The Democratic Caliphate.

Abd al-Alim Abram received three Bay'ahs.

Abd al-Majid Bayoumi received two Bay'ahs.

Abd al-Haqq Sargon received three Bay'ahs.

(We are having this problem very frequently. There should be one person that stands out, but it is always a tie between two people)

Both Abram and Sargon have gotten an equal number of Bay'ahs (Remember, it means pledge of support). In order to ensure there is only one ruler in the Ummah, Sargon gave his Bay'ah to Abram on the condition that Abram builds two galleys. Abram agrees.

Abram will rule for 15 terms.

As he stated, his goals involve developing the Buddhist culture in Anqarah (Which means building a temple or monastery there), trying to get a Great Prophet and building an Islamic monastery in Makkah.

I will update the story very soon. If anyone has a certain strategy for obtaining these goals, I would love to hear your advice. Remember, you are part of the Muslim Council, and it is the duty of the leader to consult all members of the Council.

Abd al-Alim Abram was given full responsibility of the Islamic Ummah. He also received the pledge of Abd al-Haqq Sargon as long as he built a few galleys, so that is what he did:
Spoiler :

City Management and Finances:
Abram used some of the city's treasury to build schools in Makkah where people could learn Islamic law and study the Qur'an and its interpretations. He bought and used slaves to accomplish this, which was questionable, but it was done nonetheless:
Spoiler :

The city of Al-Uqsur was completely changed during Abram's rule. People were taken out of the land and into the city where they would learn about the application of Islamic law. In particular, Abram wanted to educate people about the concept of pluralism within Islam and its importance, and he decided a large population in Al-Uqsur was a great place to start.

However, because of less farmers working, food supply suffered a steady decrease. However, it would only be temporary, and then farmers would return to work:
Spoiler :

Al-Iskandariya, the major port city of Egypt, also became a commercial powerhouse during Abram's time. Abram invited many guilds and encouraged many businesses to start in the city. The wealth created from taxing these businesses would be used to fund paper construction projects and keep a research rate of 80%, though at a slight deficit. Again, it would only be temporary:
Spoiler :

Return of the Caravan:
The caravan sent to West Africa years ago is finally making its way back to the Ummah:
Spoiler :

Korean-Japanese War Update:
Reports tell us that the Japanese were not very successful in their war against the Koreans. However, not much else is known about the battles:
Spoiler :

Labor Required in Anatolia:
A lot of labour projects completed during Abram's time, and he sent most of the jobless labourers to construct mines and such in Anatolia, so that Anqarah can develop quicker:
Spoiler :

Conversion:
Several Buddhists from Korea managed to travel to Makkah and threatened the Muslims that they would lead themselves to ruin if they don't follow Buddha and dismiss Islam. This angered all the Muslims, even Abram who grew up around Buddhists. To Abram, these Koreans were committing unacceptable behaviour, and kindly sent them back to Korea:
Spoiler :

Most Muslims have become slightly paranoid of Buddhists from that incident, and believe that they want to ruin Islam.

Ethiopian Muslim Community:
Ethiopian Muslims, tired of persecution in the predominantly Taoist cities of Ethiopia, decided to found their own city of Kobbe, on the cotton plains of the Nile. They are still subject to Ethiopian rule however. A regiment of Ethiopian soldiers were sent to Kobbe afterwards to ensure the Muslims of Kobbe do not revolt and found their own state:
Spoiler :

Chinese Revival:
The once independent Chinese kingdoms apparently reunited. The naval fleet that was returning to the Ummah forgot that they cannot trespass Byzantine Persia, so they returned the opposite direction. Perhaps they can meet this new China?
Spoiler :

Fortification and Production at Ninawa:
The walls that were torn down during the Second Byzantine-Muslim War were rebuilt again in Ninawa. the city is now developing forges to increase its productivity:
Spoiler :

Paper Mills:
After several years, the Muslims have finally developed a potent material to record writing. Paper mills developed in the major cities of Makkah, Babil and Al-Uqsur, and replaced papyrus scrolls very quickly. Abram, realizing the potential for paper, decided to get the scholars and teachers to write books that can educate people on many subjects:
Spoiler :

With paper researched, Abram decreased the research rate back to 70%:
Spoiler :

The Map Trades:
Abram sent many geographers to the Moors, and paid the Moors to tell them more about what they know about the world:
Spoiler :

Several maps were created outlining Hispania, as well as Frankland. It appears that the Moors are in direct conflict with the Catholic Kingdoms of Iberia.

There are many theories regarding the ruins south of Paris, but the most prominent was that it was a Roman city that was destroyed by Gallic barbarians.

The Indians required a large sum of money to reveal their maps, and Abram understood why:
Spoiler :

The Indians know just about all of the world and its geography. How expansive the world is. Muslims gazing at this map remember the Qur'anic verses: "Do they not look at the Earth - how it is spread out?"

Pala Expansionism:
The Turkic city of Afrosiyab has been conquered by the Pala empire, that has ambitions to stretch out their empire. Muslims are neutral to this, and do not give any response:
Spoiler :

Religious Pluralism in the Ummah:

After dealing with business in Al-Uqsur, Abd al-Alim Abram travelled to Anqarah and gave the Buddhists licenses to make their religious monasteries. He even facilitated their construction of a pilgrimage site in Anqarah.

The vision of Buddhists Stupas and Islamic Mosques erected side by side reveal the kind of tolerance that exists for non-Muslims in the Ummah:
Spoiler :

In addition to the development of Buddhist culture in Anqarah, the city also attracted many Buddhist pilgrims from around the world, and the city was able to collect revenue from it:
Spoiler :

The Spiral Minaret:
A project that started in Boutros' time finally finished during Abram's rule. It was a magnificent structure that portrayed the dominance of Islam in the region. It was also a major tourist attraction, and many Muslims came to al-Quds to see the Spiral Minaret:
Spoiler :

And that is the end of Abd al-Alim Abram's term. Elections will take place as soon as the next Hajj begins.

Here is some domestic/foreign information for those who would like:

Spoiler :

All the governors have arrived in Makkah to discuss the election of a new leader. Three of those governors remained prominent:

Abd al-Salam Sudjarwadi:
An Indonesian Muslim who is the leader of the Muslim community of Tumasik. An excellent navigator and merchant, he has travelled many times by sea, and has his own trading company in Tumasik.

Policies:
-Have one naval unit in the Mediterranean.
-Construct a canal that connects the Mediterranean to the Red Sea.
-Promote inventions for better navigation technology (Compass).

Abd al-Razzaq Liron:
A Palestinian Muslim who is fascinated in weaponry. He joined the military when he was in his teens, and always complained about how the army is just too under-equipped and that most recruits don't receive much training. He wishes to change that.

Policies:
-Keep research rate at 50% until all upgradable armies are upgraded.
-Research Engineering.
-Built at least three barracks/stables.

Abd al-Hayy Laqip:
A rich Muslim from Ninawa who uses any wealth he makes to free slaves. He believes that slavery is a great liability that could threaten the Ummah if Muslims continued to use it. He sees the value of rural life, and wants to expand the Ummah's food supply.

Policies:
-Switch to Agrarianism
-Research Civil Service
-Have no more than one specialist population in a city at a time.

Good to build buddhist shrine.

Abd al-Razzaq Liron, strong army, continue conquests.

Abd al-Razzaq Liron

Abd al-Salam Sudjarwadi. Let's start getting ready to sail to the New World!

Voting is closed.

Abd al-Salam Sudjarwadi:
3 Bay'at.

Abd al-Razzaq Liron:
3 Bay'at.

Abd al-Hayy Laqip:
No Bay'ah.

Once again (Damnit people), two leaders have gotten an equal amount of pledges. In order to maintain unity in the Ummah, Sudjarwadi gave his pledges to Liron so that he gets 100% support of the Muslim Council.

As Liron has promised, he wants to improve military infrastructure and the equipment of the military.

(We should also try to address the problem of two people always getting equal votes. It's really neck and neck every time.)

Liron has been elected as the new leader for the Ummah, and he used that to his full advantage.

Preferring military acquisition over scientific development, Liron took out 20% from the research projects and sent it to the military treasury. He would use these finances to upgrade the military of the Ummah. He also stopped the research of education in favour of machinery:
Spoiler :

Extensive Use of Slavery:
Throughout his career, Liron was not hesitant to use forced labour to build infrastructure. Noticing the mistrust a lot of people had towards the Buddhists, Liron dictated that any Buddhist that was deemed suspicious would be forced into slavery. This would bite the Ummah back later, but it did get a lot of infrastructure completed:
Spoiler :

Tell-Hisn would become a training ground for cavalry, with its rough terrain allowing mounted soldiers to practice maneuvering tactics:
Spoiler :

Inspired by Sudjarwadi's aspirations to control the Mediterranean, Liron requested the construction of warships in the city of Sur:
Spoiler :

Crossbow Production:
Liron much preferred the crossbow to the arrow, stating, "It is like throwing the hijarah min sijeel, stones of baked clay that makes any living being like an empty field of stalks and straw". Therefore, Liron invested a lot in crossbow production:

Spoiler :

Al-Rus:
Spoiler :

Volga Vikings have been encountered coming into Anqarah from the Caspian Sea. They are merely tradesmen that wanted to establish trade routes along the Volga River. Not much is known of their kind, but they do not look friendly.

Buddhist Uprisings!
The Buddhists, who were used extensively for slave labour in the Ummah, finally had enough. They started major revolts in both Mesopotamia and Egypt. Liron, realizing his mistake, tried to address their problems in both places. In Mesopotamia, the slaves were easily bribed and freed from labour:
Spoiler :

In Egypt, the slaves refused the bribe, and have built major encampments south of Al-Uqsur and provided the Ummah with a real threat:

Spoiler :

Liron saw this as rebellion, and ordered the cavalry regiments in Anqarah to quickly move to Egypt to fight the rebels. The camel regiment in Iskandariyah was quickly sent to aid the exposed labourers:
Spoiler :

Breaking the Encampment:
Liron ordered the pike and spear regiments from Abu Simbel to march towards the encampments and pillage as much as they can. They were successful, and many rebel slaves were killed. Some surrendered, and because Islamic Warrior Code was the backbone of the military, their surrender had to be accepted:
Spoiler :

However, that did not deter the rebels, and they conducted a series of ambushes where they murdered the same armies that attacked them:
Spoiler :

Much was lost. The situation was looking grave, and Liron ordered all labourers in the area to move north, away from the combat:
Spoiler :

The Final Assault:
The Cavalry from Anqarah finally arrived, and a huge attack was made on the encampments by mounted archers. The rebels, limited in speed, were unable to even flee from their onslaught. The rebellion was finally controlled. Slaves that were captured before they surrendered were taken in every city in the Ummah and butchered at the city square. "This is indeed the fate of the oppressors", the executioners ironically proclaimed:
Spoiler :

The Song Empire:
The Chinese peoples have recently been united under the Song Dynasty, and have been contacted by Muslim traders living in the Indian Peninsula. The traders were invited to the Chinese city of Fuzhou, where free trade agreements were signed. The Ummah would later exchange Makkan goats for bananas, a strange fruit that the Chinese produce:
Spoiler :

Volgan Buddhists:
Many Buddhists fled the Ummah from the Caspian Sea, and travelled to various communities across the Volga River. Many of the Rus accepted their teachings and adopted them. Liron feels that the Buddhist expansion might have negative consequences for the Ummah:
Spoiler :

At the end of Liron's term, just before his death, he changed the treasury so that 90% of all its revenue goes into scientific research:
Spoiler :

While leading the Duhr prayer one day, a Buddhist disguised as a Muslim prayed behind him, hiding a knife in his pocket. When the prayer started, the Buddhist stabbed Liron twice in the shoulder and once in the back where his heart is located. Before he could be subdued, the Buddhist shouted "Buddha is great!" and sliced his own throat.

Liron was dead instantly. Many Muslims call him the second Umar, as Umar ibn al-Khattab also died by assassination.

Before I call in the next Muslim Council, I would like to ask something.

Are you guys still interested in this story, or is it becoming redundant?

I have an idea of a different story, one that will be played in RFC DoC, but it will be very different. It will involve an Alien Invasion that occurs at around the same time that the Mayans come.

I could continue this story if it still interests people. If not, I can start this new Alien Invasion story, where I kind of sit back, and watch an AI computer with a huge technological advantage try to take over the world. Don't worry, I won't give the aliens so much of an advantage. If you know CFCoasters' stories, this one will kind of be like that. So what would you guys like?
