My estimation of Foster, ( from a neutral point of view comparing him with other presidents ) is that under very difficult circumstances, he did do a good job and brought back some order while directing the world towards a more stable course of events ( e.g the anti-nuke referendum in the UN ) . Connolly I reckon will be a softer leader and will keep the path of welfare and turn back from the war communism stance, but only after decisive victory over the secessionists which is still pending. Foster however, has managed foreign policy effectively enough to keep things on track. He is far from the best US president ( Debs gets that position hands down ) but he is definitely a capable president.

Btw the "failure" of Foster is the fault of the secessionists. Also, Dixie as a state failed. It was a bad idea, we must not do that again!

Ended the Dixie Rebellion and Pacific Columbia secessions, annexed Mexico, and joined Sweden and Denmark into the USSA. Created the Communist International and aligned several nations with Fosterist, or Stalinist Communism. Successful led a political battle against Trotskyists. Increased scientific funding. Reduced corporate influence. Wants to continue winning the Polly War, retaking Pacific possessions, and re-uniting South Africa.
Earl Browder, Age 41, political activist, author, and rising leader of the Communist Party following Foster's heart attack. Wants to further strengthen power of workers. Wants to refound the Communist International, and work with the organization to reduce Trotskyist terrorism and propaganda. Seeing the Communist Party begin to weaken under Foster's administration, he finds himself a stronger, more able leader. Wants to sign a coalition with the Socialist Party to increase political stability. Opposes fascism.
Tim Buck, Age 41, Canadian communist politician. Wanting to instead focus on domestic policies and military preparation, he wants to stall the invasion of South Africa. Supports strengthening workers and creating more government programs. Wants to help Fosterist allies in their wars.

There is already a Canadian candidate. The media reports that everyone qualified to run that has support is already in the race.

What I was saying was from the point of the US population. If most people who hate communism left the country or revolted, then there would be few, if any, valid candidates left to form an opposing party. Assuming there was a politician left who opposes the Communist Party, he/she wouldn't have enough support from the US population due to most of his possible supporters having already left the Union.
I'm just being realistic here.
