Trade Instructions - 2150 BC
Discovery of Iron: In 4 turns, we will discover Iron. Based on
this poll. the people express an interest for trading this tech away. However, due to their proximity and UU possibility, I ask that Rome be considered
last (if at all) in any trade talks for this tech. Furthermore, the Trade Ministry is strongly against a straight tech-for-tech trade in regards to Iron Working. When courting the Zulu or Iroquois (based on location of Iron -- your call), please offer Iron Working for Mysticism/Alphabet and see how close we are to a deal. If we can then strike a deal with available gold, then please do so. If they are willing to offer more, take it.
While our maps are not enitrely reliable, please take into account location of Iron Resources when making these trades.
Locating Iron Resources: Upon discovery of Iron Working, please review the map for Iron locations. If no Iron resource seems instantly attainable, but is near or within rival borders, I request that the chat be stopped. However, you can use your best judgment here.
Meeting New Civs: If we happen to meet another civ to the north, please check for trade opprtunities. The Trade Ministry authorizes any tech-for-tech trades that exist.
Babylon: Please check the Babylon FA screen every 2-3 turns. If they discover anything we can use, try to secure a deal.
Do not offer Iron Working to Babylon.
Gold for Mysticism: Based on
this poll, do not buy Mysticism in the preturn. However, if Babylon should discover Horseback Riding or Masonry(and still doesn't have Mysticism) before we discover Iron Working, please review a purchase of Mysticism from the Iroquois. If the deal hasn't changed much, don't do it.
Purchasing Foreign Workers: Please do not purchase foreign workers at this time.
