Dawn of Russians

Exactly :D And to be multicultural I'll have David's Star put on top of the tree :D

Santa was based off of Saint Nickolas, and then Coca-Cola portrayed him as a chubby old man, and thus the American Santa was born.

True American tradition.

Orlov! You forgot to vote? Oh my...

Well that makes me leader of the party in Duma, as I'm the only one there. That's bad.

EDIT: Wait? You're prime minister? Things are getting really confusing.

I did vote. Somewhere.

Grigory Yefimovich Tchernin served his sentence and has been released.

That was a short sentence

OOC: So if the sentence has been carried on, then this means nothing was done to remove his guilty? He just served his sentence, and now is a free man, but guilty nonetheless.

If his sentence was already supposed to end, then all our discussion took place while he was serving the sentence, and when we were almost passing the bill to judge on things of this nature, he was released.

This can only mean 1 of 2 things:
1 - His sentence was really light;
or
2 - We are a really slow Duma

Probably 2, as all governments are

Having become a lurker, I'm delurking to clear up some loose ends.

Tchernin: Tchernin has disappeared. He left a letter at XIP headquarters (Moscow Cathedral) to say he has gone to be a hermit at Mt. Athos indefinitely.

XIP: Christian One Russia wants to still contest Duma elections (they may even still believe in monarchy:lol:). Their candidate will be Sergei Kirilovich Leontyev. However, the party leadership is Petrov's (baseballpie's) if he wants it (otherwise it may disappear into the unwritten pages of history...).

me: I'm not wasting any more energy on this farce of a Duma. Unless citis lets the Duma function, I won't be back until after the inevitable revolution at the earliest. Detention without trial of Duma members must end, law enforcement/judiciary must be roleplayed as separate from palace (a separate participant in charge of it might be a good idea) and not 'coincidentally' keep doing the Tsar's citis' bidding, and the Tsar's veto on legislation has to go.

I will continue to delurk for the following:
- I will still vote for XIP if the party continues, and as Leontyev in Duma if elected.
- I may still ridicule people who are utterly incapable of roleplaying as anyone other than their 21st-century selves...;)

I thank Spirictum and baseballpie for their help, and for their unrewarded contributions towards improving this story. I also thank citis as his work on this story has (on balance) been praiseworthy. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Russian police wants Boris Anatolyevich Petrov. He is accused of antiregime activity and insulting the Tsar. It is believed that Boris fled to London.

Beginning of the great war:
Z71yBtO.jpg

In 1842 Axis declares war on Russian Empire. Russian officials waited for this moment for decades, so Russia was prepared. The superior military training in Kiev and Caricyn made the difference in this war. Cossacks were so well trained that they could beat even rifles and machine guns with fortifications.

khqhXtg.jpg

WqFXo78.jpg

England's movement to sign defencive pact with Germany proved to be smart. Germany couldn't sign defencive pact with any other major power. So now, Germany and its puppet states were at war with all other powers. Axis was at war with Russian Epmire, Republic of Great Britain and Portoguese Empire.

j4Mby0P.jpg

Russian diplomats tried to involve Japan in the war. They didn't manage to persuade them, but at least they signed defencive pact with us bringing them to our side.

u08sJEZ.jpg

The world was at war. Apart from Great war the other major power, Castillian Empire was unstable, and fought wars with its colonies that revolted.

Asian front:
Chinese warlords were divided. Some of them supported Entente, others supported Axis. However, all of them were too weak to make any offencive, so no major battle happened in China.

First moves of the war:
2JR42Gr.jpg

It was clear Russia would fight the european front. According to Russian generals the most important german city is Frankfurt. However, it was a difficult target. It seemed the easiest way to Frankfurt was through Wien.
Some other generals proposed to focus on Poland instead. They said that we were able to capture German cities one by one with patience leading to a slow but stable victory. However, German scientists make progress too quickly, so this war must be quick too.

yn5xaUE.jpg

jlDHWZ1.jpg

Italy had a weak army and needed help. An offencive through Venice would help them. This was the major reason plan a was chosen.

MmVwv0F.jpg

Russian army halted the german offencive against Venice.

JmAqLGr.jpg

However, the large stack of German troops were in middle east. Iran was too far, and most Russian troops in Europe.

kEgMcmx.jpg

Russian generals decided to send a small force in Iran to slow down the offencive. However, they decided that they should keep most army in Europe, because pressure there would be more effective. The war should finish soon, else Iran would be conquered in a couple of years.

8fCi3Wk.jpg

Some german spies were found in Siberia. They were executed immediately.

eX5yOW1.jpg

Espionage was focused on Germany.

Battle of Krakow:
uUSp3FZ.jpg

Most army was stationed in Lwow. However, the borders were near, so they couldn't leave. This led to an offencive against Krakow. The army should do something instead of just sitting to a city.

qw1v1BL.jpg

Krakow was liberated with some sacrificies. The conquest gave hope to Poles who revolted. Polish countryside revolted and joined Krakow's administration.

MbC90PY.jpg

Krakow's liberation was unexpected. This gave opportunity to capture Berlin. Capturing Berlin was easier than capturing Wien, because it was in flat plains, while Wien was surrounded by mountains and hills. Again, some generals proposed to focus on the rest of Poland, but the proposals were rejected again.

Unconventional war:
Axis frightened by Russian army near their homeland made some unconventional moves to confus their enemy.

fKa0Tpa.jpg

German lines marched in russian lands. However, they broke their formation, making them weak and vulnerable. Russian cavalry won them in some days.

ufVyPPc.jpg

PDnUng9.jpg

It seems Khmer studied Carthaginian military tactics and sent some elephants in Siberia. Although it is still unknown how they reached so north through Russia, but there were some battalions near and won.

Battle of Bagdad:
jeOv8OU.jpg

Unfortunately Axis conquered Bagdad. Mesopotamia was under Axis control.

rWnbskb.jpg

After securing oil resources of middle east Germany would like to make a peace treaty. Russian generals understood the danger and adviced the Tsar and the government to continue the war. They approved and refused the peace treaty.

Battle of Wien:
EaIF18L.jpg

Russians started siege of Wien. Cannons made their job and destroyed german fortifications causing major damages.

ldYjPP8.jpg

German forces became weak and Russian army captured the city.

Battle of Berlin:
cV8YqQF.jpg

Russian generals decided to capture Berlin. It seemed to be relatively easy and had a symbolism, that Entente wins the war.

bry3FBd.jpg

Russians managed to capture the capital of Germany. Unfortunately, Bismark fled to Frankfurt. Moreover, Germany became so angry that didn't want to continue peace negotiations any more.

b37Rx1R.jpg

Target seemed more possible than ever. However, Russian generals had make a mistake. Most army was stationed in Berlin, which was too far from Frankfurt. They should send more troops in Wien.

Axis counter attacks:
Axis seeing that they couldn't win in the main european front made some counter-offencives.

bMCY7me.jpg

In desparate attempt Germans said a cavalry to capture Kiev exploiting the few army stationed there. They failed, but the danger was indeed large.

Battle of Terbriz:
aODoFHM.jpg

German army continued to march in iranian soil and sieged Tebriz.

pM3B49D.jpg

They marched in Roma. Italian army was too weak so Russians should retreat to protect them.

UY0hE1r.jpg

They tried an espionage war too.

Battle of Tebriz:
a4QdhU2.jpg

The russian cavalry arived at last.

Yf91rBk.jpg

Russian soldiers were few but much better trained. They could win the german army.

L6HLAE6.jpg

XHLqAtb.jpg

However, German brought even more troops in Tebriz. Defeat was unavoidable.

Battle of Rome:
S0958iw.jpg

Russians sent some battalions to defend Rome.

RFP8qrr.jpg

The battle of Rome was exhaustive for both sides, but Russians managed to win.

Mediterranean front:
HyUWuDF.jpg

Naval productive cities were few, so russian navy was laughable.

mA1EtfV.jpg

Fortunately, egyptian military was laughable too.

Battle of Frankfurt:
In 1847 russian victories caused a chaos in german military. They thought fortifications were useless and abandoned them. Moreover, they left Frankfurt subdefended. It was our chance to capture Frankfurt.

XeyiZ4v.jpg

Frankfurt was defended by large machine guns. Many cossacks died in its walls. However, this is most important battle of the war, and it deserves the sacrificies.

XhN9iEp.jpg

Sides started to change. The sacrificies weakened germand defenders.

qQRMMos.jpg

And that was it. Russians captured Frankfurt, the provisional capital, major economic and scientific center of Germany. Axis was still very strong but they lost their most important city.

End of war:
F7D1cso.jpg

Bismark accepted his defeat and agreed to a peace treaty.

sVuWmYM.jpg

Germany signed the congress of Kiev with entente.

Russian diplomats requested Warsaw and Memel. According to our generals this would give almost complete control of Germany and a dessicive adantage in case of a second world war.

NbgC3rR.jpg

Entente accepted. English diplomats wanted to discuss their claim over Bombay. Although Russia didn't want it, they accepted to make sure we will keep Memel.

w9ElrVZ.jpg

And that was it. Russia controlled almost all Germany. Germans managed to access oil. However, Russia can halt them easily by conquering Hamburg or at least we hope so. Moreover, Axis is extremely unstable and it might collapse on its own before second round.

sWigF38.jpg

Warlord of Kaifeng angry to be on the losing side expelled Axis' representatives. He wanted to be under the protection of Russia like Xian and Nanjing.

JuA3qlU.jpg

Although the peace treaty was signed Germans weren't pleased. They continued the espionage war and generals are almost sure they are already preparing for a second round. However, according to our spies they have found new ways to use oil to construct new war machine. Our navy is doomed. Let's hope we will keep our advantage on land.

How could Russia not take technologies! Surely instead of further spreading Russia's resources thinner with Warsaw we could have instead acquired new technologies!

I believe they are probably much more willing to give cities then technologies. At least in most of my civ games, civs are a lot harder to convince giving a tech then a city. I normally play on higher difficulties and bigger maps, so that's completely understandable. I'm not sure the case here though

Hello Leo Dostoyevsky. You are welcome with open arms into the Populist Party.

How could Russia not take technologies! Surely instead of further spreading Russia's resources thinner with Warsaw we could have instead acquired new technologies!

I am more interested in destroying Axis. Controlling German cities is more important than getting German techs. Now we clearly control half Germany. In any alternative scenario most Germany would still be out of our control making them much more dangerous.

Moreover, they weren't willing to trade away techs anyway.

I propose to start preparing for round two, which I might be too soon.

Trade deals (before, during and after the Great War):
The government of 1840-1860 wanted to make Russia a highly globalised economy.

h9vHehC.jpg

XKFzC8O.jpg

Vassals gave their resources to mother Russia.

1SQDWDS.jpg

Cod liver oil was good for our health according to doctors. Russian merchants imported it from Peru and russian children cried about its disgusting taste.

UGMYbFw.jpg

Global prices of goods were low. However, Russia produced more resources than needed, so exporting them for money was a good idea. Many export deals happened during this period.

cjdQxyq.jpg

Russian economy so large that became almost uncontrolable. A company sold "human resources" to England. Then it was revieled that these "human resources" were human beings. "Slaves in Russia?" It was a major scandal in an economy of paid labour. Company's officers were arrested and damned to prison.

GM88ICr.jpg

Most of China was under Russian control. Russian silk merchants were flourishing and managed to persuade American markets that they provide the best quality of silk.

International news:
tG0nTFT.jpg

Vietnam furious for losing the war broke-off Axis. Asian Axis' brunch had been vanished.

yQWStR1.jpg

Japan declared their ownership of Khabarovsk Krai. However, citizents of the area were ethnic Russians. Japan could do nothing but to accept patriarchate of Mukden's influence over the so called "Fuyori".

qahgh1K.jpg

Peruvians and Russians agreed to further cooperate and opened their markets to each other. This movement angered the Spanish.

7nXzpLB.jpg

Spain joined the Axis in 1858.

Plague of 1850:
KatafMR.jpg

The continuing poisonings caused a global pandemic. The plague of 1850 emerged.

me3MwlB.jpg

Sugar makes good to our health. It helped a little to face the plague.

Germany:
G8MVwM7.jpg

Russian state spent a lot of money in Russian propaganda in Germany.

JXctFEm.jpg

Bad news from our spies. Germans build new invicible types of ships. They learnt that hese ships work with a strange balck liquid found in middle east.

JxHyFRu.jpg

The middle eastern branch was founded and destroyed the wells. However, the operation was revieled.

oq1MC4z.jpg

This didn't startled Russians. They set up a second branch immediately.

eciFSRQ.jpg

At last Russians built a modern naval ship. However, it was already outdated.

Congress of Lisboa:
XZJ4MpC.jpg

The world after the Great War.

bwUMcRv.jpg

Congress of Lisboa was held and leaders discused about balance of power. Germans recieved Berlin. Bad news for Entente, but they didn't get Frankfurt at least.

ZXrXnLv.jpg

And Axis was stronger than ever before.

UkAcczw.jpg

Well, Russia might be double at size, but this means nothing. Axis is the real threat.

It 's elections time. Rivalry with Axis continues. New economy movement.
