Nineteen Twenty-Four

Holy Germanic Empire

Short Name: Germany
Government: (Republic) The empire consists of a few dozen states, each of which sends one "Elector" to the Imperial Diet. Most elector titles are hereditary, although a few are religious (generally from the prince-bishoprics) or elected (generally from one of the free cities). The Diet is overseen by the Kaiser, who rules for life. The diet is responsible for electing a new Kaiser and votes on law changes and acts of war. Executive actions, including most military activities and state owned factories, is managed by the Kaiser or his administration.
Capital: Regensburg
Current Imperial House: Hohenzollern

Tax: 15%
Tariffs: None
Starting Factories: 15 are publically owned by the Kaiser, the other 5 are privately owned.

Ruling Party: Kaiserlichepartei: The Kaiserlichepartei are the current supporters of the Kaiser and House Hohenzollern in general. They generally support actions performed by the reigning Kaiser and will elect a relative of him when the time comes. Otherwise, they tend to be right leading and highly nationalist.
Other Parties:
Gegensatz zu Haus Hohenzollern: The Gegensatz zu Haus Hohenzollern is a loose coalition of electors who wish to see House Hohenzollern replaced by another noble house, and generally ties for largest party with the Kaiserlichepartei. Despite their size, disagreement over who best to replace the Hohenzollern means they have yet to successfully overthrow them. The Gegensatz rarely vote as a block, but when they do, it is in opposition to the Kaiser.
Fürstbischöfe Des Reichstags: The Fürstbischöfe Des Reichstags represent the religious right of Germany, mostly through the Prince-Bishops in the diet. They are currently loosely allied with the Kaiserlichepartei, although will vote against them if the proposal works against the church. Since clergy are not allowed to be voted Emperor, they tend to support the Hohenzollern.
Föderalistischepartei: The Föderalistischepartei are a slightly leftist party whose goal is to reduce the power of the centralized government, in favor of the individual states. They tend to vote with The Gegensatz. However, some radicals within the Föderalistischepartei wish to remove the title of the Kaiser entirely, something opposed by all but the Volkspartei.
Volkspartei: The Volkspartei is the socialist party of Germany. They are radically opposed to the current government, instead favoring the creation of a communist government in line with the USSR. They have a very small presence within the diet, consisting of only a few elected officials, but maintain a fair amount of popularity with the lower class.

Claims:
Spoiler :

In all other nations, big businessmen keep almost all money they make.
In USSR, everything belongs to the state and goes to state coffers.
So, USSR is the best nation. We are the largest nation. We are the richest nation.
AND WE HAVE GREAT LEADER STALIN!!

Joining as the Every Man a King party in the US.

OOC: You actually can't set separate tax rates for foreign versus domestic companies.

Rule Addition: A country can restrict the number of foreign factories built within itself by selling licenses. It is like a tariff, only it increases the amount foreign companies have to pay to expand to build a factory within your country.

I somehow forgot to add maintenance costs to military. As usual, armies drain 1 IP, fleets and wings drain 2 IP.

I will fill the map up tonight with NPCs.

The game will start tomorrow afternoon.

Rejoining as Mosher Industries, a corporation. 10 factories in Krakow.

Kingdom of Greater Egypt

Capital: Cairo
Government: Executive Monarchy (similar to the German Empire)
Leader: King Fuad

Factions:
-Wafd Party: An economically and socially liberal party, with backing from the middle class and business interests. The Wafd Party supports economic liberalization and the opening of Egypt, as well as further democratization and federalization, and progress towards devolution for Cyprus, Yemen, Kenya/Uganda, and (although less so recently thanks to violence) Somaliland. Currently, the Wafd Party holds a majority in the unicameral National Assembly.
-Watani Party: The major conservative party in the National Assembly, the Watani Party largely represents the interests of wealthy landowners.
-HADITU (Democratic Movement for National Liberation): A popular Communist-inspired movement. Although HADITU's ancestral organizations were founded by leaders amongst the urban working class, their current leadership has - in somewhat of a split from Moscow - taken the party towards a considerable agrarian-socialist direction, and as such HADITU has gained significant inroads amongst the rural poor, particularly in the Sudan, an area largely seen as a backwater. While HADITU has seen members elected to seats in the National Assembly, those elected have refused to be seated since they do not pledge loyalty to the crown.
-Swahili Independence Association (KUP): A separatist/autonomist movement in far southern Egypt. Unlike the similarly minded Somali Revolutionary Council, the KUP is entirely peaceful and . The KUP holds almost all of the National Assembly's constituencies in Kenya and Uganda.
-Somali Revolutionary Council: A violent separatist movement in Somaliland, with significant support amongst disaffected ethnic Somali rural poor, that has managed to conduct several successful attacks on government forces in recent years. The Council was formed from a split in the Somali separatist movement, which left moderate elements marginalized.

The American Republic of Texas

Spoiler :

Forgot to mark my capital on the map, assume it is Dallas (and mark it on the map as the middle northern one in mainland Texas.

Democracy

20 Provinces

2 Public Factories.
18 Private Factories.

Leader: President Prescott Bush

Tax Rate: 10%

Ruling Party: The Vanguards

The Vanguards rule Texas benevolently. After the chaos following The Great War, Prescott Bush was the one who rallied Texas to secede from the ever growing corruption in the USA, and the USA let them go as part of 'self determination'. Several other western states followed suit, some independently and some in unions with other states. Upon Secession, Bush founded the Vanguards Party in order to be the 'Vanguards' of a new age of prosperity. Under his leadership the Vanguards hold a 70% majority in congress and a respectable reputation in the region, as well as even a small amount of influence on the world stage ever since he moved into Panama and the Caribbean to re establish order. Such actions were done with the blessing of the League of Nations to stop widespread violence and corruption in these areas. They currently have the policy of a small but elite military as well as a tiny tax rate in order to encourage investors to invest in this new Republic.

The Phoenix Party

The Phoenix Party is a reactionary segment of the population that believe Texas has a responsibility to take neighboring states under their wing and begin to establish itself as the successor to the true USA in more than just spirit. They were the ones who pushed for intervention in Panama to seize the canal. However their beliefs are often accused of being radical and dangerous to the survival of the Republic, and Bush has walked the line of appeasing them.

Republican Party

Although the traditional parties are shadows of what they once were, they still exist even in Texas. The Republicans main platform is centered around isolation, keeping taxes low, keeping the military small, and investing in other countries to earn their trust. However, they are an extreme minority in Texas at the moment with most of the people who might have supported them instead joining the Vanguards.

Democrat Party

The Democratic Party is even smaller than the Republican Party, and mostly advocates more public factories in order to increase government revenues to protect Texas from the old USA which may come back looking for revenge. They are currently in a coalition with the Hellfire Party.

Hellfire Party

A staunchly jingoist party, they number about the same as the Republicans and are in a coalition with the Democrats in order to advocate for a larger military. However, they wish to build a military by stagnating factory growth and increasing taxes, which is opposed by just about everyone outside their coalition. The Vanguards have appeased this coalition by the promise of investing in the navy in the coming years, yet with the meager revenues coming to the state this promise is appearing shaky at best.

Your claims overlap quite heavily with Jeho's.

Specifically Texas.

Oh. Whoops, I completely missed Deseret's post. Hmm.

Jeho care to relinquish Texas perhaps? We will lower tariffs to 0 between our countries and give you military access as well as freedom through the Canal.

If Jeho declines, then I will join as a corp or a rebel group.

Tentative map.
