More Civilisations

A rather funny thing with Tuscany's music is that since it apparently came from EU4 it confuses my brother when he hears it.

Blue and gold was also one of our options. And also a very good one.

Ok, Pouakai wanted to see more colour schemes (including "metallic" ones, but I think the competition is between 1 and 2, really. The other ones don't cut it for me, and 3 is too close to both Denmark and Maratha.

I'm using something remarkably similar to 1 in my mod for Macedon - and the PLAYERCOLOR is simply the reverse of the Byzantines. Looks and works really well. If you also think ahead, there's plenty of civs which will suit yellow/gold on dark blue and you might rue using that colour scheme when another would have been suitable!

The India civ pack is awesome. I just completed a game on Gedemon's TSL map (the Huge one) where all Indian civs spawned except for the Mughals. The Marauthi attacked Chola quite early and took two of their cities, while Ashoka was busy taking Calcutta and another city that Gandhi had founded out in China. He didn't stop there though, which is maybe unfortunate since he only got a few dozen turns worth of his UA, but he then took out Chola and got involved in wars with both Persia and the Marauthi. In the end Persia pretty much took over the continent though, steamrolling Marauthi and they were taking Ashoka's cities when I won (CV as Rome).

All in all I loved seeing so much action in the Indian subcontinent, can't wait to see the Mughals and their insane UU in action.

Side note : I also had the Ayyubids in that game, and two of their cities (Maarrat Al-Nu'man and Baza'a) had their name messed up : it showed up as "TXT_KEY_CITY_NAME_AYYUBIDS_BAZA'A" which didn't look great, although I guess they're pretty far down the city list so it's not a huge deal.

The Buccaneers - Henry Morgan

A name that struck fear into all within the Caribbean, the Buccaneers were the most feared pirates of the age of sail, plundering ports of friend and foe alike. They sought only bounty and glory, and frequently became the enemy of those who sought to use their services not a month prior. The legend surrounding these pirates who sailed the caribbean only grew in status, elevating some to mythic status - the likes of Blackbeard, Sir Francis Drake, Henry Morgan and Edward Kenway. Ruins around the caribbean today are testiment to the ferocity of their attacks. The Buccaneers can be downloaded either from Steam Workshop Here or from the CivFanatics Download Database Here.

Yeah, it is an April Fool's special. Been in the works for a while though

In addition to the usual team, this civ has had the help of JFD on it, who essentially finished up the civ and helped troubleshoot due to my Uni work after my first build, so consider this a joint More Civs / Patria Grande / JFD's Civs civ!

Also, we know how much you guys don't like black as a background colour, but we're sorry - too bad on this one. What other colours could fit as good?

Now this is how you do an April Fool's civ. The ridiculously underpowered ones are fine and all, but I'd prefer a joke civ that can actually be effective. And black as a background works fine for pirates. It can be part of the joke.

I must say BTW, that Jan's art on the Buccaneers is seriously amazing. His leaderscene, map and icons are truly top quality.

keep black. Instead change city states that use black and white to something different. Like pink, because pink is awesome.

Anyways nice job on this civ. I'm suprised you got a city list for this one. I would have just made their city list like the Huns.

Yeah, fancy thing about Buccaneers, is that they actually managed to govern some cities. Henry Morgan was governor of Jamaica for a very long time; so a city list is something very doable and historically reasonable.

Pirate city list consists of town, port and island names from all around the Caribbean - as far as I know, no other civ has yet covered this area of the world. Most names should be familiar to anyone who played Sid Meier's Pirates! and used it as a source of geographical knowledge :D

Even though its "just an April Fools' special", I would like to feature it in my scenario "Rise and Fall of the Empires" that's on the works. :) It's a scenario based on 17th-19th century world played on the Giant world map, so a Pirate civ is a must! If it's OK, I would like to build in some other civilizations of yours too, like Tuscany, Kilwa, Mughals, Maratha, Kongo and Mexico.

Keep up the excellent work, guys! :D
