Now I know this is definitely Alternate History. We Texans wouldn't contemplate joining Mexico although quite a lot of us contemplate becoming independent and re-establishing the Republic of Texas.

Well if the people you were rebelling against had most their army right in your state capital, and you kicked them out, and the Mexican army was only a few miles past them, then I think Texas by default would join the Mexican United States to fight the America United States. At least temporarily.

State of Emergency: Foster Withdraws All Foreign Troops
Troops in Africa, Latin America, and Russia were ordered to immediately head back to the United States following a declared state of emergency by President Foster. Troops were either transported where safe, or flown. The panic in evacuated areas led to a political vacuum that led most of Africa, Latin America, and Russia to seek foreign protection. Nicaragua's quick evacuation led to Mexican forces to annex the area. Italian forces in Somalia moved into Kenya. South African forces moved up and took the surrounding Salisbury area. Russia declared America's eastern port in Russia liberated. Colombia began an anarchist dive, and out of the ashes is appearing a new Colombian state. Only Ireland, with the Irish Socialist Labor Party, is under strong American influence due to their close ties with Foster.

I do fear our new free republic of Australia will over extend itself now. It seems that now may well be the best moment for both Foster and Bruce to sit down and negotiate Peace that leaves an independent but friendly Australian (Possibly South African as well) state as well as allowing Foster to focus on more pressing matters.... But is Foster the type of guy to negotiate?

Some people already think there are too many civs in DoC, the more civs you get the more the game slows down as well I believe.
Having said that if you took out some of the imo useless civs like Tibet and made room for more conditional spawn civs that would be cool

To be fair considering nukes have just been discovered and haven't even been used in combat yet i'd figure knowledge of what the devastation they'd cause is something along the Pre-Hiroshima lines. So basically the average person would think "It's just a really big bomb. How bad would it be if we used it?"
