[TSL] Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack

I have also had the city state spawn problem! Even when setting the city state check to Don't check, and the number of city states to map maximum, some of the city states just won't appear leaving an empty gap even in places where they should have lots of space around.

Yes, it is really the problem. How many CSs are spawning in each game? Here, I have almost always 9 out of 20 on Earth Huge map with 37 Civs. In my case, I even tried to exclude from TSL xml all the CSs which could collide and to add plot location for new ones (and place only CSs with TSL, then), but not even this makes it works.

Gedemon when will you release the update fixing YnAEMP for the fall patch so that all 43 civilizations work through trade, espionage, etc.? There is that .dll someone posted earlier, and that works, though there are some minor bugs (diplomacy menu ends up showing every single civilization, including ones that have been killed). Plus, I think a lot of people (especially through the Steam Workshop) are waiting for the update to the mod itself, instead of fixing it manually (so lazy, I know).
no ETA, still working on the MP.

I use the new Complete full pack among with Ynaemp v.22, Ynaemp Dll 43 Civs v. 1, Ynaemp Dll fix for GK v.1 and BNW v. 2, Ynaemp City States for BNW v. 1. I use Earth Huge Map, Only TSL placemente with minimun or not checked distance.

I have tested it a lot and also prepared a list with non-colliding Civs and CSs, but it varies from 8 to 10 when the distance is not checked and it can place like 3 or 4 when minimun distance is active.

That information is incorrect. Actually, gold and silver are very rare in the map, I never exlored it nor commercialized it and had never found it before; but a deep look into the map did show me that there are some of them around the desert of Africa and in north, central and south of America.

Well, I am uploading a save game and three .log files: database, lua and xml.

Also, I am sending a .xml in which I placed few more CSs in Earth Huge Map and you can copy to your file if you want.

Thank you in advance!

Seems that there are not enough plots left to place gold (around 10 placed, should be around 20) once the other resources are placed, no problem with silver (there were more than 20 in my test, corresponding to what the game engine try to place on a map this size)

the game pick 20 CS randomly from the DB, from your log it was still picking CS that didn't have TSL, try to edit "YnAEMP only Europe CS for BNW" for an example onhow to leave only 20 spaced CS in it.

edit: forget that, IIRC the game will crash if there are not enough CS left in the DB. Try to keep 41, all with TSL, and as spaced as possible.

and thanks for the file.

I am locating the least 7 of the 41 CSs needed right now and will be able to send you more TSLs for Huge Earth Map; unfortunatelly, some of those 41 are close to each other or coincident, but they are best than the rest.

Just let me understand something: editing the sql is pretty much the same of editing the xml?

I only need to insert TSL for 41 CSs of my choice inside xml and then delete all the rest via sql?

I have just got 14 CSs!

I localized 41 CSs (some coincident between them) in the xml and removed all the undesirable CSs (all coincident with Civs) by the sql.

I reduced 37 Civs to 34 and changed the dll to Ynaemp Dll 34 Civs, what allowed me to choose 29 CSs (Only TSL, don't check).

I replaced some Civs for equivalents CSs (Portugal for Lisbon, Poland for Warsaw and Celts for Edinburgh).

I am uploading the xml and the sql as I am using (it is wise not to choose Portugal, Poland, Celts, Venice, America, Brazil, Netherlands, Austria and Babylon or Assyria because the CSs were selected with such a premise).

I also added some new TSL to the Earth Huge Map (that could be added to the pack).

I've downloaded the modded DLL source from GitHub, found the changes (2 files) and reapplied them against the latest BNW (only) source code and recompiled the DLL (with max civs set to 43 not 34).

Isn't there a similar solution for YnAEMP DLL 34 civs (v 3)?

I can't stablish neither trade routes nor espionage missions!

If you, at least, know how to deal with this problem, please, give a help!

Would you consider sexing up the area where Sydney is currently located? I've added TSL support to my Australia mod, but I can't help and notice that my starting location is less than admirable.

I've attached to this post the actual Australia on the Giant Earth, any suggestion on how to improve it ?

less desert along the coast ?

more rivers ? (drawing them on the picture would help)

34, 28 and 43 civs DLL updated on CFC Database but not tested, can anyone confirm that it fixes the trade screen bug ?

I've compiled a 60 civs DLL, if there are 17 custom civs (preferably spaced) available with TSL, it may be fun to test :D

Thank you very much, Gedemon!

Unfortunatelly, my computer stopped yesterday and I will have to wait until the next week to have it again.

Then, I am surely testing it, as I have a game paused in the beginning of Renaissance.

Testing the mod now, will let you know.

As for the 60-civilization DLL:

:O

That is AMAZING. Any good/legitimate civilization mods you'd recommend to use in conjunction alongside the game's 43?

O.K., just tested it. Works fine! Still has that bug from the other .dll fix from earlier in the threat that I'd mentioned - every civilization appears in the diplomacy dialogue menus (under where you might ask another civilization to "declare war on" or "make peace with" other civilizations).

Aside from that only one other thing I noticed, though it may be caused randomly or by the fact that I started off in the renaissance era. Image is attached showing the situation (Venice and nearby CS settler).

I have all my trade routes and spies back for my new 43 civs game! Will test the artifact digging soon!

Looking forward to the 60 civs mod!

Merci Gedemon!

hey just several suggestions:
1) Hong Kong should be placed to the east of the river mouth instead of west (Macau that is)
2) Shouldn't be that many long rivers in Aussie. Some rivers are ok though. May be a big lake near Perth?
3) Is that possible to make capital of the Turkish called Ankara? I know the capital of Ottoman is Istanbul but the current location in the mod is Ankara (as it is occupied by Constantinople)
4) As for the 60 civ map. Is that possible to add a civ of Manchu people? They actually conquered most of the East Asia and thus made the powerful Qing dynasty. They originates from lands to the north of Korea - Manchuria, which is now shared by the Chinese and the Russian.
5) the Central Asia land is more like Steppe (semi-arid land) in stead of dessert, may be they can be represented by some "plains" in the map editor?
6) Is that Possible to add one civ to Central Asia? Many ancient civilizations existed in that area and they survived on trading (Silk Road) and took up different religions like Islamic, Buddism, Hindi and also ancient religion from Persia. The trait of this civ should be the merge of Venice/ Arabic and Contanstinople (more trade routes and more benefits from believes of religion)

Mainland Australia for the most part is really nicely done. Here would be my optimum start for where Sydney is. I made some changes to reflect the Sydney Basin (Greater Sydney and it's surroundings is in lower altitude compared to what lies beyond), added a river start (since Sydney is famous for it's Harbour) and switched around the Mountain tiles (Sydney is on the cusp and it's outer suburbs slightly delve into the Blue Mountains).

Hello, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to CIV, I'm currently playing a game on the Giant Earth map and there is no oil in central or north America. There is some up top in what should be Alaska and northern Canada but that's it. No oil in the Gulf of Mexico at all, no oil in West Africa either. Also there doesn't seem to be any oil in water tiles to build offshore platforms, on the entire map. I used add major deposits of strategic resources option. Does this have anything to do with the lack of realism in placing resources? Thanks.

Edit: Alright I downloaded the in-game editor and I can see there are ocean tiles with oil, however I do not see them once i close the IGE. Any suggestions?

All of my custom civs are compatible with YnAEMP, so long as you use the compatibility patch on their thread.
:goodjob:

1/ & 2/ which map ?
3/ the real fix would be a city name map. planned.
4/ & 6/ if those custom civs are made, see first post to add their TSL.

a display bug then, are they shown when using the resources icons layer on the map ?

the 60 civs DLL is here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=22345

Do not use more players than the number of civilizations with TSL you have installed when using Random selection and do not select the same civilization twice in the setup screen, else the game will crash on launch.

edit: added an important precision in bold :o

Excellent! Time to make my laptop weep.

Incidentally, I've made compatibility patches for all of the major civ modders (LastSword, Tomatekh, MoreCivs, Patria Grande, Colonialist Legacies and myself, as well as Moriboe), so for anyone that's interested in trying the 60 civ DLL, there are now plenty to chose from (though there a lot do overlap).

Here are the direct links to them until their respective mod authors add the links to their OPs:

LastSword
Tomatekh
MoreCivs
Patria Grande
Colonialist Legacies
JFD
Moriboe

Thanks, added to the first post :)

I also added some new TSL to the Earth Huge Map (that could be added to the pack).

Could you please send me just the code of the added CS, there are mismatches when I try to merge your file with mine (I think you've also removed some TSL), TIA :)
