As for leaderheads, well, this is an interface, not a mod, so, while those suggestions are all well taken, users will have to go, as Tony says, to SOE or WWII GSG to get them.

My apologies, Balthasar, for failing to distinguish between an interface and a mod. It is a very good piece of work. Not sure if I want to try maneuvering the leader heads, but I will need to think about it.

The problem is, that it only can be "picked up", what is available. None of the leaderheads for France involved in the start of WW2 were created. The leaderheads for Persia, Thailand, Peru, Chile, Mexico and Colombia are even leaderheads of other persons that looked somewhat similar to those persons. On the other side it´s a wonder that so many animated leaderheads of that era are available (most of them thanks to the work of jorde and CivArmy).

Edited: I suggest to do any further discussions about WW2 leaderheads in the SOE or WW2 Global Gold threads, as this here is the thread of Balthasar´s great WW2 Interface - and here the focus of this thread should stay.:)

That is correct. And he does do a very good job with the Military Intelligence Bulletins.
 
My apologies for resurrecting the thread, but I was looking at if for some inspiration for something that I am working on, and thought that some of the newer members of the forum should see this great piece of work.

Thanks, Timerover. You'll be glad to know, then that your PM to me regarding the specialist popheads is responsible for my latest update -

WW2 Popheads v2: Europe​

First, the Specialists. As before, we have: Entertainers, Staff, Engineers, Military Police and Medical Personnel. So, Timerover got in touch and pointed out that Marilyn Monroe didn't begin her career until after the war, so I've changed that slot to Ava Gardner, who was discovered before the war ended. The other big change I made was to the 'Rosie the Engineer' specialist - she has a new face (of Loretta Young). The rest is too subtle for me to remember. So here's what they all look like now:

Second, the popheads: to the Americans, which you've already seen, I've added the British, the Germans, the Russians, and the Italians, comprising as much of the European Theater that I could manage:

I did the European Theater because: frankly, I wanted to make Nazis. At least itty-bitty representations of them. I do have the Japanese done (they're still in the download for now, which will continue to be available) and the rest of the Pacific theater is well underway.

(BTW, any leaderhead maker who'd like to contribute to pophead-making could make some sets of heads with expressions of either calm, happiness, sadness, anger, or surprise. Change up the ethnicity a bit, for greater variety: I'm having trouble at the moment finding good faces for Aussies, for instance.)

Thanks, Civinator, T-mun, ZergMaster, and others elsewhere for your kind remarks about the popheads. I have to say I had a barrel of fun with them. Early on in the research, I came across a quote (unattributed) to the effect that, uniform-wise, this fellow thought that the Germans came to war dressed for a parade, the British dressed for a soccer match, the Italians dressed for a party, and the Americans dressed for digging ditches. It's one of those interesting little over-generalizations that inspire things like this!
 
Excellent work, Balthasar. Now I am going to get you upset with me. Turns out Marilyn Monroe was working in an aircraft factory in Southern California during the war, and I have a photo of her in one of my books. You could have used her for Rosie the Riveter.
 
Actually, this Rosie the Engineer comes from a painting by Norman Rockwell. Unfortunately, the colors that Rockwell used just blurred when I reduced it, so I had to finally replace her face with Loretta Young's (in the latest iteration). Also, Norma Jean just wasn't all that attractive in 1945 - her face hadn't slimmed and matured yet into the iconic shape of the woman we knew as Marilyn.
