stNNES1: The Years of Rice And Salt

Thanks, das!

BTW, thebignastyone did ask for Ottomans, but since you wrote such a nice story and orders, unles he objects we can let it slide...

well that sucks, thats fine, ill find another nation. ill be the triple alliance.

LOL, I suppose that means that all is well. :) Update is in... er, three(?) hours.

My Chinese subjects, you ask me, why do we need to expand China's influences when CHina is the greatest country in the world? We must teach others our ways to truely become great, like Confucius of the past, and other great philisophers. We MUST teach the inhabitants of India, Africa, and south east asia the ways of the Great Chinese Dynasties! You protest and say that you have no rights in the government, I will establish a council made of prominent citizens to advise me on matters of state...

Ming Orders *secret*
-continue wonder
-spend 2 economy on training, otherwords, equip my entire army with guns, no swords, spears, bows and arrows.
-spend 2 economy on army
-spend 1 economy on UU
-spend 1 economy on education
-Have 200,000 men on board 500 ships invade Okinwa, Taiwan, and the philipines, in that order. Have the officers and army land first, peacefully, and offer to let them join as provinces of Ming China, if they refuse, open fire with guns, and attack them. DO NOT kill, torture, or rape anyone in any areas.
-Start an Advisory Council made of prominent citizens to advise the Emperor

Uh, why can't he be Caliphate/Iraq? I clearly said that the focus of our expansion will now turn to Europidstan/Ferengistan.

Anyway, anxiously expecting the update.

LOL, sorry, that was a typo. I meant the Ottomans.

Send in orders, those who haven't! Update in an hour!

Orders:

(I'm assuming I'm the largest non-gray blob in South America, correct? If I'm not, just tell me and I'll alter my orders as such. ^^;;)

1) Increase Education.

2) Send 40,000 men and 10,000 Incan Slingers north to dominate the barbarian tribes there.

3) Garrison 40,000 troops along the border of the southern nation. Make sure it appears defensive, as...that's what it is. oo

4) The remaining military is to remain where it is, but be on guard for any barbarians assaults.

No, actually, you are the smallest, the light blue one, though your orders make sense either way. :)

Update 1: 1415 AD, Buddhist Year 1915

News reaches the world like hammer blows.

The great civilization of Europe is nearly extinguished, and the Ottomans, advancing in their wake of death, have found only abandoned cities, and ruins. Their conquest of new territories can hardly be termed that, for the only people the armies conquer are men dressed in rags, having seen their family and villages die before their eyes.

Without firm leadership from their rulers, the Alomohads, Mamlukes, and Aztecs lie dormant.

Far away, in China, the Emperor of All-Under-Heaven has begun to spread the word of Confucius by conquest now. Fleets of Ships have sailed towards Okinawa, Taiwan, and the Philippines.

In Okinawa, with little to stop them, the armies easily take it.

Taiwan, though, is a different story. There, the natives fiercely resist Chinese influence as best they can, but are overwhelmed by Chinese guns and manpower.
Casualties: Natives-30,000 men, Chinese-20,000 men

In the Phillipines, natives also resist the Chinese intrusion, though with even less organization than Taiwan, much of the Northern island falls rapidly to China.
Casualties: Natives-20,000 men, Chinese-10,000 men

However, not all is well in China. Rumor has it that Barbarian tribes are on the move in Mongolia, perhaps ready to launch more of their raids into China. Northern Commanders beg the court for more troops to defend the Great Wall. Also, the Royal Treasury is taking a heavy toll from the monstrous expenses, and they tell the emperor that they cannot afford another Treasure Fleet voyage without serious taxation on the Economy. Regardless of this, the Emperor’s orders are followed, and Five new Treasure Ships are built.

Far away, in the Inca Empire, their slingers and men make excellent progress against the disorganized Andean Chiefdoms, and few casualties are suffered.
Casualties: Andean Cheifdoms-50,000 men, Inca-20,000 men, 5,000 UU

Diplo:

From Filipino Tribes
To China:

We will not accept your rule!

From: All the Muslim Anatolian Nations
To: The Ottomans

Timur the Lame set us free, and we will not reunite under your rule. An alliance, however, is acceptable to us.

From: Trebizond
To: The Ottomans

We will not subordinate the last remnant of the Byzantine Empire to its chief rival!

OOC: None, really, except that people need to send in orders more. This turn, all non ordering nations got their economies expanded and wonders continued. NPC nations will rarely do anything unless threatened, since there are so many. I will get those Asian NPCs up very soon!

Sultan Mûsa I never had much hope for the other Turks and for the Trebzondians. So, they refused. Well, the Turks did agree, but just to an alliance. As for Trebzondians...

Mûsa pondered, and decided it would be a shame if the last Romans are to die. Hmm... Yes, he decided. I will try to clarify it for them. But if they refuse, well, it was their fault.

A much more important report came from Europe. Indeed, only one out of hundred - less, in fact - of the continent's population survived, it seemed. Those who survived the plague died soon after or ran around, insane. Cities were empty. It was such a waste...

"No more." - he said aloud. All that could be saved must be saved! Empty cities would decay before the Almohads or Zotts or whoever else comes there! This was, Mûsa felt, his divine quest. To take and rebuild Constantinople; to take and rebuild Athens; to take and rebuild Rome. To create a new empire where so many already were before. That was his goal.

Diplo:

From: Ottoman Empire
To: Trebzond

This is not subordination - this is but a treaty profitable to both sides! Allright, how about 1 economy in 4 turns?

From: Ottoman Empire
To: Almohad Caliphate

We see that you, too, have decided to participate in repopulating Ferengistan. We are glad that we are not alone. I propose that we agree to somehow divide it - perhaps you would take Andalusia, Firanja and Keltistan, while we take the Balkans, Magyaristan and Italia?

Also, we would like to start trade.

Orders:
- Continue wonder (2/4)
- Grow economy.
- If Almohads agree, start a trade route with them.
- 200,000 men are to expand north up Italia's boot. Try to locate Rome, if we do, build a settlement there. Later, we will try to rebuild the city. Our 50 galleys will bring in excess population to the settlement.
- 500,000 men, 10,000 UUs are to expand south from Thrace, into Hellenistan. Try to locate Athens, if we do, build a settlement there. Et cetera.
- 500,000 men, 10,000 UUs are to expand north from Thrace, to the new (temporary) frontier of Danube.
- 500,000 men, 10,000 UUs are to expand west from Thrace, to the Adriatic coast.

To: Ottomans
From: Trebizond

No. An Economy every four turns would surely quickly bankrupt us!

OOC: To all: Update when I have all the orders or by Monday.

How will siege weapons be represented?

To Philipino Tribes
From China
Y not? Do you not want the luxuries of the Chinese nation? The knowledge that u r a part of the greatest country in the world? What do you have to lose to submit from China aside from your independence? You will keep ur lands, ur merchants allowed in China to the great wealth, and you will send a representative to the Ming Court to represent ur interests, will you join our nation with the most liberties and rights in the known world, or will you force us to conquer you to have you be one with China?

OOC: As to seige weapons: They are basically included under your "army" stat. How advanced they are depends on your age.

To: China
From: Filipinos

We will not let you impart your culture onto us! We will not be able to uphold our own ways, but be crushed under chinese influence and numbers. This, we cannot allow. We will fight on!

Wat is the Great Wall really, like the construction...

To Filipinos
From China
Who said you could not keep ur own ways? In China, Islam, Buddhism, and Confusicism all coexist in peace. You can keep ur own ways and still enjoy the life of a Chinese citizen.

The Great Wall is by now a meaningless wreck. ;)

From: Filipinos
To: China

We will surely be absorbed into the Chinese empire and see their people all around us, forcing us from our native land and culture by sheer numbers, that we cannot accept.

So it's a useless fortification rite?

To Filipinos
From China
Wat about the ppl in western China? Those who's religon is Islam? Are they surrounded by Chinese people? Yes and no, because THEY are Chinese, and that those areas are lightly inhabited.

Yah, useless fortification is the best desc.

To: China
From: Filipinos

We know not of your western lands, all we know is that we cannot accept rule by another.

To Filipinos
From China
Wat about we grant ur region an autonomous region of China? You'll have all the rites of Chinese citizens, be protected by the Great Chinese navy and army, and u just have to pay 1 economy in 6 turns. Wat about it?
