The TAC: The Authentic Colonization team presents:

May there always be enough water beneath your keel
Idea and realisation by MaCross

Welcome to our TAC Game of the Month November 2013!
This month, we travel to todays second smallest province of canada, Nova Scotia.

Your task: Launch a considerable fleet!

Spoiler :
In the early 17th century, Samuel de Champlain drove forward the colonization of the sparsely populated province, formerly known as Acadia, essentially consisting of a larger peninsula and the Cape-Breton Island.

In 1620, the English King Jacob I. summarily declared Acadia to belong to the territory of New England and shortly after that, the British began to increase their settling efforts. The most part of the immigrants came out of Scotland to Acadia, which climate and landscape was fairly similar to the Scottish. No wonder, the name ‚Nova Scotia‘ was more and more frequently used and finally became the new official name of the province.

Throughout the 17th century, it repeatedly came to conflicts between the English and French, who fought side by side with the indigenous people, the Micmac, until in the year 1713 the colony was officially put under British authority in the "Peace of Utrecht". Nonetheless there were still settlements on the Cape-Breton and Prince-Edward Islands that remained in French hand and so the conflict kept smouldering.

In the course of the King George's War in 1744, the French and British fought over Nova Scotia again, leading to the decision of the British to expedite immigration once more. Subsequently, todays capital Halifax was founded, once a small fishermen's village...

You have been appointed as governor of the newly founded city of Halifax, entrusted with the task to secure english supremacy in Nova Scotia. You plan to expand Halifax to a significant naval harbor and boost the production of warships. You are certain, that dominion over the province comes only through control over the seas. Get down to work!

Tasks:

  • Construct a shipyard in Halifax
  • Build, buy or capture at least 5 frigates and 2 ships of the line

Save your game at the end oft he round, in which you accomplish those goals. The one who needed the fewest turns, will be announced as winner of the month.

The game is played as usual with our German community modification TAC 2.03_final ("The Authentic Colonization").
This game of the month ends on November, 30th.
Before you get started, please inform yourself about our entry rules and code of conduct.

Good Luck, Mr Governor!

We are glad to report that the number of competitors has risen in November. But first we want to thank MaCross for this great scenario.

Who was the fastest shipbuilder? Does Will The Viking continue his triumphal march?
