Germany: Ein Neuer Tag

I bet you can guess who I'm going to vote.

Friedrich Wilhelm attended to the crowd near the Reichstag building in Berlin today. Friedrich, now being called "The Soldier King" in expectations of victory for the election, gave a speech in thanks to those who voted for him.

"...By the grace of God, I will make Germany a great nation!" Friedrich stated.

Friedrich Wilhelm I wins landslide victory!

But I don't mean playing in the team, I'm actually in the marching band

Me too unfortunately. I hate marching and I have to go for a few hours.

European football all the way babies! Wooo! :D By the way, if you say football in the story, it is understood as soccer :D

Well I just got back from the (American) football game.

Unfortunately, I have to give you guys the commonplace news: I have no way of accessing my laptop (with my Civ) on it, until Sunday.

I hate doing this, but what am I supposed to do?

Don't worry about it Noob :) I will get you your 1.11 on email sometime tonight hopefully too.

True to his word, King Friedrich Wilhelm built Monasteries and Churches in every city that was under Prussian control. He was a religious man, that's for sure. Back home in Frankfurt, my new job after being a soldier was to help build the new Protestant Monastery. I would do my best to make it the best one in all of Prussia. It was nice to have a new job, but I will never forget what life was like on the battlefield.

I was working when day with my friend, Jeremy, when we noticed some pompous looking officials grumbling down the streets in a carriage toward Austria. I had no idea what their problem was, so I asked Jeremy.

"Apparently, they came and asked the King on how to reform their government and form better laws. The King said no and sent them on their way back home." He told me. It made enough sense, and I couldn't help but feel bad a little bad for them. Oh well, maybe they'll figure it out themselves some day.

As usual when a national list was made, it was put in the local newspaper. This list was about the nations with the least debt and highest amount of wealth in the world. It was great news to see that our very own nation was on top. It definitely put pride in the hearts of the people.

As I write this down now, there's a small little parade going on down the street at our success. I may as well go over there now and celebrate with my brethren.

Unbeknownst to the general populace, King Friedrich Wilhelm had ordered a draft for Cavalrymen to attack the Dutch. I was told this myself because I had been ordered back to the military to serve as a Cannoneer again. Great, I get to see the burning of buildings once more. I'm not looking forward to it.

The reason, as I was told by my general, was because the Dutch were a gateway to the French. We wanted a land border with them so that we could better trade and form better relations. I'm not sure if that's completely true. King Friedrch Wilhelm is a clever man, so maybe he has plans for the future of attacking them. I know for sure that we definitely don't have the military power to do it now, so maybe when the time comes I'll be too old to fight.

After my battalion of cannons and another bombarded the city and broke the defenses, there was a perfect opportunity for the Cavalrymen to attack Amsterdam. The troops were scattered and the walls were broken. We could only wait for the news of how the First Battle of Amsterdam went.

Later that very day, the news was given to us that we had won the first battle. We had not lost a full battalion of Cavalrymen, but we had sustained a few losses. We had a moment of silence for those who had passed, and prepared for the next battle.

The next battle was also a huge success. We had broken the last battalion of Riflemen protecting the city and took it from the Dutch. I was told the officials in the government were sent to Berlin to be kept in a prison. I did not know how I felt about this myself. These people were innocent, and we just came and... slaughtered them.

I cannot change it myself though. This battle has brought back some terrible memories. I must leave my paper for now and calm down.

Later on that week I was sent a new map in the post. Not much had seemed to change. We had captured Amsterdam and removed the Dutch from Europe, and had reworked Denmark. There was now a large system of roads across the region and improvements that helped the city of Copenhagen grow.

It also appeared that the Russians had captured the Polish city of Vilnius. I'm not sure myself whether their only city that they have left is Warsaw, or if there are more cities. I'm sure if Warsaw is their last city, though, that Poland may be the apple of Friedrich Wilhelm's eye.
