ENES 5: Lords of Africa

NPC Diplo

From Congo
To Niger
We are afraid we must decline, the size of our nations means we would be hard pressed to support you on your northern border, and vice versa. However, we ask for a limited protection pact, against the terror in the east. Our people mutter daily and grow feared of it.
Will you accept a MPP in their case only?

From Masai
To Zululand and South Africa
Greetings, cousins of the South! We are the Masai; A warlike people, but honorable. We propose a three-way treaty: If any of us should attack another, the third is to attack the agressor.
Thus we will be bound to keep peace with one another unless one nation should rise above the other to the point where it is dominant enough to sweep aside treaties as chaff on the wind.

From Mitanni
To Egypt
Have you considered our offer of trading contacts? We will introduce you to the Arabs, if you will tell us more of the "Noonians" beyond your borders.

to Niger:
Alliance is ok, I think it's kinda too early, but no we won't stop advancing South.

to Carthage:
A defensinve alliance?

Update later today, if I get orders. I'm missing orders from Erez, Jason and Nexus. Gladinia sent me a PM, she will be away for a while, and accepts the three-way treaty of Masai, Zululand and South Africa.

not sure of did story but orders:
Grow PP with all PP
Expand espaicaly south along coasts. Bring army southward.

EGYPTIAN ORDERS
20PP on education
My trait will be Militaristic
Increase size of 1 army by 2.
Same expansion as last time - one army remains by Thebes, the other is out expanding west.

"Halt!" The guard touched his spear's tip to the intruder's stomach. He was a tall man, built strongly. He was obviously a capable fighter, and his eyes were filled with good intelligence, so he was probably educated as well. "Go no further into the King's Palace!"

The intruder took the spear unthreateningly and slowly moved it away. "My dear, dear guardsman, do not fear. I am called Mensa, and I am a Teller of the Gods from far, far away. I have come to Nubia to seek the King and teach him of the many things I can offer to him."

The guard eyed Mensa skeptically, then allowed him to pass. Soon, he was before the King of Nubia, who looked down upon the man -- for the king, he was over seven feet tall and Mensa was around six feet tall.

"Why have you come here?" asked the king. Mensa approached, not kneeling nor bowing as most visitors did.

"My name is Mensa, and I am a Teller of the Gods -- a Prophet, I believe one land has called it. I am here to offer my services as a teacher and an advisor to you, and to teach you and your people of the Way of the Gods. . ."

Orders:

1) Increase the Second Army twice and continue southward expansion. [8 PP]

2) Increase the First Army once and continue eastern expansion. [4 PP]

3) Increase Education twice. [10 PP]

4) Increase economy once. [5 PP]

[1 wasted PP]

Update 5

SPOTLIGHT:
Mitanni Ambassador Moons Egyptian Palace

A picture of the Mitanni Ambassador
BREAKING NEWS- Today the Mitanni Ambassador to Egypt was seen dancing in front of the Egyptian Palace. He was soon apprehended by the guards, but the scandal was done. Asked why, he replied "Insult for insult. For years we have sent diplomatic missives to the Egyptians and they treat them like so much dung. At last I have been able to get my message across!"
The Egyptian government will be looking into the reports of the lost diplomatic missives. The Mitanni government, however, has not yet been notified of the event due to their embassy being placed under heavy guard.

:crazyeye: Now that I've gotten my silly impulse out... :crazyeye:

In case you're wondering, I'm using a slightly unorthodox deck of cards to "draw" random events. Some of them may feel strange, but I prefer that to accusations of "why u hate me" when I make them all up myself.

Doing Nation list now...

Notes:
South Africa and Arabia should trade resources, you only get the bonus for 1 resource, if someone else pays you for another of it you both gain.

The sport is spreading, Carthage can teach it to Sahara, Egypt and Niger. Over time it will spread on its own and these nations can also build the small wonder.

The Zealots are a special army. Right now they are in the capital. When moved, they appear as a "@" sign on the map. You cannot spend PP to increase their size. They will not take advantage of tech benefits. Same rules will apply for later special armies.

South Africa is now the most advanced in the world, techs will still have effects but they will not be known beforehand. Beware their armies, however.

Arabian Orders

-Invest 20 PP total (10 PP each) in increasing the size of both our armies.
-Invest 10 PP in the National Sports Team Wonder.

The treaty been well accepted among the zululand people, they are happy because less treats from border. They are also happy because our south country is the most advance nation in the know world. You can build navies, is that what you mean by galleys?

The Nubians, since the coming of Mensa, had grown into a rather fanatical people. Their religion, Meniaism [men-yah-ism], was one of fire and brimstone, displaying pure evil devils and pure good gods who were constantly warring. The time of mankind, according to Meniaism, was a time of peace between the Devils and the Gods. According to Mensa's prophecies, a great war would begin between the two once more in several centuries, and the world would be destroyed. Only those who worshipped and reverred the great Gods who will face the Devils come that final conflict shall survive, and they will be taken to the eternal paradise that is the Land of the Gods, Menit.

Those who do not worship and rever, according to Meniaism, would either perish in the destruction of the war or be taken back to the Land of the Devils, Anarie, and be tortured slowly and painfully for the rest of their lives. In the era Meniaism arose, it is not surprising that the Nubians fell for it hook, line, and sinker. It did not affect foreign policy [they were certainly not so dumb as to think they could take on every other nation in the world that did not follow Meniaism], but it affected domestic affairs. . .

Orders:

1) The Zealots are to guard the capital [which has been named the Holy City of Menia, thus where Meniaism gets its name].

2) The First Army are to expand to the Southeast. Increase it, also, by 2. [8 PP]

3) Increase the Second Army by 1. Expand with it to the West. [4 PP]

4) Increase education by 2. [10 PP]

5) Increase economy by 1. [5 PP]

[1 PP left over]
