NotW LVII - Tempus Fugit (game thread)

choxorn also dipping out

This could be running out the clock strats itt but hopefully its just peeps being irl

By my count that makes us 5 Takhisis, 4 Jarrema, 3 Winston.

I admit, I probably should have pressured Jarrema harder, even if I've had scum vibes from him since he made that claim I didn't say anything out of not wanting to reveal myself. Also, I got distracted by Murska and then there were so many claimed blocks on Night 4 I was no longer sure.

But, actually? Two of the claimed blocks were Jarrema and Winston, and nothing has ever suggested there are that many blockers, I'm thinking at least one of them was lying. Maybe both. Maybe Jarrema's not even a roleblocker, maybe Winston's the actual blocker. Maybe neither of them is.

Whatever the case, they both need to die, more than Takhisis does.

Thats strange. If I'm actually a town roleblocker and there's someone else claiming to be a town roleblocker I block that guy.
^Thing I said in another game when I was mafia.

But it's also something I'd say as town (like this game) because it's true.

If you're not going to lynch Jarrema outright and counterclaim him you always block him to stop him from messing with the other town power roles, at the very least.

What's your thought process there? Who have you been blocking all game and why

unvote,

vote choxorn

Until I see a satisfactory response, in which case I re-vote Jar Jar Binks

Sudden death has begun; nightfall is in less than two hours,

My thought process is a little different than normal roleblocker because I block on future nights, not present nights.

He first claimed on day three. I probably would have tried to get him lynched over Snerk if not for the unexpected day end. I decided not to future-block him on night three, instead using my N3 action to block Golden1Knight on N4, just because I assumed Jarrema was a likely D4 lynch and I didn't want to waste my block on someone who was going to die. Then the whole Murska thing happened and the 4 or 5 blocks on N4 happened and I got both distracted away from Jarrema and confused as hell about the game.

If I was an ordinary roleblocker, then believe me, I would have absolutely blocked Jarrema N3 after his suspicious claim and the weird end of day D3, but I'm not an ordinary roleblocker.

Here re-reading.

Could vote any of the four being voted or Murska today. They're currently my bottom five, though to be honest all but Tak are there based on previous reads of the thread. Tak has moved down due to continuous skirting around results.

Need to look more closely at Mat, Al Sips and GK but honestly won't get there tonight.

Have Kenni, Pizza, Edse and Zack as most likely Town.

Questions/thoughts on all the blockers. What the?

Chox:
Can you confirm:

1. You only blocked GK here?
Golden was blocked, Winston was blocked, Jarrema was blocked and since he's the claimed blocker he couldn't have done any of the others, none of the descriptions match Cuthillius... How many blockers even are there? Did someone use some sort of ability that caused multiple people to be targeted by one ability again?

and

2. Whether or not you have actually blocked Jarrema? (or whether your confusion over Jarrema/Murska was that you blocked Murska only N3 on N2 and N4 ? - why would you do this twice/again after knowing about the vortex?)

Spoiler :

But wasn't he always using it on Cuthillius?

Fair enough.

I can project myself into the future and either block or protect someone on a later night. I can account for one of the blocks on Night 4 (N3, I blocked Golden1Knight N4), but not the others. I've mostly been using it to block, though I also tried to, on night 1, protect Pizza on night 2 (Mat redirected this on night 1, making me protect him on night 2 instead)

The things I attempted to do on N2 and N4 were blocking Jarrema N3 (failed, because Cuthillius commuted him) and blocking you on N5 (failed, because you're immune to all night abilities).

I got to use this ability twice last night. I'd rather not say what I did, because letting the Varethites know who will be protected or blocked on a future night defeats the point of blocking/protecting them.

when did cuthillius commute jarrema (n2 or n3)? But you were blocked n3 by jarrema so you may have just made an honest mistake here

or I'm tired, I have to sleep

Sorry, I meant Murska, not Jarrema. Got them mixed up somehow.

The fail message I got for that didn't really make it clear exactly why it failed, probably a combination of Jarrema blocking me and Cuthillius commuting Murska.

And generally, are Jarrema and Chox the only claimed blockers?

Winston Hughes (3): Mat93, Golden1Knight, Takhisis
choxorn (1): ATPG

The allotted hours of waking may have been strangely shortened, but the Order did not waste much time with their decision on whom to lynch today. Takhisis was selected and put to death in the traditional manner.

Takhisis has died!

Lassie's body was moved to the mortuary. He was the Guardian.

Spoiler loyalty :
He was a loyal member of the Order!

KingMorgan's body was moved to the mortuary. He was the Mentalist.

Spoiler loyalty :
He was a loyal member of the Order, but he had been corrupted against his will!

Night Six ends: Sun, 6th Mar, 10 pm GMT (countdown timer).

Night Six

Unless like the turbulence of the last few days, the night was seemingly quiet and without incident. The Great Hourglass remains tightly enmeshed in the storms of destiny, yet today will be much longer than normal. Whatever phenomenon has beset the Citadel, it seems capable of acting in both directions.

Takhisis' body was moved to the mortuary. He was the Necroscope.

Spoiler loyalty :
He was a loyal member of the Order!

All activity PMs have now been sent.

coincidental cross post, i was posting that anyways (not as response to pizza)

If chox is guilty and blocked you after today from yesterday maybe another target is in order.

But I still kind of want to take the 50/50 gamble. He might not have targeted you.

don't double me yet.

also full disclosure since i am going away from the thread, i did get my action off (cuthillius), and as it turned out but I forgot about i only gain one-shot use of abilities, so doubling did not let me use it twice

I could have grave robbed autolycus and bsmith to learn all about the game but i figured block was better
