Reef

CrackedCrystal made a superb modification to Snoopy's wCSO modification adding banks that distinguish the sea tile from the ocean tiles. It happens to be the same file that the reef modification was made on. So I have combined the 2 so that the reef and the banks are both together.

Here is the preview.

Yeah I got that one. I wanted the newer, combined version. But if you don't think it'll work with Rhye's darker colors I guess I'll have to live with it. Keep up the good work.

can you get reefs for vanilla or is a thing that snoops added?

Do all of these work graphics in C3C?
Also
Where are all the Mod packs?
Not a newb, I got C2C for my birthday in Feb and I'm just trying to get back into the game.

These are not meant for the standard Firaxis terrain set.

I stated above in this thread these are for Snoopy's Standard Terrain. As P.S.Y.C.H.O. says, it doesn't matter which expansion sets you have as the graphics are the same with only the additions of marshes, volcanos and landmark terrain in the expansions.

I would recommend loading Snoopy's terrain set for C3C when using these mods. If you read through this thread, you will notice that there is also a version for Rhyes Terrain set. I would say that these are the 2 most popular and a lot of add-ons have been done for these two terrain sets.

Warpstorm and Joker also have good terrain sets, but these will not work with those sets.

Personally I use different setups in different scenarios with different terrain, roads, , goodyhuts, mines, etc... in each scenario. I use Snoopy's terrain in the epic game.

Ideas for the LM SSS tile: Anyone ever thought about floating icebergs to be placed in nordic waters and to require more movement points? Also been thinking about what if one would use this tile as a trade route (with faster movement) for scenarios: What I came up with up until now didn't make much sense; buoys or lost cargo boxes floating about and the like weren't any good an idea. Though one thing would fit well at least for modern scenarios: Little oil spillages, making the water dirtier on these routes than the normal ocean would be. Basicaly I am thinking about thin, alongated streams a large number of ships would lose at cruising speed on their journey from west-east and vice-versa. How about this one?

Yes, I bet you do, after all you are 'the' terrain customizer no.#1 at CFC :king: ...Seaweed and dolphins can easily be added to normal tiles as resources (coconuts ?! coconuts cannot float, at least not when fallen into the water unopened). I like the wooden planks and the boxes (i.e. cargo that may well be used on early vessels) tho. Me thinks that would look convincing if mixed. No idea about how fogg or seagulls would look, hmmm and what they'd symbolize. I know that oil idea is a far shot, and possibly impossible to make that look good, would be quite interesting though for the modern age with its huge and rising ammount of ship movements on sea lane routes.

Anyways, it was just an idea... no pro.

How do coconuts get to other islands, is it after they start to grow small branches, or is it trapped in a floating mass.

I'm thinking that birds would some time follow boats, especially if they could grab a piece of discarded food.

I was just thinking of fog/cloud as a way to mark the tile, maybe a wave would do.

They just have to be marked somehow.

Well, you are obviously not a fan of Monty Pythons then: Laden Swallows are a Coconut's favourite means of transportation (note: still unestablished if that'd be an African or European Swallow) ;)

No but seriously, as all (?) trees Coconuts flower and issue pollen:
"The flowers of the coconut palm are polygamomonoecious, with both male and female flowers in the same infloresence. Flowering occurs continuously, with female flowers producing seeds. Coconut palms are believed to be largely cross-pollinated, although some dwarf varieties are self-pollinating." So I'd guess either birds or sea-farers might have carried either pollen or whole fruit.

How bout little waves and the gulls roaming for fish in the sturdied waters?
