The Democratic Caliphate.

A letter from our Domestic Advisor, who has spent several months going around the empire and collecting information:

"In the name of God, most Compassionate, most Merciful,

This letter is directed towards the Muslim Council in regards to information about the Muslim Community.

Overall, there appears to be no signs of people that are displeased with the Council. However, people are not entirely happy of their situation, and our stability is somewhat shaky. The Muslim Council should address this situation.

Our military is divided into our provinces: Arabia, the Levant, Iraq and Egypt.

We have minimal military in Arabia, with a garrison of archers in Sana'a and Mecca. Four armies are stationed in Iraq, two carrying swords, one with axes and a camel regiment. We have the same army composition in Al-Quds.

Most of our army is stationed in Egypt. Tell-Hisn is garrisoned by two armies, one of swords and one of axes. Al-Uqsur is guarded by a single garrison of pikes. Abu Simbel is guarded by two garrisons of archers. And Iskindariya is garrisoned by two camel regiments and an army of axes.

Both in Babil and Iskindariya, we have people that are ready to relocate and found new cities. There are four workers in Arabia, building pastures and roads. A group of workers are in Iraq, building a road to connect Babil to the rest of the Community. We also have a group of workers building mines in Sinai.

Boutros also began a project to construct a large Spiral Minaret in Al-Quds, and we obviously have markets under construction in Al-Uqsur and Mecca. I am sure Boutros has told you guys the rest.

Anyhow, this was my report. I hope this may be useful, Godwilling.

Peace be with you."

#Suggestion:
In my opinion, using phrase such as InsyaAllah instead of Godwilling will make the letter sounds and feels more authentic lol. IDK, but raised as a minority in a major Islamic country, well I'm just not familiar with the English term for these phrase I often heard (almost) everywhere haha. You could then add the translation in the bracket. Just a suggestion though, if that'll make things more complicated just never mind :)

Have dual leadership!

Oh! I didn't vote? Just realized. I thought I already copied Balashi, but looks like I didn't pasted it lol when I post my suggestion

No lah, it already past the deadline so my vote should not count. I just expressed my "surprisement" that I didn't cast a vote haha. Please stick to the Dual Leadership :)

This spoiler should explain my inactivity adequately:
Spoiler :
So as some of you might have known, I have gone quite a while now without updating this story. The reason for that is that I was able to spend some time with a family member that I rarely saw, so I took full advantage of that opportunity. I apologize if anyone was eager enough, but I will be continuing this story.

Trouble at the Majlis (Majlis means parliament or council)
A significant historical event occurred called the Fitnah al-Qiyada, which translates to the Trial of Leadership. The Majlis (You people) were equally divided on who should be the next leader of the nation, Balashi or Alemayehu.

"He advocates for violence towards those who show no aggression!", shouted an anti-Balashi member. "He's from Ethernopia!", shouted an anti-Alemayehu member. Regardless, the Muslim Council then realized that leadership needed to be decided quickly, so that the Muslim Community does not suffer a division.

"Why not add make them both leaders?", questioned Al-Tenenbaum al-Siddiqui, who believed that it was ultimately the Muslim Community that lead itself, and not an individual leader.

Everyone else agreed, and for 14 terms, both Balashi and Alemayehu ruled in a joint-leadership, both making agreements towards their rights and privileges in accordance to what they can command in the Muslim Community.

This Majlis was famous, and was painted by many famous artists later on in Islamic civilization:

Both Balashi and Alemayehu ruled, but each played a different role, which helped to achieve both of their goals.

Alemayehu was given command of Arabia, the Levant and sparsely populated cities within Egypt. As he promised, he maintained Boutros' projects in Tell-Hisn, Iskindariya, Abu Simbel, Makkah, Sana'a and al-Quds. Alemayehu is also given command of the economy in general, and he decides what to research and where invest. Just as a reminder, Alemayehu wants to improve trade and find more trading partners.

Balashi, on the other hand, called for Jihad against Byzantium. He was given control of the populous cities of Babil and Al-Uqsur, where he sent recruiters for those willing to engage in a struggle against who he views as an enemy of Islam. Alemayehu also gave Balashi command of the entire army of the Muslim Community, to use at his will:

Given that privilege, Balashi ordered scouting missions on the borders of the empire to collect information about the Byzantines.

"Nineve is a stunning beauty, Balashi. The people of Babil are baffled by the pyramid structure at the center of the city. The city is guarded by a single garrison of archers atop a huge wall. It might be risky, but a camel regiment might be able to overwhelm the city if we strike quickly enough."

And based on that, Balashi ordered a camel regiment to camp on the river south of Nineve, in preparation for the inevitable siege. Also to note, Balashi is leading this specific camel regiment. If it dies, Balashi dies.
When questioned about joining the Jihad, Balashi replies with, "It is my honour to struggle in the cause of God, for a cause that is holy and protects the Muslim Community. If I die, our leader Alemayehu will inherit everything that I own. I only ask from him that he continue the Jihad I have started when I have left this life."

"Tyrus is Byzantium's single port city in the Levant, Balashi. It harbours an ancient temple of origins I am unaware of (Seriously, what is that wonder?), though the city should be easy to capture, given that only a single army of foot infantry composite their garrison, and the city is without walls"

"An army of Byzantium's elite cataphracts have positioned themselves in the plains of al-Burayqah. These cataphracts are a sign that the Byzantines might have some sort of presence remaining on North Africa, perhaps in Tunisia. Balashi, we must make sure the Iskindariya is adequately protected from marauding heavy cavalry."

With that information, Balashi knows everything he needs to do. First, he would change the garrisons in Egypt. The pikes in Al-Uqsur would move to Iskindariya, and the second archer garrison in Abu Simbel would relocate to Al-Uqsur:

With Egypt adequately fortified for a cavalry attack, Balashi withdrew the camel regiments in Iskindariya and the foot infantry in Tell-Hisn so that they position themselves in al-Quds:

Finally, two armies of foot infantry were tasked to cross the Tigris river and into Persia, where Byzantium reigns:

Alemayehu is a humble man, and is passively ensuring that the projects in Mecca, Tell-Hisn, Abu Simbel, Sana'a and al-Quds are being maintained. He acknowledges that Balashi has a larger role, but as long as he can do what he believes is beneficial to the community, he is fine with that. In the upcoming terms, he wants to gradually increase the Community's espionage output.

And that ends the first term. Fourteen terms to go guys, and it will be full of narrations.

Here's a tribute to Abdul-Bariq, Uthman-
Muslim World Problems:

I didn't read the rules very carefully, but why no elections?

There are no elections, because their terms did not end yet. Both leaders are still alive, and have fourteen terms. All of that was my planning in the first term. Don't worry. With what's going to happen very soon, the next elections will be pretty interesting.

Hi Moderator, if I may state my opinion, I think this thread is best to be left at DoC. The target market of this thread are DoC players - those who are familiar with DoC's system, etc.

Being moved here, I think there's at least 2 disadvantages that I can think of:
1) The target market are less likely to visit, which is counterproductive, because like me, most of us regular DoC players only open DoC thread. We do visit other threads but not really often. I'm worried if the target market visit less often, it could have effect on the stories itself because it's losing the audiences. [tbh, this is my first time visiting this area]

2) As this is a more general area, anybody who don't even familiar with DoC can just cast their vote and well.. I don't meant to be rude or unwelcome, but I'm just afraid that will ruin the fun. AFAIK, this thread isn't created to attract non-DoC players to try playing DoC, but instead to entertain DoC players while waiting for new versions is released.

I agree with BenZL43, this forum is not specific enough for DoC stories. If it shouldn't be in DoC forum, it should at least be in something like Rhye's and Falls Stories & Tales. Maybe a subforum here, or in Rhye's and Falls forum (which IMO is better).

And only 1 place for all Rhye's and Falls modmods Stories I think is enough, as all of them are related and gathered in Original Rhye's and Falls mod forum. But here I follow the opinion of BenZL43, it's my first time here as well.

This is also valid for Tenenbaum's America Story

I'm fine with my story being here. The only reason I even posted this on DOC forums was because I saw someone else do it so literally, monkey see monkey do.
Whoever is interested should visit and cast their vote occasionally when the time arises.

Don't worry, I'll still check, Sanguivorant. I'll still update America's too.

I think that it's not a problem that these threads are here but it would be good to create a thread in the DoC forum with a list of links to all DoC stories & tales.
