City Naming Office Instructions for Entire Away Period (through 24th of August)

While I am gone I expect a number of cities should be founded, and since the system is very strait forward I'm posting instruction here for the next few and I'll hope these cover everything. These apply for this turnchat and all others while I'm on vacation.

Cities founded by us should be given names as they usually are, from the top of the list. A player may change the city name he wants, or give it up in favor of a more geographically appropriate one. In these cases he should post in the naming office thread. Otherwise, the cities will be named in this order:
Epolenep
Zojoji
Odawara
Okinawa

As stated, at the request of the person who submitted the name it may be changed. I expect we'll only found that many cities during my absence.

If any cities are captured, they should keep their name rather than be renamed.

If any cities are destroyed and rebuilt, the name will be reused.

That should cover everything. Good luck while I'm gone.

Moderator Action: Editted "Daitokuji" (Cyc's 2nd cityname choice) to "Zojoji" (Cyc's 1st cityname choice) - Rik

Fanatikku- Settler, Spear, Settler (if growth permits), Warrior
Furuyama- Warrior, Warrior, Spear, Worker
Immo- Worker, Spear, Worker, Temple

If site G is settled: Barracks, Worker

Possible Iron City: Try seeing if a worker is possible to start right away, as I have no idea where this city may be

Notes:

-Those Furuyama warriors being produced are for the settler (escort) and capital (protect/mp), but military has final say.

-The capital should be keeped under control through lux slider through Domestic. If Domestic doesn't post the instruction, please consider it. If Domestic refuses, one of the wheat tiles in the capital must become an entertainer.

-Please consider unit policing before moving units.

Edit: Updated

- Northern Warrior should NW to the Hill, then rest to full health then continue to explore to the east.
- Eastern Warrior should explore the mountains and hills to the north, then continue to explor the Roman borders
- SouthEastern Warrior should continue to follow the Roman boarders to the east
-Southern Warrior should scower the mountains and hills for a barbarian encampment then make an attempt to disperce it.

-The First Warrior built by Furuyama shall go to Fanatikku to escort the upcoming settler
-The second warrior from Furuyama will garrison Fanatikku.
-All Spears currently enqueued will garrison their respective cities when completed.

Continue research on Iron Working. (1st tech)
After that; start research on Alphabet. (2nd tech)

If we've obtained both Iron Working and Alphabet; This Poll indicates the tech-combination the people want to be researched next.

If there is 1 combination that got the majority vote; please choose the first tech of that winner as the 3rd tech to research. The 2nd tech of that combination is the 4th tech to research.

If 2 (or more) combinations tie for first place, (writing & Lit are currently tied with Myst & Poly) look at the other votes on the first techs (Writing and Myst, in this case) and see what other votes they got.
(Currently: Writing&Mapmaking 1, Writing&Philsophy 1, Masonry&Writing 1, Horsebackriding&Writing 1, Mysticism&Writing 1, = 5 extra votes for Writing, 1 extra vote for Mysticism).
Choose the tech combo with the most secondary votes. (Currently: Writing, so the combination to research would make this Writing&Literature).

If the top 2 (or more) are still tied, the Minister of Science has a tie-breaking vote and votes for "Writing&Literature". If "Writing&Literature" is not part of the top 2 (or more) the DP can cast the tie-breaking vote.
Or: (I haven't seen your vote yet) you can always officially vote and break the tie...

If due to trades, huts or any other way we've obtained all 4 indicated techs, please stop the chat.

Have fun !

Foreign Affairs Instructions

In my quite insignificant Department, your humble minister provolution is proud to announce that we will seek peace for another term turnchat.

Trade Instructions - 2150 BC

Discovery of Iron: In 4 turns, we will discover Iron. Based on this poll. the people express an interest for trading this tech away. However, due to their proximity and UU possibility, I ask that Rome be considered last (if at all) in any trade talks for this tech. Furthermore, the Trade Ministry is strongly against a straight tech-for-tech trade in regards to Iron Working. When courting the Zulu or Iroquois (based on location of Iron -- your call), please offer Iron Working for Mysticism/Alphabet and see how close we are to a deal. If we can then strike a deal with available gold, then please do so. If they are willing to offer more, take it. While our maps are not enitrely reliable, please take into account location of Iron Resources when making these trades.

Locating Iron Resources: Upon discovery of Iron Working, please review the map for Iron locations. If no Iron resource seems instantly attainable, but is near or within rival borders, I request that the chat be stopped. However, you can use your best judgment here.

Meeting New Civs: If we happen to meet another civ to the north, please check for trade opprtunities. The Trade Ministry authorizes any tech-for-tech trades that exist.

Babylon: Please check the Babylon FA screen every 2-3 turns. If they discover anything we can use, try to secure a deal. Do not offer Iron Working to Babylon.

Gold for Mysticism: Based on this poll, do not buy Mysticism in the preturn. However, if Babylon should discover Horseback Riding or Masonry(and still doesn't have Mysticism) before we discover Iron Working, please review a purchase of Mysticism from the Iroquois. If the deal hasn't changed much, don't do it.

Purchasing Foreign Workers: Please do not purchase foreign workers at this time.

Settlement
Settle the next city near the iron. Exactly where is to be determined in the chat itself. If we get another settler, please settle here:

Slider settings
The luxury slider is to be set to 10% as necessary to keep order in the capital, and the science slider is to be set to maximize research while maintaining at least 0 GPT.

Chat Log

Summary (not in order of occurrance ATM):

We discovered Iron Working, and Rome also discovered it the same turn. We trade IW to Zulu for Alphabet+26g, and then sold Alphabet to Babylon for Mysticism+8g. A barb camp was located but it had two units. so no good opportunities came up. Our unfortunate exploring warrior met an untimely end as the RNG gods were not kind. We found several peaceful barbarian tribes, who graciously taught us Masonry and Horseback Riding. Epolenep was founded on site G. The borders of Rome are pretty much mapped, and the Zulu have been located to the NE.
