A few years ago on a west coast far far away.
For nearly 200 years Equestria had stood. For better or for worse Equestria had endured through all hardships that had been dealt to it. Equestria had proven time and time again that it was capable of dealing with any foreign threat.
Through it all Equestria's political situation had become more and more unstable. Big government changes, tons of periods of social stagnation, beautiful wonders, and forced integration of new ideals made it all complete. All culminating in the fall of Equestria.
Equestria had fractured into several small separate squabbling scrutinizing semi successful self-sufficient city states. The bulk of the core region had remained loyal to Princess Celestia and Luna's Equestrian government. The regiment in Canterlot was able to secure Ponyville shortly after the revolution had begun.
In North America most of Equestria's military had remained true to Celestia, northern Australia had seceded from Equestria while the south could hear that thunder and remained loyal, the entirety of Equestria's armed forces in East Asia had either surrendered to the Mongol Empire or were so bold; or so foolish; as to join them. The small detachment in southeast India, resilient as ever, remained loyal to Equestria.
And all this makes sense, because it is a historical fact than when a country collapses their army joins the enemy.
In a last ditch effort to make the Middle East relevant Equetria launched a series of nuclear weapons at Mongol held cities there. Which were later taken by Equestria.
As the Romans continued their push for Naval Advancement Equestrian forces defending Rome came under attack by the evil forces of Stalin. Who managed to take control of the city.
Through the horrors of the Revolution Equestria had discovered something far more terrifying. It was something that had become more powerful than Equestria could possibly imagine.
Royal Guards marched into Salt Lick City. They had found that after 3 years of independence several peoples and ponies in Salt Lick City had converted to Mormonism. They just had to learn to live with it.
Equestrian forces swept through Nashville and New Orleans.
Grand Horse was brought back into the herd.
Equestria had already begun to regain its stability. It was looking as though Equestria was going to be alright.
Everypony knew what was about to happen. Did they have any doubts? Perhaps, but nopony said a word.
As the year passed it was clear to the world that Equestria was so awesome.

Russia was 20% cooler than Equestria. And they easily doubled the fun.

And Crop yield. It is obvious from these reports that Equestria truly possessed superior potassium production. Every other country obviously had inferior quality potassium.
Ultimately the world would remember Princess Celestia and Luna as the Dan Quayle of ponies. As the ponies who knew that a good offense wins.

Justianian continued his fervent race for Naval Dominance. It was said in the years since the Robotics Wars that the Roman Navy had constructed 10 additional Caravels.
Stalin and Suryavarman went on to have many more adventures. One of their most sorid involved a visit to Suryavarman's home to celebrate a "Sury" holiday. This particular adventure was so low quality that it isn't in any published historical records. Many, Stalin and Suryavarman included, would just like to forget that the trip ever happened.
Huayna Capac continued being completely irrelevant.
Following the conclusion of the Robotics Wars Kim Jong Un went on fighting for the independence of True Korea. Years later he won several gold medals for True Korea in the Winter Olympics.
Princess Celestia and Luna eventually reunited the pony populations of North America under Equestria's banner once more. Harmony reigned over Equestria for generations to come. Until the discovery of Space Flight at which point Luna "volunteered" to lead Equestrian explorers to the stars.
Twilight, in recognition of her service to Equestria, was granted the honorific "Princess of Friendship". It was said that thousands of ponies cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
Communist holdouts had managed to maintain control over their far flung small towns by effectively remaining off of Equestria's radar. Eventually they were broken up when a state visit turned into a kidnapping situation.

Yeah it kind of sucks it ended that way, but I kind of expected it. Like way sooner, I was almost constantly alluding to it.
She was just super jelly of how awesome Discord was.
I'm convinced the collapse was directly caused by that golden age ending, or having -85 stability.
This is a likely conclusion.
