Dawn of Russians

Russian explorers completed the exploration of the world. Russians had contact with all kingdoms on earth.

Finland declared itsself indepedent. The finnish capital was just some miles away from Sankt-Peterburg. Finnish claimed Karelia, spawning border disputes.

As it happens in almost any russian war, russians accumulate military knowledge. Mikhail Romanov was born in Kiev.

Our rivals started to fund espionage against us. Russia must build its defences.

The mongol civil wars let Russians to claim eastern lands. They built administrative centers to consolidate their power.

Russians taught Mughals the new military tactics and taught them about the mounted muskets. Mughals on the other hand taught Russians a new form of mass information, the newspaper. Russian philosophers amased by Mughal spirituality adopted the mughal philosophy. Philosophers brought a new spiritual movement to the empire, but they were pleased with the abolishment of fanaticism for the time being.

Our explorers brought a new type of edible plant from americas, the corn. Budapestians and Caricynians managed to create the first corn fields boosting their population.

A new guild was formed, the bankers. Bankers traded money. It was a weird idea, but seemed usefull.

Bankers brought new economic theories to the russian system. Some officials want to stop Russian exports. Moreover, they believe the russian beaurocracy should handle the russian economy on each own.

PRINCESS CATHERINE: THE NEW EMPRESS

Princess Catherine, daughter of Peter is the legitimate successor of the throne. She promises to preserve the lands she recieved and to expand Russia even further.

PETER THE GREAT
Peter is known as the "great". Under his rule the tsardom expanded in the east and west and made Russia from a neglectable duchy, to world's most influencial empire.

CRIERS ERA ENDS
Priting press brought a real revolution in the news exchange. The newspaper guild is formed and promises to bring fresh news quickly and acurately to Russian citizents.

BANKERS: THE NEW GUILD
Bankers formed their own guild. They trade money, as they say "We take money from who doesn't need them and deliver it to whom needs it."

BUREAUCRACY STRIKES BACK
Higher officials of russian bureaucracy don't trust bankers. They want to regulate the markets getting this power from the guilds. They believe they can handdle better the economy and strengthen the imperial reserves. Guilds react believing this will kill russian exports and economy itsself.

REFORMATION IN RUSSIA
Our scholars want to reform the church. They believe the true christian faith lays in studying the bible and other books. Priests react fearing the new movement is devil's construction.

TWO NEW GRAFTSVOS DECLARED
Empress Catherine anoints baron Isaac Angeloi, the great general of the holy war, graf of Konstantinopel. Empress Catherine anoints baron Wookieemeat graf of Lwow.

Royal council:
As you can read in the news, I am empress Catherine, daughter of Peter the Great and legitimate successor of the throne.

Mikhail Romanov
requests to give him an objective. What shall we do with him? I propose to settle him in Kiev, since graf Matthias I wants to train a mounted army.

Our scholars want something new to research. (Good done grafinya Knoedelkova, banking instead of printing press saved a lot of beakers to us.) I propose replacable parts, so that our forests can be productive without cutting them down.

Some of our cities are crowded. I will order our workers to construct villages in the countryside for the middle class. Keep them happy and we can tax them more than farmers.

We have no navy in black sea. Currently, the balkan lands connect to the rest of Russia through a narrow passage in Transylvania. I request two galleys in black sea.

We shall expand our influence in Siberia.
We can either train two settlers, conquer mongol khaganates, or both. What do you propose?

I think it is a good idea to focus on domestic development. Only developped cities will produce military from now on.

World is cautious towards us. We have border disputes with Finland, Ottomans and Poland. Even Polish who are orthodox, consider us their worst enemy. Not much a problem, but let's have it under consideration.

Revolution fractions:
Antireformationists: 8
+25% building construction

Reformationists: 0
+25% faster production of great people
can build missionaries without monastery

Reformation movement had little effect in social life of the empire if any. Reformative ideas were limited in small groups of intellectuals.

+1:commerce: per specialist
+1:hammers: from workshop

Mercantilists: 3
No exports

+25%:commerce: in Moskva

GUILDS REMAIN STRONG
Attempts to control the guilds are de facto void. Guilds continue to regulate their affairs ignoring bureaucratic announcements.

Spoiler :

I post the current civics, so that you aren't lost.

Settle Romanov in Kiev. Research replaceable parts. Both form new cities and conquer old Khaganates.

I am also Antireformaionist and Guilds. We need the production for our cities not near any hills like Sankt-Peterburg.

Also, the past tense of teach is taught, not teached

I am Anti-reformation and pro-Mercantilism. I offer to build the two galleys after my forge is built. After that, I will build a bank. I believe that, for now, we should expand through re-settlement rather than conquest. I have no opinion on technology. Finally, I request that you move the Pop. point working the tile on the bottom left to the tile on the bottom right.
Spoiler :

As you can read in the news, I am empress Catherine, daughter of Peter the Great and legitime successor of the throne.
I believe you mean "legitimate?"

I agree with DKVM that we should settle Siberia, and keep our military focused on the West. I am Anti-Reformation and Pro-Guilds. As well, I would like to transfer my Lordship from Lwow to Beograd, my fair Empress. Research replaceable parts.

It's lovely to meet you Tsarina Catherine. I'm Antireformationists and Mercantilist Also I request a list of buildings Sanit Petersburg can build.

I'm Antireformationist and Mercantilist

I am Antireformationists and Guilds. You choose settle Romanov in Kiev and you can call me Cosimo I.

you can call me Cosimo I.

COSIMO NEW GRAF OF KIEV
Graf Matthias dies out. He is known for the construction of the "patriarchate of Kiev and all Russia". His son Cosimo succeeds him as graf of Kiev.

As well, I would like to transfer my Lordship from Lwow to Beograd, my fair Empress.

Generally, I want to avoid these transfers. However, if there is no opposition, and noone claims Beograd, you will be transfered to Beograd.

Also I request a list of buildings Sanit Petersburg can build.

Done.

Due to real life problems, I'm dropping out for a while, sorry.

Ok. I will wait until the buildings of your city are built. After that, you will lose your title.

I am proguilds and antireformationist.

End of both votings. Results in the above posts.

EDIT: 40 screenshots! I didn't notice they are so many. I will break the update in two parts. One today one tomorrow.

A small battalion moves to the east. Catherine wants to take advantage of the mongol civil wars and capture their cities. However, the most of russian army guards the west.

Colonisation of Sibir:

Russians settled Norilsk and Kemerovo as administrative centers deep in Siberia. The is no obstacle in expanding to the east.

Russians consolidated their influence through their administrative centers.

Conuest of north Khanates:

Russian conquered Khanate of Irkuts. Irkutsians gave information about the surrounding area, the khanate of Hovd and khanate of Ulan-Udeh

Khanate of Hovd was destroyed completely. Its maintainance costed a fortune and it was to poor to pay any taxes.

Ulan-Udeh was captured. This event was symbolic. Ulan-Udeh was the most important mongolian city. Its capture was an ethical satisfaction for Russians and all orthodox people like Byzantine who suffered so much from Mongols.

Mukden was the last khanate conquered by Russians. Mukden was of strategic importance, especially for the chinese. Catherine was unsure of what she should do with it, so it kept it for now.

There were other khanates in Gobi desert as well. However, these khanates were too poor and Russian economy couldn't support their maintainance.

Mongolia under Russian control.

Russia controlled Siberia. However, Russia should build some ports to the pacific at some point.

Other events:

Sankt-Peterburg water was poisoned 2 times in 30 years.

Romanov settled in Kiev. This movement made Kiev the second most important military center after Caricyn. Kiev trained more units, while Caricyn trained more experienced units.

Exports. A lot of exports. That was the remedy for the bleeding Russian economy. Russia was larger that Russians could afford and their products were much more that they could absorb.

Would the Greek Orthodox citizens in Constantinople follow the Russian Patriarch or the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople?
