Shooting at Private Airfield!
NEW YORK, NEW YORK - Former Governor of New York Logan Whitmeyer, after a bill of impeachment was introduced in the New York State Senate, resigned from office and left for Italy to meet with fellow anti-communist T. Renzo Lancelot Trevisian. On the way to his airfield, he was pursued by several vehicles, rumored from anti-capital punishment radicals (Offended by several bills passed earlier this year) to Secret Service members. As Whitmeyer's vehicle arrived at the airport, one of the pursuing men pulled out a submachine gun and opened fire on the fleeing Whitmeyer. The former governor was not injured (as sources in Italy say), but three were killed in the shootout, including Whitmeyer's top aide, an elderly man, 83, and a flight attendant for a small municipal airline. No names have been released yet. -Dylan Wallace, Associated Press
