City State Diplomacy Mod (Updated)

It should - we've always tried to fix any incompatibilities. You may need to clear out your civ5 cache - sometimes the mod will not load into the database correctly. Delete all the files in your documents/civ 5/cache folder, then launch the game, enable your mods and report back.

From my recent experience, and according to the folks working the Communitas mods, CSD no longer works with the Communitas mods. :cry:

Odd. I can't imagine why they would be incompatible. I'll get in touch with Thal and see why the mods aren't compatible anymore. Thanks for the heads-up.

Try replacing <References /> in the CSD modinfo file with the following:

I have an issue in my current game using this mod. I'm not sure if it is caused by the mod and I have not read every entry of this thread.

The issue is this:

My game crashes at the same point of a saved turn, which is the point at which an AI civ conquers one of my ally city-states. I've re-loaded the game several times...same result.

Any idea if this is a result of the mod? Thanks!


P.S.--I love this mod and wish it was part of the core game....

It is possible, though it would be tough to diagnose. You could try a slightly older autosave and see if the issue persists at the exact same moment.
 
tried CSD with new version of CEP today, here are my findings:

1) Activate CSD *after* CEP results in units not showing on tech tree
2) Activate CSD *before* CEP results in units on tech tree, but gold gifting is enabled and can't be turned off (even with CSD and CEP options.sql set to disable gold gifts).

Did you try deleting the cache files in the civ 5/cache folder?
 
Yes, before each attempt.

I'm not sure what the problem is. Did you try the non-DLL version of CSD? I haven't changed anything about CSD except for the DLL since BNW came out. If this is a compatibility issue, it is, unfortunately, a consequence of the changes being done to Thal's mod. Once that mod stabilizes development a bit, I'll work with him to see if we can't iron out the kinks.

Here in the downloads section. It is v8.

If you click on the download link on v4 on post 1 you're sent to the civfanatics page with a download of v9. Can't fint v8 (or v4) anywhere.

Rather like the changes in the dll but I'd like to try WHoward's dll mod and as you can't have two dlls activated...

So, I left a message (#1210) about my game breaking when an AI conquers one of my allied CS.

I've replayed that turn and the turns leading up to it several times. Same result every time. AI conquers allied CS, game crashes. It's really too bad because it's a fun game.

Would it be helpful if I posted the saved game? I'm running this mod with InfoAddict.
 
I hate asking questions like this because I get the feeling the answer is the bleeding obvious :blush:, but I've tried a few different things and I've still got the same query.

In short, Messenger unit isn't appearing as a buildable option (not in Tech tree either) once I discover writing which is what the OP indicates. All the other CSD units are there, just messenger. Has this been removed form the BNW v.9 version and I've simply missed it, or is this a bug at my end?

I'm using a few other mods, but none that touch or introduce units nor mess around with DLL. I've also started a game with no other mods, only CSD, same thing.
 
BNW CSD mod crashes always crashes my game.. I try to load the game by using the mod alone still not working. The game still crashes.. what would the problem might be? Do you think i should update the game?
