Notary of Names and Titles

Honorable DZ, NNT Notary

I have presented an amendment proposal of the illegal Naming Rights Law approval poll.
This will firmly put NNT in charge of assuring that the NNT is in charge of protecting the citizen rights in naming units of order of citizen registry.

For such a thing to take place this office would have to be an elected position. As it stand now the president is the final sayer in this. If your proposal is made into law, a corrupt president could just as well remove whoever is in charge of the names and replace it with whoever (possibly him/herself).

The NNT is a presidential office. Hence, the responsibility still rests with the President, so any hypothetical wrongdoings by NNT is still a Presidential responsibility.

Then what's the point of an amendment that "will firmly put NNT in charge of assuring that the NNT is in charge of protecting the citizen rights in naming units of order of citizen registry" if the president is ultimately responsible and can change who runs the NNT at will?

Blackheart, I am notifying DZ about the Presidential Law, so he knows what is going on.

People of Fanatannia,

Effective March 31st, I will no longer act as Notary of Names and Titles for the DemoGame. Of course, this is assuming that I have done much with this position in the first place, which I have not. I feel that I owe it to the nation to step down and allow a more active citizen to take on this role.

Though I would like to chalk it up entirely to lack of time, I am afraid I cannot. Since October 2002, I have gone from outspoken rookie :hatsoff: --- to prolific leader :king: --- to capable moderator :hammer: --- to inconsistent participant  --- to flighty malcontent :gripe: . At this rate, I am afraid to see what the next phase will be. ;)

Even still, it has been a good run. I got to be Vice-President in DG2 and President in DG3. I was Domestic Leader twice and Military Deputy 4 times. I even got to spend two days on the Judiciary. And of course, I had the honor of helping to run this forum for about a year. But the most fun for me was the pleasure of witnessing the first posts of some of our current superstars. Right, d8575? ;)

Though I have done it all in the DG, I certainly haven't seen it all. That said, nothing could keep me away from watching the cycle continue, if only as a spectator. I am sure I will still vote in elections and still chime in with a timely quip every now and then. I just believe that my days of public service are over, as my record over the last two games should reflect.

Thanks to everyone involved in this game for making it an enriching experience. I'll see you in the forums.

Respectfully,

DZ

Honorable DZ :D

Thanks for trying. I have presented a reform to poll all city names at the same time localization is done. I think some of the citizens feel left out by the present naming system.

Sorry to see you leave the office :(.

Good By DZ, it is clear the DG will never be what it use to be. Participation has gone way down(look at elections), I am not shur how many more demogames will be played. Make sure you post now and again, would be a shame for another great player to entirely leave...

DZ, I'll be sad to see you leave public service but it has been apparent for a while that your heart isn't really in the game any more, at least not enough to be a full timer. I had hoped that this type of position would rekindle your interest but alas it's not to be. :(

It seems we will always have a need for citizens who are willing to speak their mind against the worst excesses and with nothing to lose by it. Your continued presence, however infrequent, would be good for us all. :D
