Background:
The UNC (United Norse Commune) is composed of the formerly factioned Scandinavian countries... These countries, before the Yeting Union (as it is also know), were riddled with corruption, civil strife, and economic turmoil. During the pan-Viking war (civil war between the Danish, Swedish, and Norman Vikings) though, a new leader convinced a large number of disordered, raiding Vikings and swept the battlefeild clean of any opposition, slaughtering all that stood in his way (thus, earning the title "Great Bloodspiller" or "Stort Blodtomere" as it is said in Norwegian -Yeting was both Sedish and Norwegian)...

After that, the new Viking empire raided much of Europe, until the advent of Christianity, where the became more passive (but retainded the Viking Pagan beleifs of their ancestors)... The Viking empire officially addopted Communism as its government in 1958, and became a very industrial and scientific state, trusting in scientific advancements to keep their military one of the best in the world.

The citizens currently enjoy a nearly un-stratified society, and live in an almost completely stable (economically and socially) setting. Prior to their industrialization and their modernization, the Vikings lived prosperously, with little crime and corruption (mostly due to the nature of Yeting's rule... Previous "Iron-fisted" rulers looked like clay-fisted rulers in comparison; crime was, in no way, tolerated). They were mostly a farming society, family based, with a great interest in education.

The Neo-Vikings now look down on dogmatic societies, and express great (*ahem* nearly psychotic) hostility toward fundamental and fascist societies...

The Worker Camp is used by the UNC for making some profit off of the ciminals of its society. The Work Camp uses forced labor to improve production in the city, but at a cost to culture and tends to make a small amount of people unhappy. Unlike the Concentration Camp, the Work Camp doesn't use innocent civilians to improve porduction, but the "lifers" of its prison system. Also, the prisoners in the camps are occasionally shackled and made to work outside the camp, though they only work at half-speed.

^Arashi Ninjas are special combatants for the $LINK<Seiryu Kingdom=RACE_Seiryu> during the middle ages. They are essentially the same as the medieval infantry, but treat all terrain as roads, have the ability to stealth attack enemy units and conduct amphibious assaults.

^The Arashi Ninja group traces its origins back to the revolution that created the Seiryu Kingdom in the first place. During the insurrection against the evil Tang Chi Empire, a group of loosely affiliated ninjas banded together under the leadership of a man who was only known as Arashi, or The Storm. Under Arashi&#8217;s leadership, the ninjas provided much needed intelligence and assistance with the Seiryu Shishi (revolutionary front). Since the Seiryu Shishi had a technological advantage, but a numerical disadvantage, this allowed them to maximize their strength and minimize their weaknesses by precise deployment of troops and advanced weaponry against the Tang Chi&#8217;s hordes of monsters and undead. A few Centuries later, during the second revolution, Sakura &#8220;Inazuma&#8221; (Lightning) Tanaka, the leader of the Arashi Ninjas, played an important role in the overthrow of the corrupt king, paving the way for a more democratic and fair form of government.

Arashi Commando: Same Stats as TOW infantry, but treats all terrain as roads, has stealth attack, and amphibious assault (if that proves too unbalanced, then the amphibious ability can be eliminated). No resources required.

^The Arashi Commandos are the modern descendants of the original Arashi Ninja clan. When Sakura &#8220;Inazuma&#8221; (Lightning) Tanaka, the leader of the ninja clan during the second revolution, married Hikaro Takayama, the former ronin who became the new king, her ninja clan became part of the national military. Since then, the current queen has had command of the Arashi special operations division (except in the case that the country was under the rule of the queen, in which case the reagent would take command of the division). Thanks to the first queen&#8217;s prowess in combat, as well as the libertarian views of the first king, as well as the force&#8217;s background as a ninja clan, the Arashi Division is one of the few special forces units in the world that allows women to join. The only factor determining eligibility is actual combat, stealth, and infiltration skills. Male and female candidates are, however, placed in separate platoons both in training and, once they graduate, in the actual operating theater as a way to discourage &#8220;inappropriate behavior,&#8221; a method that has worked rather well thus far.

^The Nestorian sect of the Christian Church can trace its origins back to St. Thomas, the doubter, who was also one of the original 12 disciples. St. Thomas traveled east during his missionary years, making it as far as Madras, India. It was in Madras that he was martyred by the local populace as a result of his teachings. In the end he won, since there were also many who listened and converted. A church was built over his tomb, and his followers in India spread the Christian faith even further east into China, Tibet and Mongolia.

^After the devastation of eastern China by the Mongol hordes, and during the subsequent rebuilding by the foreigners granted land there, a number of Nestorian monasteries were constructed in the region. The German and Dwarven immigrants, most of whom were Catholic to begin with, substituted the Orthodox Nestorian church for the Pope and Catholic church they left behind in their homelands. During the second revolution, the famous ronin, Hikaro Takayama, was rescued by the Father Superior of the fortified Nestorian Monastary in Takezato. While staying at the monastery, recovering from wounds he&#8217;d received while fleeing from King Takashima&#8217;s elite Royal Guard, Hikaro converted to Christianity after listening to the monk&#8217;s sermons during Sunday mass. After he became king, Hikaro donated a significant amount of his own personal money (and 10% of his annual salary therafter) to the Church. The Seiryu Kingdom&#8217;s constitution guarantees religious freedom, as can be seen by the present day religious breakdown of the population. Unlike most other Asian countries, Christianity is the religion with the largest following, accounting for 40% of the entire population. Shinto-Buddhism (a combination of Shinto and Buddhism, similar to what is practiced in modern Japan) is second with approximately 30% of the population attending shrines and temples across the country. Islam is third, accounting for 15% of the population. Hinduism accounts for another 10%, and the remaining 5% by all other religions combined.

^When the Chinese Empire sent messangers to the four conrers of the earth to seek aid against Ghenghis Khan and his mongol invaders in the late 12th century, a vast number of Samurai and peasant warriors came from Japan as well as a good number of Human and Dwarven Crusaders seeking their fortunes on the Chinese battlefield. After the Mongols were successfully repelled, the vast number of foreigners on Chinese soil made the Chinese government rethink their erlier plan of renegging on the rewards they promised those who came to their aid. Since they lacked money, they gave the foreign warriors feifs and titles in the devastated eastern, or Quinglong provinces in return for an oath of loyalty to the Chinese Emperor. The Japanese, who made up the majority of the population used the Japanese pronunciation, or Seiryu when referring to thier new homeland. In the year 1280 when the southern Chinese Ping dynasty fell to a cult led by a group of daoist necromancers, the Seiryu provinces rebelled, forming an independant kingdom. For the next 200 years, the rugged mountain ranges and superior technology of the Seiryu kept the Tang'chi dynasty's hordes of undead and other monsters at bay. In the year 1488, the king of the Seiryu began to experiment with evil majick and even signed an alliance with the Tang'chi in order to defeat the northern Chinese Kingdom. This evil plot was discovered by a virtuous daimyo named Eiji Minamoto. Lord Minamoto hired the best mercenary ronin in the kingdom (and a close personal friend whom he could trust), Hikaro Takayama. Hikaro, along with the rest of his ronin guild, the Rokunin Zoku (six-man clan) stole the alliance document as proof, and exposed the king's evil throuhout the kingdom. Hikaro later led a successful defense of Lord Minamoto's city of Onshu, as well as leading the rebel armies to an overwealming victory in the final battle of the war. After being proclaimed the new king, Hikaro's first act was to establish an elected parliment with a house of Daimyo to represent the nobility, as well as a house of Citizens to represent the commoners, with the House of Citizens having the final say on any public spending projects. Subsequent monarchs have since passed laws giving most of the governing power to the Parliment, with the king retaining executive powers similar to the President of the US, such as signing and vetoeing new laws.

The Nation
When the intelligence agency named XIM was founded, they started using a small cottage by the little "Storeng River" as a headquarter. It had already been built a road there and some small fields. And the time went on and the small place was just like before. Until XIM moved to a even smaller cottage longer up the river. And it was then the whole thing started.It started with that it was built a short and little city-wall that was soon destroyed, but after that the settlers built a bigger house and it was built more houses after a while. And then the settlers decleared it for an independant nation. The first name was South-Farmers, then Southland, then Engistan and now North-land. The only city and capital is Safari Cookies; that was founded right when the place began to grow. The golden age for this nation has gone, but hopefully it will come a new golden age. A civil war has ruined this nation and soon the rebuilding shall start.

XML-1 Tankette

From the start of the nation Northland it was needed an half-armoured vehicle that should have an medium firepower. Some years went on, until a prototype was made. And it was sanctioned. Then the production went on. It has only been used one time, in "The Big Apple War". And it was very succesful. And now the XML-1 tankette is the main armoured vehicle for Northland.

SSH/TSLA Soldier

A time after Northland was founded some settlers founded SSH/TSLA, which stands for "Settlærnes Siste Hær" or "The Settlers Last Army". They were very bad at combat because they used old rifles/musket-weapons, but they were very good in surviving in the terrain. Later they also founded SSK/TSLB, which stands for "Settlærnes Siste Kamp" or "The Settlers Last Battle". These was the elite soldiers of the settlers. SSH/TSLA soldiers was in battle for the rebellians under the North Civil War. After that they is been used if it's really needed some help in military conflicts.

I have no specfic resources or improvements/wonders to this nation.

#PRTO_Mooninites
^ The Mooninites are a race of 2-dimensional highly aggressive sprites from the moon. The Mooninites and their "superior" Nintendo-like technology somehow developed space flight in the late 1990s AD. From there they traveled to earth and caused much mischief until they were chased off the planet by a floating box of french fries. Their leader at the time, Ignignokt, was not exactly a strategical genius and so, many decades later was replaced by an exact replica known as Psycow. Under the leadership of Psycow the Mooninites conqured 15-planets, 2 of wich were inhabited. One of these places was the Austrian region of Pluto, the homeland of the Plutonian "leader" Oglethorpe. The Plutonians lost mainly due to the fact that the Emory, Oglethorpes second, never labled the laser buttons and so they repetetively blasted themselves in the eyes, blinding them and alowing the mooninites easy victory.

^The Mooninite Assault Squad replaces the marines for the Mooninite Empire. The Assault Corps was founded by Ignignokt's companion, Irr in 2016 AD. Using their super high tech, very slow pistols the Assault Squad was supposed to be the ultimate fighting force. Unfortunately, the Assault Squad seemed to be better at running away from more powerful foes than they were at defeating them.

Serenno

The Democratic Republic of Serenno has a rich cultural history, as the last traces of the Roman Empire. The numerous barbarian attacks on Rome eventually resulted in the empire’s collapse. Those Romans who were not killed fled, many to the Byzantine Empire, where the Roman heritage still survived. But, the Byzantines also met their demise, one thousand years later to the Ottomans. So, it seemed the glory of Rome was lost forever. But that was not so.

Before the sacking of Rome, a group of Roman citizens, and a division of the army, fled north, hoping to avoid the barbarians and reestablish Roman culture in a new land. After a very long journey, they found what they had searched for, new land in a region called the “Cherev-noh,” or “gem of the earth” by the local tribes. These tribes, known as the Estonians, the Latvians, and the Lithuanians, had united into one nation, the Cherev-noh Confederacy.

It became apparent that the natives would not share their land, and war was inevitable. The Romans rallied under their great general, Augustus, named for the great emperor. Both armies met in the valley of Cherev-noh, near the barbarians’ greatest city. The battle lasted many days, but the greater skill and ingenuity of the Romans won the battle, and drove the savages into the wilderness.

The Romans named their new country Serenno. They razed the Cherev-noh villages and began work on their new capital, Serenno City, built in the styles of their people. Their great general soon proclaimed himself Caesar Augustus, as the first emperor of the new nation. The Serennans, however, did not approve of such power in their leader. They knew that such a government had failed them in the past, so they formed a Senate, led by a consul and became the Republic of Serenno. They let Augustus remain Emperor, though, as a testament to their Roman heritage.


Legonarii Serennae

The backbone of the early Serennan army, the Legonarii Serennae, or “Legions of Serenno,” were organized when the war with the Cherev-noh natives was nigh. They were assembled and trained by the legendary (and later Emperor) Augustus. They were skilled with many weapons, most notably the sword and javelin. Their skill and discipline determined the outcome of the battle that won them their country. The Legions continued to defend Serenno and hunt down barbarians until the age of gunpowder arrived, making them obsolete.

Auxilia

These skilled horsemen were assembled by the Serennan General Augustus to serve as heavy cavalry in the recently-formed Serennan military. These swift riders carried out quick strikes on the Cherev-noh warrior bands before the main army arrived, reducing their numbers and effectively demoralizing the enemy. As with their fellow soldiers, the Auxiliae were greatly skilled with the sword and javelin. They continued to root out the disgruntled natives, until the use of gunpowder forces them to change their tactics.
