Link to video.Welcome to 2010! As the anniversary of the disastrous crime wave and subsequent world war of 199X arrives, nations across the world are hoping for peace. But with recent developments, like fears over cyborgs and a continuously high crime rate in the gang and terrorist department, peace may not seem as close as it did 5 years ago...
Welcome to Leningrad Vice! This is a very simple IOT run by yours truly.
This IOT is inspired by 80s action movies like Terminator and Escape from New York, as well as games like Hotline Miami. As a result, it will be vaguely silly and over the top by nature. This means I'm going to have to ask you to keep your nations fairly serious - no Peru in Sweden, no "one person is the entire country" things, just normal nations and perhaps a couple of corporate-nations.
To join, claim up to 10 provinces on the map. Give me a name for your country. Anything else is highly optional but also highly appreciated - just don't use real life politicians, please! Also keep serious, as stated above. Claims must be reasonably attached (and I'll be the judge of that) - no snake countries, no "random provinces here and there".
This IOT has only two main rule categories - Economy and Military. There is also a third category, Expansion and Diplomacy, but we'll get to that later.
Economy is extremely simple. Each province produces 1 Credit Chip a turn. More provinces = more money. for 5 Credit Chips, you can increase off-map production by 1 Credit Chip.
The Military is even simpler. There is but one fundamental unit - the Army. Everyone starts with two armies. You can have as many armies as 50% of your provinces - a 10 province player can have 5, a 100 province player can have 50. Armies in the context of this IOT is armies of hackers and cyborgs, fighting wars on more than one level, as well as unmanned tanks, ships and aircraft. Each Army costs 3 Credit Chips to build.
Expansion is done by sending an army into an unoccupied province, or by spending 2 credit chips. There is no UN or international agreements, but players are free to set these up in a manner that doesn't detract from the rest of the game (again, I'll be the judge - an overly-complex UN detracts from the game).

Background
The Islamic Socialist Republic of Thrace was established after the Revolution of 1983 which brought about the end of military rule in Turkey. With support from several high-ranking officers in the Turkish Navy, islamic socialist revolutionaries seized the city of Istanbul and declared an independent state in European Turkey. During the world war in the 1990s, discontent among Muslim minorities in Greek and Bulgarian Thrace was used to the advantage of the Islamic Socialist Republic which eventually expanded to include the entire Thracian region with a new capital at Edirne. Despite being de facto independent ever since 1983, it wasn't until after the war that the independence of Thrace was recognised by the international community.
Administrative divisons and demographics
Spoilerregional map of Thrace :
Thrace is subdivided into four regions for administrative purposes, but the republic is a unitary state and as such local government is subordinate to the central government. The four regions of Thrace are Northern Thrace, Western Thrace, East Thrace, and Istanbul.
Istanbul has the smallest area but the largest population, with 76% of Thrace's total population living there. Edirne, the capital of Thrace, is located in the East Thrace region. While the constitution defines Thrace as an islamic socialist republic, there is no official state religion and all citizens are guaranteed freedom of religion. Christians are the most significant religious minority, and reside mainly in northern and western Thrace.
Politics
Thrace is a socialist republic governed by the People's Islamic Democratic Party. It is officially a multi-party democracy, with legislative power vested in the 128 members of the Grand National Assembly of Thrace.
The President is Thrace's head of state and is responsible for appointing 64 members of parliament (50%). He or she is in turn appointed by the People's Islamic Democratic Party which gives the latter a firm grip on power. The remaining 64 MPs are elected by popular vote, and no political parties are banned from contesting elections. Elected candidates who aren't members of the PIDP or a party allied to the PIDP are however confined to the opposition.
Executive power is held by the Prime Minister and their cabinet. The Prime Minister is elected by the Grand National Assembly and is a position almost exclusively held by the Chairman of the People's Islamic Democratic Party. Current Prime Minister Elif Yıldırım is the first woman to hold this position since Thrace's independence.

it was the nation of Greece, but it was greatly reduced in power, controlling only Athens, Afmissa, and all of the Peloponnese, and some Aegean islands.
it is still a very liberal society, and is largely uninterested in war.
it reverted back into a Constitutional monarchy, because of the need for its powerful monarch in such bad times. he also set up an upperhouse of 100 seats:
Liberal Party of Greece: 55 seats Conservative party of Greece: 30 seats Nationalist party of Greece: 15 seats
the liberal party is the Ruling party of Greece, and King Alexios I Metaxas will bring Greece to a new age.
