Small Mafia Clue Game: Columbo [Concluded]

There's been a Delay, but I'll start ASAP (Probably tonight or early tomorrow.)
Day 1
Columbo arrived the Ambassador hotel, clearly on the case and prepared to take charge of the situation.
Yeah, right.
"Has anyone seen my wife? I seem to have lost her, as well as my pencil."
The policeman on the scene stared at him blankly, then said, "No, I haven't, but we have been waiting for you, sir. It seems there's been a killing."
"Oh, ok. I'll call my watch commander and..."
The policeman's shoes were strangely familiar. "Columbo, didn't we have an agreement about this? You are to convince these people who are the assassins with the obvious clues and have them lynch them. So go ahead."
The policeman, now revealed to be the evil man stood at the door, which happened to be the only way out of the hotel.
Columbo approached the body, which was apparently a body of a prominent citizen. He looked like a mayor...
"Justice!" screamed one of the crowd stuck in hotel, "Justice for the Mayor!"
"Mayor who?"
"Mayor Meuilleur, of course! What's wrong with you?"

"Any clues, Columbo?"
"Not yet, let's just give me a minute and..."
But it was too late. The crowd was fed up, and was going to have justice for Meuilleur!
It is now Day 1.
