Description:

Viktor_CreatorSkin.jpg

Level: 2
XP: 3400

HP: 25
WP: 25

Stats: These showcase your abilities, both natural and trained. Each one has a purpose. You start with 5 points in each stat and 12 points to customize. You cannot drop below 1 point in a stat or go above 10 pre-Feats.
  • -STR: 7 Strength. Represents muscle power. Adds to your melee damage.
  • -DEX: 4 Dexterity. Represents flexibility and speed. Adds to your melee hit chance.
  • -VIT: 7 Vitality. Represents toughness and constitution. Adds 3HP per point of VIT, and increases your resilience to poisons and other physical effects.
  • -REF: 4 Reflex. Represents your ability to react quickly. Adds to your ability to dodge any physical attack.
  • -CON: 8 Concentration. Represents your ability to focus your mind. Adds to your power hit/success chance.
  • -INT: 10 Intelligence. Represents raw brainpower. Adds to your power damage or duration, depending on what you're doing.
  • -WIS: 5 Wisdom. Represents street smarts and quick thinking. Adds to your ranged damage and charisma attacks.
  • -AIM: 5 Accuracy. Represents hand-eye coordination and shooting skills. Adds to your ranged hit chance and perception.
  • -WILL: 7 Willpower. Represents mental and emotional toughness. Adds 3WP per point of WILL, and increases your resilience to charisma and mental attacks.

Feats:
The Smart One: Wiktor is a natural genius, rivaling even Dr. Fusion in raw brain power and capacity, and his augmented body only made him smarter.
Beyond Human: When Wiktor shed his mortal and feeble body for his current mechanical one he gaind many enhancements and augmentations that improved almost all of his former bodies capabilities.
Phelbotinum Projectile: Wiktor has various ways to create lasers, from his laser built into his third arm to his staff. Not surprisingly it is not fun to be on the receiving end of one of them.
Adaptive Technology: Wiktor has various modules that he can install in his robotic body that affects his performances, however, they are not the easiest to carry or install and thus must be done at home base before he goes out. Each module is tailored to buff a certain area.

Modules: (to be approved by LH)
  • Mental Module: +2 to INT, WIS, and WILL
  • Physical Module: +2 to STR, VIT, DEX
  • Perception Module: +2 to AIM, REF, CON

Adaptive Technology 2: Wiktor has various 3rd arms and attachments to augment his fighting capabilities, among other things. Once again, these are difficult to attach and install, and cannot be done in the middle of a mission. Each "Arm" is tailored to buff something, but some will provide great power at the cost of something.

Arms: (Again to be approved by LH, please feel free to make changes on either)
Death Ray: An improvement over his base arm laser, this provides +2 to damage and sets enemies on fire. However, this "arm" has no function as a hand and provides a -1 to dexterity because of it.

THE SCARLET HAND IS ON THE LOOSE!

Cambion, Shade Paw and the Scottish Actor were enjoying their prison in the Australian Outback when Gabriel, Cambion’s old friend and now archenemy, appeared to speak with him for the first time in years. Before anything could be said, however, an explosion sounded through the facility and Cambion was able to free himself and the others, while Maynard appeared and blasted Gabriel through a wall. The three new escapees were introduced to Jess, a blonde with a blade who claims to have freed Maynard to start with.

Later, Abijah, The Defiant Dubliner and Heimdallr were liberated from a prison in Brazil, defeating a team of elite Peacekeeper guards in the process. The Order’s forces moved north to the third prison, where Maya was held captive along with Attis and anyone else who hasn’t finished their character yet. Before they could enter the prison, a team of supers appeared from inside – Crazy Ivan, his beautiful and deadly daughters, Cryodancer and Pyrodancer, and Terror himself.

Shade Paw infiltrated the facility while the rest of the team engaged in a superpowered brawl in the roaring snow, with grenades, arrows, forcefields and elemental attacks flying thick and fast. The first to go down was Pyrodancer, victim of a deadly deluge of damage from the Dubliner, followed quickly by her father from a tag team of Abijah casting a forcefield around him and the Scottish Actor making him think it wasn’t there with a quick illusion. Crazy Ivan tossed a thermobaric grenade that blew him sky high, though he somehow survived the attack.

Shade Paw managed to free Myra and Attis, who rushed outside to finish defeating Cryodancer and Terror, but before the battle could be ended a green comet appeared in the northern sky. Maynard ordered a retreat, deciding that discretion was the better part of valor when it came to facing the Emerald Knight, and the team escaped after failing to take Cryodancer hostage. On the flight away, Maynard revealed the goal of the Scarlet Hand: to find and seize an alien artifact known as the Codex of Knowledge and use its vast power to redesign the world as a fairer, better place.

Now landed at a hidden base in the Appalachian Mountains, who knows what villainous plans the Scarlet Hand has in store for the world next?

Everyone earned 1900XP total for that mission and is Level 2. You can either upgrade a Level One Feat to Level Two, or you can take a Training Montage Feat, or you can save your feat for later. You also gain ten each of HP and WP.

US Army next to feel the heat of the Hand!

In a lightning assault, the entire force of the Scarlet Hand descended on an army base in Arizona. The objective was to recover microchips from Heimdallr's battle suits so he can build more. The team defeated close to 20 soldiers and Kinich convinced the driver of a tank that he was God before the tank blew up.

While the fight raged Shade Paw slipped into the base and stole the chips, then convinced a young soldier to blow up the storage room. The team fled back to base for evil RP.

Well **** that mission. The fight was boring since all I had were nameless goons. Will do better in the future.

All PCs gain 1500XP. Next mission TBA but next Monday (not day after tomorrow) at the latest, and after that we'll be back to a regular Mondays schedule.

Everyone is level 3, even new joiners. Everyone should have 6 Feats total - 4 from character creation, one upgrade/ training montage from Lev 2, and another full feat from 3.

Scottish Actor is missing an upgrade and a feat, and Shade Paw and Heimdallr are missing one feat each.

Unless Plot Ages is running, IF I am at a place with internet, and if I'm not gone home by then, I might be running a mission tomorrow at 4-5ish EST. Confirming that Monday at 5 is the next mission after that regardless. If no mission tomorrow it'll be Monday at the usual time, where it will be for the next few months.

See you Monday or maybe tomorrow. (33% chance as of now)

um, LH, I have class from 3 - 5 (and then i have to commute home which adds about another hour of nonavailability) MST Monday and Wednesday.

So i can't make it at that time, would it be better for me to just drop or what?

You can show up mid mission and drop right in.

I don't have home internet except on my phone, which I cannot GM from. My only regular time for the next few months will be Mondays and I'll only have 5PM-9ish so I can't start much later. I'm sorry :/

However, showing up a little late won't decrease your XP gain.

Next mission will probably be an RP mission whenever it is. I'm not 100% but that's the plan.

alright

Do RP missions give XP? If so, would a player be able to gain XP from RP missions by showing up and then ignoring everything in chat?

RP missions giving XP is an unlikely event, since for Order I'm keeping all players at the same XP level regardless of attendance. However, if I see one player doing a really good job or trying hard, I probably would issue a reward of some kind, though probably a one-use buff or power instead of an XP boost. Tis possible though.

In regards to the second, I'm not in the habit of giving rewards for nothing in missions in which any XP/boosts/anything of any sort are rewards for exceptional performance :p

Custom feat: Wound transfer. Can drain HP from enemy. Amount drained is directly proportional to the amount of HP Endure has lost and inversely proportional to the amount of HP the target has lost. In other words, the attack gets stronger the lower Endure's HP is and the higher the target's HP is.

Bio: Nathan Durant used to be one of the most legendary paramedics in Philadelphia's EMS service, able to save and stabilize patients who seemed to be beyond hope. What his coworkers didn't know was that he had the power to take on all or part of a person's injuries, transferring them to himself. He also worked as medical support for the superhero team FIRE under the codename Endure. Then, somebody leaked his secret identity. Within days, he was inundated with letters from people asking him to cure their cancer and AIDS, and even some from grieving mothers asking him to resurrect their dead children. Thinking that he had been wasting his life protecting greedy, shortsighted fools, he turned to a life of crime, discovering that his powers worked in reverse in the process.

Mission 3 Summary:

Superpowered Brawl in Kentucky!

The team launched an assault on a US government storage facility in Kentucky in an effort to drive a wedge further between the USA and the Peacekeepers by highlighting the supers’ inability to protect America. Despite stumbling into an attempted theft of data from a third party, the team was able to acquire the technology they came to steal before they were ambushed by Pyrodancer, Cryodancer, Crazy Ivan, Lyrebird and Gabriel. After a vicious fight that saw Shade Paw KO’d and both Dancers defeated, Gabriel led the supers in retreat from the facility.

After the brawl, fear has spiked in the United States and tensions have exploded between the Peacekeepers and the White House. Maynard’s use of secret technology to send the footage of the supers having their butts kicked to every cell phone and social media site in North America has played a part in this, and the United States is teetering on the brink of a full-scale break with the Peacekeepers.

Notable Changes due to this mission:

Jess has been revealed to be Crazy Ivan’s nonpowered daughter, and the identical triplet sibling to Cryodancer and Pyrodancer

Cambion has acquired Lyrebird’s 3-foot staff. It has the ability to extend a foot in each direction at the touch of a button. Further analysis might provide clues as to Lyrebird’s identity.

Everyone gains 1000XP from the mission. This puts the XP total at 4400 for everyone, making you all Level 4. You all gain a feat upgrade and 10WP and HP. Stats have been adjusted accordingly.

I'm available tonight, but probably not tomorrow(though I might be, stay tuned). Assuming Plot Ages is running tonight, next mission will be Monday. If it's off for whatever reason, which I will assume it isn't, I might be talked into an RP mission or even a full one around 5PM.

Stay tuned. I'm updating the superhero/villain database as I post this.

Violet Defeated By The Scarlet Hand!

The Team attacked a college in Virginia, capturing a Senator who is known for working alongside Lyrebird and Violet. After capturing him and the class he was speaking to, the Order forced Violet to fight them, and after a vicious brawl in which half the team was nearly killed, she was defeated and most of the college was turned into a burning war zone.

Notable changes due to this mission:

Everyone is now Level 5 with 1600 additional XP, making the total 6000. +1 Feat, +10HP/WP

Rosa has acquired Senator Robertson's watch. It serves as some kind of homing device, though at the moment it's unclear who it contacts other than "the supers". Further study might yield some results.

Rosa has ALSO acquired two syringes from Violet, one of a pink liquid and the other of yellow. Violet dosed herself with an instance of the pink earlier in the fight before showing a massive surge of power - after chemical tests by Attis, Mantis and anyone else with chemistry skills, here are the findings:

Spoiler :
Special Feat: Serum Surge
Unique To: Violet

BENEFITS: Doubles all Power attack and damage rolls
CONS: Doubles all damage taken and sacrifices one action

OTHER: The pink chemical is the "Serum" which enhances Violet's abilities, and the yellow is some kind of antidote. Violet would roll for INT when injecting herself, against a roll modified by her VIT. If her injection roll fails, the chemical would fail to interact properly with her body and accomplish nothing. If this happened with the second dose, Violet would enter overdose and take 25WP and HP damage each turn until she injected herself with the antidote.

Maynard's Notes: Violet shows incredible power when she injects herself with the Serum, but she's also vulnerable. Perhaps it would be possible to trap her, acquire a substantial source of the Serum, and then pump it into her until she overdoses? A risky move, considering the power she shows, but it may defeat her for good. Until then, all Order operatives should hammer her with every weapon at their disposal as soon as she takes her Serum - any defenses likely wouldn't stand up to her enhanced attacks anyway, so a first strike would give us a fighting chance.

Probable RP mission tonight, at the usual time. If a lot of people are there I would be willing to make it a full mission, but I might rather just play a group XCOM game when the time comes. We'll see.

Also, I am not going to announce regular mission times in the thread. Scarlet Hand will run a mission EVERY MONDAY AT 5PM EST. I will make comments for missions that don't occur at this time or for when I cannot run a mission at this time - if I haven't said anything otherwise, the mission will be at the regular time.

Stats (and age :p ) updated, and I took Charmer as a feat.

By the power of retcons, Dubliner loses 10 years of age, going from the 'wise' old 'man' of the group to one of the younglings. :dubious:

So, the pool is now taking bets upon how long it will be before Jess attempts to murder Abijah. And on how long it will be before Abijah goes Yandere on Rosa. And on how long it will be before Maynard finally snaps at having to deal with this team.

And I figured we should record for posterity our first open communication to the world at large, so here it is...
Spoiler Shade Paw's Speech :
*The Camera turns on to reveal Shade Paw standing behind a Podium, in front of it a man in a suit recognisable to some as a US Senator.*

"Attention World. I'm sure those of you who aren't watching now will see this in the days to come. My name, for those who do not yet know, is Shade Paw, and I stand before you as a representative of the Order of the Scarlett Hand. As you can no doubt see, we have your guy. I'm sure he's important for something or other, but that's not really the point. The point is we have him. And a whole bunch of people over there, but they're not important, so you probably care more about them. I mean him. You get the idea.

Anyway, we have Your Senator. And there is nothing that the peacekeepers can do about it. We could, if we so choose, Kill him where he stands. There is nothing they can do about this. They have made a lot of speeches lately of their intent to protect you, to put us down and run us into the ground. This is our rebuttal: We are here, and they are not. There is nothing they can do about it. For all their promises, they are now powerless against us. Think well upon this.

And before they rush in, as they are sure to do, a message for them."

*Shade Paw holds up a remote, thumb hovering over the single visible button*

"Don't make any rash moves heroes. After all, we wouldn't want anything bad to happen..."

Everyone agrees that it was the best speech, and there was no face-palming en masse at the end of the first paragraph. :mischief:

EDIT: Behold a few of my masterpiece sketches: Shade Paw and Abijah, Abijah alone, Maynard, and Endure in the Kitchen. Anyone looking at this in retrospect will note a lot of the pictures have been removed, mostly because they were almost unrecognizable due to poor image quality.

Apparently the Public Face of the Team Now

Again, I might be available tonight. Check in around 5PM EST. If I'm not there and not on Steam, I'm not available. :p

EDIT: Just noticed Plot Ages is running tonight. Kinich has priority - if he's running, I'll gladly cede the timeslot.

EDIT EDIT: Never mind. Something's come up and I won't have internet tonight. Possible tomorrow though(I doubt it personally).

Next mission as per usual if no tomorrow, and even if there is a mission tomorrow. If Magnive is present it'll be the factory raid to complete his little subplot about building his suits. If he is not present then it'll be the start of a new mission chain.

Battle in China!

The team flew to China after the Dragon made an announcement that he would reveal information about the Codex of Knowledge in exchange for a fair fight. After a bunch of GM issues, the mission was fast-forwarded through due to major balance seesawing problems, and it was assumed to be a tactical retreat for the Scarlet Hand after making Dragon talk and being ambushed by Gabriel, Lyrebird and Prism, who demonstrated stunning powers and immunity to flashbangs.

Everyone gains 800XP. Mission tonight, either for real or an RP.

-L

I have an announcement!

New scheduling for the game: my schedule is changing a bit and here is how I'm codifying the new setup.

MONDAYS at 5EST I can run either a moderate-small mission or an RP. I'm only available until 8-9EST.

TUESDAYS at the same time I'm down at my parents' house instead of Starbucks and can usually host a full mission or an RP. If Monday was a mission it'll probably be an RP. I'm free till 10ish.

FRIDAY I have the same availability as Tuesday, but I plan on a full mission regardless of RPs.

Mission tonight, probably a full one but potentially just an RP depending on turnout.

Now, checking in: according to my outline we should reach the mission titled CROSSROADS(the end of the second act) after the Friday the 17th mission. I'll actually be schedule finagling to do that, because starting October the 18th I'm housesitting for my parents for a week and will have 24/7 internet access. CROSSROADS is going to be a huge mission so I reeeaaallly would like to dedicate a much longer period than usual to it, probably starting early afternoon on Sunday the 19th. If Saturday works better, call out.

Finale tentatively scheduled for ~Nov. 20th. That's if we maintain 2 full missions a week and if there are no conflicts in any way(I'll want to handle the finale the same as CROSSROADS timing wise).

Let me know what you can do for those. All these times are negotiable except Mondays.

Everyone gains 400XP from the Dancers' capture.
