Okay, I understand that. Then make sure to place some German U-boats close to Allied vessels (so that the AI doesn't back out too soon).
Good that you plan to have unit making wonders - makes it easier to control what the AI builds (it seems as if the AI is especially weak in building naval and artillery units).

Well, I tested the map with the rules imported from SOE (as Germans), and at first, I conquered all of France, Baltic States, Scandinavia, and all of the eastern europe countries. Then the Russians & Turkish had built "real" units (I'd built the cheapest possible). As I accidentally attacked the Turks, they brought USSR into the war. So, I declared war on the rest of the world, because I wanted to die. So, In week 21, 1942, Germany was finished. From that game, I noticed several things had to be done. Right now, all of the cities are in place, and the nations are correct. I still need to add to the map: rivers, buildings, city sizes, units & resources. Also some major rule editing is going to be done.

As for the resources, I'd need maps, maps and maps. I need to know where in Europe these resources need to be put: Sheep, Led, Potatos, Marble, Copper, Silver, Pigs, Fruit, Iron, Coal, Rubber, Oil, Aluminium, Uranium, Dyes, Incense & Spices.

I've found a river map myself.

Also, If anyone would like to playtest furtheron, please volunteer (test, or cry and test  )

No need for the resource maps, I found them in my schools geography book. I think I'll be totally remaking the way units are listed, for it to be easier to handle. Please answer the poll and if anyone would like to test this after 1-2 weeks, please tell me so.

Your tech tree looks quite good!
A few suggestions though:
1.) Wouldn't it be better to have "rifles" as a prerequisite for "machine guns"? After all mgs are kind of further developed rifles.
2.) Since anti-tank weapons are an answer to the development of tanks, why not have tanks as a prerequisite for them?
3.) Which ww2 tanks would go for the "mega tank"?

4.) I couldn't really read the "air techs", but it seems as if "advanced engines" come from "advance targeting", but not from "basic aircraft building". Why that? Isn't an engine something more related to aircraft building than to targeting devices?
5.) Why are "Jet Engines" not a prerequisite for "Advanced Bombers"? After all advanced bombers would be faster than older ones.

6.) "Secret Service" could be derived from "Espionage" right away. One do not need a "puppet gov." to build a secret service.

If I have time when you release the beta I would be glad to test it! Keep up your good work!

Honestly, you should just quit. SOE for c3c will be out sometime soon.

No I shouldn't. Here's why:

1) For me SOE is just WAAY too big. It took me 10 minutes to load the savegame! Everyone doesn't have a 3 ghz Pentuim 4 with gigs of RAM.

2) I could just make a smaller map with SOE rules, but I think that there are too many units. Their stats are also different from what I want them to be.

3) There are some major innovations I'd like to spread out with this mod, such as the trade-resources.

If I want to be lazy, I'll just import the SOE rules, delete unneccesary units, and change the stats of the old ones. But I don't think I could do that, except for my personal use.

Everyone will know Rifles from the beginning, but it's still a good point. I'll add it when I get home.

Again, I'll add this when I get home.

CellKu said:

The Germans will have the Maus, the Russians T-55, but what for the British? These tanks are the last built, so something that almost saw action, or was built in 1946-1959.

You're using IE? Just enlargen the new window, as IE fits pictures to the size of the window. This is just to make things easier to draw, with one line less messing the picture. (Advanced Targeting->Advanced Air Warfare). But I'll propably add your suggestion.

Advanced Bombers are Very Heavy Bombers, not Jet Bombers

Secret Service means the nations internal police force, killing anyone who opposes the supreme leader. Because of this, Governmental Influence is required to it.

OK, another name on the list ;)

btw. I'll be adding a "normal" tech tree, with time, not type. It doesn't look as good, but I don't have a clue how the AI uses tech trees made by type.

As we are very international here, I'd need info on different units for different countries. I've put the ones I've chosen here, but commenting on them is allowed.

More to come!
Please comment & add anything you'd like for You're country.

I'm now working on the civilopedia & pediaicons, and after their done, I'll be adding the units & buildings + their stats. The map is almost finished, only the resources to put & buildings in the cities. Hopefully the first beta will be out Monday 24th! Would it be ok to put a new thread in the completed scenarios then, or when it's been upgraded from v0.1b to v1.0?

I've already got CellKu & Ville as testers, anyone else? As the future version will be a beta, icons in civilopedia won't propably be included just yet. But I guess you'll manage.

There are quite a few "work in progress"-scenarios in the completed scenarios forum. So I don't think that it would be a problem to put your beta there. Perhaps that will also help you to get additional testers. Just make clear that it is a beta and you would like to get comments.
With respect to the AI your new tech tree is much better. I am not sure if the AI would have been able to use your old tech tree effectively.
I am looking forward to testing your beta!

100th Post! Yay! Only 200 to go...

I'd like to try the specific tech tree first, and if it doesn't work, then switch. I'm also wondering about how the player would use the tech tree... Would one research the a-bomb already in 1942, but have out-of-date units & factories? Fortunately the switch from old to new tech tree isn't that difficult. I don't have a clue how large the mod will be, but we'll see.

*Goes back to the 'Add to Civilopedia-' & 'Add to Pediaicons.txt's*

The size of the mod seems to become quite impressive (especially with all the units).
With respect to the A-bomb: Make certain that it is way back in the tech tree and that ground units are too important to refrain from researching them. So, even if the player researches very fast towards the A-bomb, the AI's progress with respect to ground units should give it such an advantage that it wouldn't be feasible for the player to pursue that tactic. That would mean that the second - at least the third - generation of ground units would have to be so strong that they would crack down any resistance by first generation ground units.

I intend to make the attack/defense values as well as the +hp very large (largest possible attack/defense is 1000!?). For example the tanks: The attack would be the same number as the guns size (ie. Tiger would have 88 attack/defense). Also, every cm of armour would add 1 to the hp. (ie. 120mm armor would be +12). These might sound huge, but it makes sure that a Matilda mk1 can't destroy a Tiger. (As it can't) If the gun is a MG, the A/D = gun size*2. I still have to find out how to put the infantry A/D.

Or should I stick to the traditional civ A/D's, except making them larger? Starting from Infantry as 10/12 to Maus having 30/30?

After I've added the new Units & Buildings, and Buildings to the cities, the mod will propablybe released as Beta.

Unfortunately the Beta date might be post-poned, as the adding units part is taking longer than I thought. Although I "only" need to add the units with their stats & the buildings in the cities to make the beta work, I'd also like to do other things. The beta will be out before the summer vacation or I'll do something evil to myself ;)

@ CellKu: The early war units versus late-war units will be like spearmen vs tanks.

Then we should never research anything

No rush with beta, as long as it is out before the summer vacation :)
