongest nation in the region, the villagers knew confronting the Egyptians with self-reliance would definitely lead to their own destruction. They also agreed to teach them their currency systems.

Enkidu proceeded in his grand voyage towards frozen lands. He met several bears but his extreme velocity helped him to dodge them. Luckily, he stumbled upon native norse people who valued strength over anything. Enkidu demonstrated a feat of brute force and the natives were drastically impressed. The chieftain tapped his shoulder and nodded in approbation. He led the half-god into his hut and taught him the deepest secrets of Metal Casting. He said in the future, the people in the wake of his people will have the greatest navy and pillage the whole world. Enkidu was perplexed by these mysterious words.

Shushan became a center of military and all top-notched military units came from that city for now. Nevertheless, a new civilization rose and threatened the peaceful Shushan. The Pharaoh looked positively their arrival as they have knowledge Egypt didn't have. In a great effort to harbor good relationships, he decided to give up Shushan to please the persian satrap. He then taught Egypt the secrets of a stable monarchy, reinforcing the dynastic succession. And a succession of peace treaties were signed to ensure peace between the two great civilizations. It is notable to say the prominence of Zoroastrianism in the empire pleased Cyrus.
Spoiler :

Of course, the Pharaoh had dark intents as usual. He knew Shushan will suffer from cultural pressure.

Finally, thanks to Shushan contribution, the Pharaoh had enough of Pheonicia being in vicinity and could proceed to their annihilation. He razed the city of Sur to teach them to never encroach Egypt anymore.

Africa was both arid and humid as hell. Few soldiers with heavy armors were able to tolerate such climate and often fell. A War Chariot took workers as appendage and went into exploration. He heard of the last failure deep down in Africa and prepared to the worst for this time.

Nubia was the southern part of Egypt. Called Nubia because of the high density of gold lodes, people living there were more black than the typical Egyptian. Nubians had their pride into Archery; they had the best bowmen of all the ancient times, but such strength wasn't always used for the good of the empire. Several abused of the extended training to revolt and pillage the countrysides. Those people are the Medjays.
Spoiler :

And this is the squad that takes care of rogue Medjays.

Greece destruction was also in the evil agenda of the Pharaoh. Thanks to the refined secrets of Phoenia navy construction, it was commaded the invasion would start with Athens though the sea.

While the campaigns in Greece, several soldiers met the Romans. A diplomate started trading with their leader, and then give them a tribute. The emperor was extremely pleased in such respect and allowed trading (Open Borders).

Now random images just to envision the empire growth.

Yebu was chosen as the center of ancient games for greatest athletes of the known world. The contribution of the Pharaoh in constructing a place where that event will stand was deeply appreciated by civilizations contending.
Spoiler :

The Oracle was started in Babilû. The prophet said it was the time to start it or the great fate of Egypt will fail.
Spoiler :

Babilû was about to generate a GEngineer! What do you think would be his use? Take your guess and write it down in replies.

Spoiler :

BTW, I forgot to mention this, but do people know that by T75, all my techs inflate in cost? The first time I didn't realize that, but I see this as a constant. What's up with that. It's one of the factor that impede my goal for the story that forced me to get techs from huts. I mean what's the deal with such annoying feature?

@strijder20 only / Take your guesses others.

Spoiler :
Close, but no. Answer in next update.

are you going to use him to rush the great wall?

Will you save him for future use?

will you use him to rush me to make an update for my byzantine story? because like the internet in civ 4, great engineers can't rush me :p

It's a pain. I think tech costs scale with era. I had to watch out for that in my Babylon OCC.

But I didn't get any goody huts.

BTW, people, are you interested in more strategic thoughts? I think I forgot to input these (also lazy a little). If you are interested, I'll explain my choices...my every little choice.

Anyways, the update will arrive today at some point.
The real crazy stuff will increasingly show. That's the point of this tale. Something out of the ordinary. Also will release some saves for people to see today! But you need the last SVN because it's with Lock Modified Assets, which means the existence of the new SVN will say to you: you changed you assets, din't ya?

Stay tuned because at some point I'll need 15 people to vote. Yes, people, this game is particular because you have the fate of Egypt in your hands!
